i couldn't agree more with the importance of this work given the flash-flood situation. you just never know when it will be needed and it is too late when the rains begin.
Looking good. If you want to keep a clean edge on the side closest to you, use the bucket to push the material away and into the ditch, then scoop it out.
Yes like Matt said if you, cut the front bank with the bucket edge before you start your cut on the back it will help a lot in making the front look more uniform.
Those corrugated pipes you guys are coming across are likely to be drain tiles. Similar to French drains designed to dry out wetland. You may want to put in some new drain tiles that could possibly be the only thing to dry out the backyard.
No, because it was simply hearsay that it was even there in the first place. Wasn’t worth disrupting the berm to maybe find a clogged pipe that wasn’t doing anything anyway
Not that its any of my business but, I hope your taking some of the profit money and putting it into a vanguard account for growth, get to a certain point and compound interest starts taking over, could be like selling 25 cords of wood without doing anything.
Great job jake. And Pete!!!!!!!

Curious. Did y`all find the drainage pipe under the berm and dig it out?

I've had a Vanguard since I was 13. I heavily contribute to it.
Try and get in the habit of backing off the trailer. You'll find it much easier and less bouncing around.
I’ll try that!
