Hello Jacob. Thank you for this Mayan Rainforest climbing video. We appreciate so much that you and Kevin come with us to this academic trip to the jungle. Also we are very grateful with Arbsession, AllGear and Hamm’s Arborcare. Thanks for you decide to come a share your expertise with us. My students and I are very exited to see this memories about our 2022 trip.
You bet Jorge Mario “Inge”
I think I know why Kevin brought you along. You are a good story teller, have a large audience, and a great guy to hang out with. What you and Kevin did for these students will have a long-term impact on their careers and their understanding of canopy biology.
You’re exactly right. I even ended up adopting him as a second best son on the trip. What a bonus😂😂😂
Agreed, well said .... Jacob is a real asset to human kind.
Great video! So awesome! Glad to support those students doing the canopy research. Any time you have students looking in areas that haven't been studied very well, they are bound to find something unique that will hopefully be published for all to learn from.
Thanks Arbsession for all your support. It means more than you’ll ever know!
Amazing video! Also, as an FYI, the rules vary based on airline and destination, but in this case if you would've sprung for First Class tickets your 1st and 2nd checked bags would've been complimentary and could've been 70 lbs. each!! Then you would've only been paying for the 3rd, 4th and 5th bags. But either way, it was a successful trip!
I’m a Michigander and have been very fortunate to have done tree work in Belize and Columbia. Both were vastly different and wonderful! I’m also 30 yrs old and love watching your content dude. Keep up the great work brother!
This is great stuff, Jake. Your dream of telling the stories of tree people around the world is really coming to fruition.
Jake: Your laidback disposition and amiable attitude certainly put you in a special category in my book. Thanks to Kevin for inviting you and all the sponsors and students that made this video Oscar-worthy. Wonderful !!!!! Jimbo from southeast Texas
This is the most awesome thing ever. Your out there helping students and climbing the trees at the ruins of the inca peoples. You gotta be on top of the world now dude!! Your video production is really really impressive and you definitely have a big fan here mate. Well done!!
Mayan peoples…important technicality 😆
@@GameofTrees i get inca mayans and aztecs confused all the time 😞
Damn this guy has such love for cutting trees, silly idea of touring around cutting trees seems to be working out great, hope it takes you even further, love seeing where you were and where your going, I’ve never even cut a tree down but watch every second of every video of this guy 😂
Thank you so much!
Your videos are so professionally done. I think your skills are just amazing. Thanks for all of your amazing documentary’s. Your work is very very appreciated.
This might be the coolest video of yours that I have watched, and I have watched a lot of them. Awesome seeing tree work being more than just "tree work". Great job man
Jacob this video is amazing! You and Kevin worked hard but also had a good time. Sorry you got stung by bees but you look no worse for wear. What an adventure ! Thank you for teaching others what you do. When I first started watching your videos you were teaching the difference in the ropes you use to climb and protect yourself. You are a natural born teacher and you are in your element. Can’t wait to see the next video. Glad you are back home safe and sound.
Kevin is an incredible teacher. It was so nice of him to invite you.
Thanks Diann, for your kind words.
@@kevinhammatgameoftrees7080 You are very wekcome Kevin!!
This video was surreal, what an amazing experience, thank you for sharing it with us. Truly amazing.
What an awesome experience Jacob. Something very few people in the world will ever get an opportunity to do. Glad you got to do it and that you brought us these amazing videos.
You are a good man, Jake; Kevin makes things look easy on a rope, I noticed the body suit he had on. To go and see firsthand beats sitting on the couch any day, I was with you up to the bugs and bees. Teaching others to climb safely all starts on the ground with having good gear and patient instructors. Having sponsors that support your work is over the top, I'm sure the Mayan Rain Forest Climbers will take care of the new gear and put it to good use for many years to come. Stay awesome and safe.
I don't know what I enjoy more your patience and kindness or your ability to be out of your comfort zone and willing to work and teach don't ever take it for granted I don't even know you and I'm proud of you keep up the good work you're great at what you do you have the motivation to pursue your dreams provide for your family and share with the rest of us that's a lot to be proud of and thankful for
ohh boy howdy!
aand then some.
I'm just blown away. What an amazing stop on your new saga. Congratulation man! You deserve this. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, Jacob, that was awesome, seeing the Myan Rainforest and the Mayan Temples from the treetops was amazing, what a trip.
What an awesome adventure. Really great seeing another part of the world. Was really nice of Kevin to bring you along for the ride
Amazing video, this is documentary quality. Better than some of the Viceland documentarys I've watched. Keep up the good work!!
Wow, Guatemala and Mayan ruins - not to mention the special breed of nasties and creepy-crawlies in the trees! You did great Jacob, kudos to you!
jacob!? you nvr cease to amaze.
im always caught by just how blesst you are. and how greatly you bless all those with whom you interact. quite a mission, and such fellowship.

