Blue Öyster Cult’s performance at iHeartRadio Theater in New York City took place on December 17, 2012 in an intimate setting for a lucky audience of 200 fans. This special show was arranged in celebration of the band’s 40th Anniversary and the release of a then new boxset, "The Columbia Albums Collection".
Recorded by an army of cameramen for a special webcast, the performance is now being commercially released on CD/DVD, Blu-Ray, and Vinyl.
BÖC’s original core duo of vocalist and lead guitarist Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser and vocalist and rhythm guitarist Eric Bloom are joined by Richie Castellano on guitar and keyboards and the rhythm section of bassist Kasim Sulton and drummer Jules Radino.

The old men still have it. Rock on forever!
they hit a groove and stick with it. . .intensify, and beam it!
The most perfect rock and roll tune of all time!!! Fun, nonsense that kicks ass!!!!
Note: Bloom and Buck are in their 70s here. Fucking incredible.
IncredibleCredibleeIncredible!!
I agree
The crowd behaves like themselves were in their 80s.
But they slowed the pace to not task their pacemakers.
i wanna go back to my highschool days & heare this again for the first time music like this made me pursue learning to play guitar at 16 a couple quarts of beer made it sound better when i started playing iv'e been practicing for over45 years now i have gotten better
I love how Blue Oyster Cult just casually created a theme song for Godzilla that’s somehow more iconic than the 1954 original theme.
Why do certain loud G-list musicians claim Nirvana copied portions of this song for “smells like teen spirit? Wtf , 2 songs don’t sound anything alike besides way drums kick in very beginning. The latest g-list superstar was ultra talented , Uber famous , “Ex-Keyboardist for Marilyn Manson” this confused clown calls himself Madonna . Anyway he posted this song & nirvana song & actually wrote “F -ck you Kurt Cobain, you fkn thief” ? Wtf? I don’t get it ? Anybody else see it?
@@v.v3829 even though the rythm of the songs are completely different the main riffs from both songs use almost the same chords in the same order. Cobain didn't rip it off but there is definitely some influence.
I know isn't it great the best
@@darthmaul3525you could say the same thing about “smoke on the water” or “cinnamon girl” at what point does it end? As an actual guitar player I only play h things that sound fun in the moment and Later double check I’m not ripping anyone off which is %100 what Kurt did as well, you can’t copy chords the finished result determines what is the same or not. Nothing the same and at this point you could say ALL music is Just sounds to animals
Dopo di loro i metallica hanno fatto the call of chtulu con le chitarre che riproducevano il verso di un mostro 📞🖤👍😈
Blue Oyster Cult is bad ass Rock and Roll ! Their concerts are excellent !
AMAZING ONE OF AMERICA'S FINEST BANDS!
indeed
Amen! That’s why I have seen them over 30 times!
Of all times.. and Uriah heap
What's really remarkable is that Buck never seems to play the same solo. Always something a little different within the contextvof the song. Gifted and we've been so lucky to hear him.
That isn't remarkable... it's easy for any guitar player to do. What would be remarkable is if he could make it sound the same every time. THAT takes talent. Meandering around on the fret-board isn't remarkable at all. And yeah, I play professionally.
@@basedbear1605 Well ya know, folks use words out of context all the time. Looks like it was a 'fun' concert though.
@@user-uh4yj9cy6k Um.... ok?
@@basedbear1605"and yeah, i play professionally" you're not buck dharma though are you?
@@technerdbird No, and I thank God for that. Boomers suck.
One of most underrated bands. Some of rocks biggest hits no body will forget: reaper, burning for you and Godzilla. These guys were ahead of their time. BOC was one of my first concerts. When I was 16 back in 81 they stopped in Albuquerques and played at the old Tingley Coliseum. On of the best concert that stopped in here . They rated up there with Rush Ted Nuget Ozzie and Jethro Tull. As a kid you could afford to go to a concert back then.
so true - and some of us are only discovering because some algorithm has 'thought' about them and their likes. . .whoa what a world, but you're right. . .good stuff
I was born one year before Godzilla graced us with his presence. I have seen every movie and collect figures of him. Great band & great song. Watshi Wa Gojira Ga Dalsuki!
No way in heaven you're THAT old, Jesus, good lord dude, you must be grateful to see his evolution through the years
@Ángel the halfbreed 1955 ?
First movie, two years before I had arrived as David. Love ❤️
This jam. The Japanese couldn't be more proud. Godzilla the resulting monster
Of A-bomb warfare. If they
Only knew the folly of war!
Godzilla- King of the Kaiju
probably one of the coolest rythmic bridges at 3:00 that there ever was. that awesome riff only happens once in the whole song. Wish they had a whole song with that groove.
I'm 56 years old and I been listening to BOC since I was in Jr High!!!! I remember being in class my second day of Jr high, siting behind Buba Jenkins and he's wearing a BOC concert shirt. I'm like what the fuck is Blue Oyster Cult? Well after I found out about them I was hard core BOC fanatic!!!!Straight up rock n roll all my life. Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult!!
All the vocals right fucking on. Harmonies are great.
this might just be my favourite live version of the song. they all look like they're having so much fun
I love this band.. Adding Richie Constallano was a great move. He is versatile.
One of the most badass songs ever, loved it when they used it in the 2019 Godzilla movie so perfectly.
One of my top 20 bands ever. These guys sound fantastic
Liked them before, love them now. Such survivors and makes me appreciate their talent every time I watch/hear them
And Buck still have dem chops!
Crisp, Clear, and excellent recording of this tune !
That subtle guitar feedback as the song kicks off is such a nice touch. Could be used in Foley art for a Godzilla flick. Probably when he tears down a suspension bridge.
I.just watched the Godzilla movie with Raymond Burr on Svengoolie and had to look up this song. This is a great version of Godzilla. I have been a fan since the early 70's. Still going strong! 💜😁
GODZILLA is coming again on Svengoolie this Saturday October 22, 2023. Sven is have double features during the month of October!
Greetings from Finland to one of my all time favorite bands that's still going strong.
Right on

