Nice fellas…….
That pruning job was skillfully done! I’ve used the IBC tote set-up and you’re right it’s awesome way to move chips. You’ve taught me the top branches of a tree are no place for a fat guy😂 Chris (In The Wood Yard) and I just dropped a 200+ year old black oak and I can’t believe how great the wood is. Now that’s premium firewood!!!!!
Lol hey there Tony! Thanks for watching, I saw that video you and Chris did, black oak is some good stuff for sure!!
Hello Jake and Chris, Great job just 🐝 careful they are everywhere around here now🚜🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
Yep they are all coming back for spring!
Wow what a project! Impressive to say the least! Once again very happy with the voice over commentary as it makes the video so much more informative. Curious as to how you got the ropes up into the tree to start?
Glad you enjoy it, allows me to convey more detail about what we are doing. We get the ropes up there using a throw ball. Basically a little canvas sack filled with buck shot attached to a very thin but strong string. Throw it into the crotch we want then use it to pull up the larger ropes.
@@DudeRanchDIY Excellent!!! Great intel!!!
Great job.....takes me back when I use to climb trees in the Dominican Republic as a kid ....no ropes! Yeps.
Yikes!! No thanks!!
Jake & Chris: An other good show. Wish there was a clip or two of Chris feeding that IBC tote with the chipper. Looks like he may have done it once or twice before. Catch you on the on the next one!
Thanks Howard! Chris is definitely familiar with the WoodMaxx!
I thought you'd use the Hatchet and Chinese saw some. How are they holding up and when is the next review of them?
I didn’t climb with the hatchet here because I was making a lot of larger cuts requiring my topping saw.
Wow, one handed chainsawing. Always thought trees needed to be trimmed in the winter = Interesting.
Nope, large mature deciduous trees can be pruned year round. The only reason you would wait is if you wanted to see flowers on say a flowering dogwood or cherry for example.
Keep up the great work and videos guys
Thanks William!
Maybe you can help me, I've been following your channel for about a year and I see you are ambassador for rugged made, I have a 24 inch 737 that was bought new in September of 20 , after about 4 cords of splitting both valves started leaking, not even a year old, they sent me out the new setup with the hoses and valves, I split about 1 more cord of firewood at the end of 21 it sat for a few months because it was bad weather, I started splitting again about a month and a half ago, the main valve for the cylinder started leaking on the back side after sending them pictures of the hose setup they sent me out another new valve, weather was bad so I didn't use it , put the new valve on Thursday, after about 1/2 cord of splitting and about 1/2 hour the new valve started leaking after leaving messages and about 30 phone calls I finally got ahold of Laura, told her the problem and said she would look into it and call me back, as of Friday after trying to call all day, leaving voicemails no callback, messages or anything just get recording they are helping other customers, they need to take care of the existing customers, I have bought 2 of there splitters over the last 2 1/2 year's, is there any way you can help me out getting them to fix my problem, the horizontal/ vertical one has no problems but this other one works great when not leaking, I would really appreciate it if you can help me, thank you,
Hi Larry I’m very sorry to hear this. Although I never had any issues with my stock valves I have heard that newer machines have had issues with them leaking…I’m not sure what @ruggedmade is doing to fix this issue. There are high quality valves available online made by Prince that will be direct bolt on replacements both in regular form and auto cycle like I have. I will get in touch with the guys from RuggedMade and mention this issue!
@@DudeRanchDIY thank you very much
Hey Larry, I apologize and am sorry to hear about your issues. I will be getting in touch with our customer service team today to find out what is going on. Someone will be reaching out to you soon.
