Awesome video man thanks. I actually used this as a guide to see how easy it would be to get to the BCM which is that white box you can see right behind the glove box. Appreciate you video!
Dude, your doing just about the same thing I did way back in 1977 with my '71 Plymouth Duster. I completely gutted it, removed the carpet & pad, headliner, seats, dash pad, heater core, wipers and wiper motor, etc, there was nothing left. Dropped in a built 440, Hooker fenderwell headers, 727 torqueflight, 8 3/4 rear axle with 5.38 gears on a spool, Centerline front runners with 5.60x15 tires, and huge Goodyear slicks on the rear. I also kept it registered so I could drive it on the street with tire wheel swap. I regret selling that car in 1985 to this day. When my 1320 gets here I'm never selling it...
Wow, I haven't quite gone that far yet. I definitely don't have any plans on ever selling mine either. So in 20-30 years all of my interior will still be like new since it'll just stay stored inside my house!
I haven't purchased my Challenger yet. However I'm here because I plan to do some major audio changes and just learned how to remove the glove box. Now I have a visual what I'm working with.
Awesome! I bought a bunch of stuff and started watching how-to vids on Challengers before I ever got mine too. Thanks for watching and glad it could help!
That's an OBD "secure" STAR connector. I believe the green connectors are secure (security gateway circuit) while the white connectors (found in trunk) are unsecure. You can plug zauto bypass cables into these.
That’s one of the CANBUS junction blocks that newer Chrysler vehicles have been using. There’s one on the drivers side and other on the glove box for main control of the vehicle data system
Thanks! I've been learning a lot about it recently. 2 of my friends just had their Challengers broken into to try and steal them. Luckily in both cases the thieves got spooked before they got away with it but they left this block dangling after they ripped off the cover under the glove box.
@@Scavenger1320 this exact situation just happened to me, do you know how your buddies went about getting it repaired? What is the point in stealing this system?
@@andrewhenry8049 They're not stealing the system, just accessing the car's computers through it in order to get the car started and drive away with it. The fix was just to fasten it back and replace any of the torn/damaged parts. I have heard of some people getting some kind of custom case to put around it, otherwise there's kill switches and things like the IGLA security system.
On the Challengers thats on the passenger side under the cowl behind the hood. I made a short showing it a while back, you can see it here: ruclips.net/user/shorts8uBorA5lxbw?si=gQzLl18_UPHRt5Di
Get some Stainless works headers and remove your whole exhaust system and just leave headers by themselves you would lose like 80 pounds plus the headers and tune get you some good extra horses
I thought about at least removing the exhaust system from the cat back and dumping it, but before I do that or any performance mods I'm trying to hit my 1/4 mile time goal with a completely stock drivetrain. I'm sure I'll get headers eventually though, just have to get that number first.
Ah! That has to be it! Thank you! I took it apart (I'm an amateur) and couldn't figure out what that was for! Thank you!! I was afraid there was a moving something that I couldn't figure out where to put it and then my climate wouldn't work! =) @@Scavenger1320

So now ive these repo guys down who literally followed me for 5 hr drive back from work and know exactly placed. Lucky for me im in security so im behind gates and im access control. Niether here nor there; these people are relentless. Ive caught up so far as far as my payments for my car. Still im not trying to have people tracking me especially if i fall behind. My goal is to guilt trip yall; this is a situation. Any recommendations on where someone can put a gps tracker device?
a LOT less! Some people have spent several thousand to gain less e.t in the 1/4 than I gained for less than one, not counting wheels and tires since you need those whichever route you go.
At that point it's no longer drag racing... it's a 100 meter dash or something like that and my knees couldn't handle that. I think I'll at least keep the wheels on along with a motor to turn them 😂
@@M3MPH1SM0J0 If I ever get to where I don't have to drive it during the summer in Texas that might happen. I did that to my old 97 Ram but that was over 20 years ago. I can't take the heat like I used to lol
@@Scavenger1320 I’m considering doing it with mine. It’s evolved into a pretty much only race car. I’m curious how much weight would be lost if the system was deleted though.
@@M3MPH1SM0J0 wild guess is around 40 pounds. The compressor is going to be the heaviest part obviously. But its all also right up towards the front of the car. So even at just 40 pounds it'll make a pretty big difference for weight transfer.

Loved when you said I might be crazy! But I agree since you bearly have interior. Why not keep on going!

That block is a CAN network block for communication

Ah, ok. I've heard of this STAR connector before. Guess this will save me a step then if I ever get my trans tuned or try to start data logging.
I might be getting a little crazy. Lol. 😂

I still have a few things but yeah, I'm definitely starting to run out of things without truly going extreme.
Where's the cabin air filter, they say its located behind glove box. My Ac is not getting as cold as it did last year

Yeah recommend it bro I removed exhaust system and just left my kooks headers with my Demon ran my personal best
You could’ve put tape on the light button
What is the sliding thing on the back of the glove box housing? Round and is spring loaded.
I believe what you're referring to is the retractable lanyard that clips onto the right side of the glove box door