Saw these guys in 1977 In Indianapolis. Was killer. Had the coolest laser show
Chris I also saw boc in 77' before the feds cut the Lazers ,lol ! In New Orleans Louisiana USA Earth.later rob
A paralyzing monster riff fitting for the title and a helluva opening riff at that! Thats creativity!🤘 hearing that just gives you that sense that some 💩s about to go down!🤘
Awesome performance!!!
Love this song!
What kind of axe is the leed guitar player “Buck” playing? i saw boc in 83 at a county fair in MI. Best show ever by far not even close!
WOW...just WOW!!!!
Work ethic has been incredibly timeless! Secret treaties will Never be topped !!! I put the boc sign around w Germany early 80s andsprayed it on the hood of my 76mercury runabout! I got laid in that hatchback, I had boc playing maybe that's why, damn! A simpler world 🌎...

I saw these guys when they were the warm up band for Uriah Heep in Philly back in 1975 !!
Wow , I was young when this song came out . I saw BOC arena rock the 80s .

Every album every song none better than BOC
0:48 damn, i love that
Great. 🖤
Seen BOC in Denver the night black Sabbath cancelled on the black and blue tour! Ears rang for a week! Denver still has the noise ordnance law from that night! The friend and I still start talking shows with that one!
Excellent video.
EPIC!
Great band can't wait to see them in 2 weeks
How the fuck is BOC not in the R&R hall of fame?
I fucking agree! They should have been inducted in the year Black Sabbath was inducted ! Remember the Black & Blue concert and movie?
They don't need it. They're in their own category.
They are overqualified.
Who tf takes RnR hof seriously anyway
@@johnecker4217I attended the tour stop on black and blue in oregon state. Great great tour! Dio with Sabbath incredible!
Saw them in 1982 in Eugene Oregon at actin stadium.

Kick ass band
Long Live the King.
damn totally fine performance
Thanks BOC that's peace subscribers.
Saw these guys back in the day
those Taye drums sound good ... good drummer too
This and Sabbath’s Iron Man were my favorites as a kid cause I loved both of the characters as a child!
I think I'm in love with Danny Miranda. Or maybe it's the bass.
I worked at a DA’s Office for 5.5 years outside Philly. Every Monday morning I started off with this song to make sure everyone was awake, and to catch up with what the ‘monsters’ had done over the weekend. These guys held up well. ✝️🩷🌸😆🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍
great music now i gotta look up humble pie & grand funk railroad to name a few
Don’t know much ab blue oyster cult but I love to think writing this they were like ‘yo that giant lizard is kinda cool, here’s a song ab him with some awesome guitar licks’
works like a fine wine
bono so good at playing the guitar
2:30 Godzilla bassman Kasim in the House!!!!
Saw them in the 70s in Rockford Illinois..at the Rockford Speedway. Prefaced by J Geils, Foghat etc. followed by Nugent…Aerosmith was the final act..
Dammm, that was some lineup!! (except forget Nugent)
Godzilla is a great start and Nosferatu is a great finish 🎉
Awesome ❤️✝️🇺🇸
Buck is a beast! Still!
Holy shit that outro is amazing
Go, go Godzilla!!! BOC Shohei is the new Godzilla! CG
...true metal
Lock down video is the best version I think...
Long live the king
I'm wondering how many of these guys were present at the St. Paul Civic Center in February 1976 at my first ever rock concert performing as BOC???
Just Eric Bloom and Buck Dharma. All the others band members present now are from 2000/2010.
