Used to be able to dance around Stonehenge back in the day to this.....when you could just go in around the stones....no fences etc...... this may be my funeral song....hopefully not too soon, lol.....but when it happens my kids have instructions to float me off there to this perfect song....
This is a song that I remember from my teenage years. Now it’s giving me new hope as I’m going through a very rough time in my life and I’m struggling with the dark demons of depression
Hope your depression has improved, Ive struggled with it my whole life. As others have said there's always light at the end of the tunnel, Stay strong.
I'm 65 years old and have been to at least 15 blue oyster cult concerts. The first time was in my high school graduation party. I saw them in 1989 with black Sabbath the cult played first they played (The last days of May) for the encore!!!! Then Ozzy came out and Sabbath bloody Sabbath.... The crowd bood them off the stage!!!!!! The cult came out and played another show!!!! I saw them in Baltimore with Uriah heep and stepenwolf... That's right... ROCK & ROLL.....
@@mennobults6464i am 27. And i barely found out about this song maybe 6 years ago lol barely as if that wasn’t a long time ago 😂 but yeah i was around 21
I whole heartedly agree - best version of this great song. And the lyrics attach to Time, Space, Life, Death, Love. What a metaphysical, existential masterpiece. And saw them live in about 1972 at a small auditorium at the Univ of Tennessee. Who knew what was going to follow.
Yes,seen them in 98 just weeks after I turned twenty, saw them again in 03,2012 and 2015 they are number one on my top five favorite concert attendances with Santana being number two,Trans Siberian Orchestra number three, Robby Krieger number four and Ted Nugent number five.
If there was a text book stating how a band should perform and how a lead guitar solo should sound ( beginning around 4:40 ) then this is it….Chapter 1. Amazing!
I read many comments about how this band is extremely underrated, and it is true, but never forget that many extremely famous rock musicians were inspired by BOC and recognize them as one of the best rock ‘n roll bands to ever roam this planet.
No matter how many times i listen to that solo , just gotta here it one more time . Like a cook in a kitchen , recipe for success , full of flavor . Think we all lived off the 3 chord combo meals back in the day . Foundation of the greatest rock tunes ever made . Still wrestling on whether D C G or Am G F holds top spot ? So many outstanding compositions created from both . Today i go with the latter
When i first sat down and decided to learn this song i didnt realize just how ecotic the scales are . I started playing along and i had to stop and really listen close to figure it out . This song like this band is very underrated . I saw them in Tampa Fl . on halloween night playing in the street . I was standing no more than 10 feet away . It was killer . Great song .Great band .
Wow, this might be my favorite performance- love watching the versions throughout the years - my God this one has crazy energy to it! Double metronomes, time ticking away - wish I could share this reaction with Chucky Tester - miss you man!
Omgggggg....l wish l could've been there!!!!!!!.....what a great times & video! And song that will always be one of the best....For that and more...this is why l say: live your life...like if you are going to die the next hour!!!... Around this time, I saw them perform at Buffalo Bills Casino in Primm NV just outside of Las Vegas. Awesome concert, mediocre venue. Love this band. Timeless song. This and Burning for You.
BOC played our state fair a few years ago. The fairgrounds were next to the rec center where my son was having his karate class, so I sat on the lawn and listened to the show.
Reaper is either cheerful goth girl or tall skeleton which speaks like lead slabs were dropped to marble floor that mortals hear as deep, charismatic voice of Sir Christopher Lee. In both cases they provide necessary service.
日本でブルーオイスターカルトの存在を広めたのはこの曲「死神」でした。それ以前はヘビーメタルファンに認知されていたレベルでした 。「On Your Feat or on Your Knees」で 出会ってから随分年月が経ちましたが、近年の動画配信の充実により当時の演奏の様子だけでなく最近の様子も視聴出来て大変嬉しく思っています。
A little Blue Oyster Cult tidbit Back in the 70’s BOC would play small club shows on Long Island using the name Soft White Under Belly if I remember correctly! I’m from Long Island and saw them as Soft White Under Belly somewhere in Suffolk County NY for the life of me I can’t remember where due to a hit of 4 way windowpane acid, And I went all four ways!! Ha Ha The Best of Times
Buck and Eric are just great , i cant count how many times ive seen em. Super show every time....Bucks guitar playing is outstanding , Opinion , better than Clapton and many others

One of my favorite songs of all time. This song has so much meaning to me.
I’m always amazed by that guitar every time I hear it. It has a totally unpredictable melodic progression and sounds like absolutely nothing else.
This is a song that I remember from my teenage years. Now it’s giving me new hope as I’m going through a very rough time in my life and I’m struggling with the dark demons of depression
Me too 😊
Hang in there brother. Remember this:
Nothing lasts forever! This is just temporary! It means better things are coming into your life. ✌️
Hope your depression has improved, Ive struggled with it my whole life.

Never give up. You always have HOPE and prayer and GOD. There will always be tomorrow for a new day. I hope you get better.
Hang in there friend… you are not alone. Music can help us thru the darkest times.

Buck Dharma.
This song was written about being diagnosed with a heart defect and not being afraid of the future. It was not written about depression nor suicide.
Hit the charts the week my mother died. Ultimate timing. Not a sad memory. She wasn't afraid either
And it Rocks ❤