What an awesome experience! Thanks for bringing us along for the ride.
Looking forward to whatever you have planned next.
You are so awesome with everything that you do.
Coming from a climber of 15 years and going.
The Florida vids had me laughing as I have a tree service down here in fort myers I loved it keep up the great climbing knowledge and content bubba.
Off the limb tree service out 🙏
Thanks for a great video. I have been to Guatemala twice to do and help with research. The people and the forest there are wonderful. If you think it's hard to get there, try French Guiana. One of the beatles that you had in your hand was a Paslisde beetle, one of the best neotropic workers of that group lived-in Guatemala, he has recently passed away.
Absolutely a once in a lifetime opportunity for a simple guy from Seattle. Thanks to all the sponsors and Kevin
Kevin looks like one of my favorite modern actors....William Defoe. Awesome video Jacob.
Wow climbing in the jungle awesome! Teaching the trade to students who may help change the course of how we care for the jungle awesome! And wow not only see the Mayan pyramids but climb trees around them! Another great trip!
What an incredible adventure, thanks for sharing with us.
Just wow Jacob, to see parts of the world I haven't seen before and the different kinds of creatures that came across. Very outstanding to interact and see different kinds culture. Really enjoyed this video.
Pretty sure OSHA will not be making a surprise appearance.
At 34:00. I can sympathize with the bees, ants and beetles. I found the same when climbing trees doing an orchid survey in Fiji near Suva in 1991. Climbing to the tops of both jungle trees and tall trees growing in tidal swamps. Not fun with the ants and bees!
However, I did discover 6 new species of orchids and prove a wider distribution of another from the Solomon islands to Fiji 😁😎
Oh and I was only an amateur Orchid grower but worked with a few of the big orchid researchers of Australasia and Pacific. All done with CITES permits and clearances.
When? Where? What? And How? You just lived my dream!! Every part of me is excited for what you did, the opportunity you gave and were given. Amazing!! Good job and congratulations!!!
Now that was a badass adventure. Great job. Both of you...
Outstanding. Of course you had to flash a fast descent out at the end to a round of applause.
It’s a whole different world over there! Thanks for the great content!
This was an amazing film Jacob! you honestly should have a full fledged reality show or something, what a great adventure to get a glimpse of.
Great work!!
This is absolutely amazing. Well done to all of you. And thank you for educating all of us in this interesting video. God bless.
What a great showcasing of a beautiful journey. Keep it up! Also interviews with some of these people! plz

What a wonderful video 📹 from the rain 🌧 forest. So much information about the world 🌎 we don't know 😕 🤔 thanks to you for doing this. You are great American citizens 👏 💙 👍 ❤ 😊.
I subscribe to 50+ channels, this video has been one of the best I have seen all year, Thanks Jacob
what a wonderful service, and experience! Kudos
Don't know why I get emotional watching certain videos. This is certainly one of them. I'm usually very direct, almost insensitive in my comments on most issues. Thanks for taking us along all the way down near the tip of South America, dude.
I was in Tikal 25 years ago. it was beautiful. I was on top of all of the big temples...at sunrise with the monkeys screaming back and forth.
I seen the short you posted weeks ago of you guys making the gum and have been excited to see this video since that day. Heck, that was back when you'd posted the second video on Norway
Another brilliant video of an amazing adventure as an arborist, judging by the look on the students faces they enjoyed being part of the experience.
Great trip, thanks to all for putting this together--nice to be able to leave knowledge that will grow.
Hey. You were teaching up a tree. Where was your clipboard, your coffee and the little blue cubes?!? 🤣 Been catching up with your videos. You're something special and this was indeed epic. Hats off.
Awesome video Jake you look like your having so much fun minus the stings. If you fancy sending one those climbing bags of gear my way I'd love to get one and learn?? 🤔🏴👍
What an Amazing video Jacob!! So cool to see your adventures!! The Bees and Ants I'd be down the tree too!! You never said how the Gum tasted?🤔🤔Great Video!👍🏻👍🏻
Howdy Jake, what an experience getting to work and travel in Guatemala! I was blessed to go on a church mission trip in 1991 to Coban. Totally different experience as Coban is in the highlands of Guatemala. We had a trip planned to go to Quetzaltenango and down into the jungle part of Guatemala to experience the difference in climates. However that part of the trip was canceled, as at that time there was guerrilla activity that made it to dangerous. I wasn't attacked by ants, bees or what appeared to be scarab beetles from the movie the Mummy but did get bitten by some bedbugs. Thanks for documenting and sharing your trip as it as brought back some wonderful memories of the beauty of the people and country of Guatemala. Have A Day! ;~)
Wow. What an experience. Amazing!
Love the content, pls could you do a video on your everyday climbing setup for cutting tree tops etc and which gear you recommend I'm terms of assecndors etc,Cheers.

The tree keeps going between climbs. I'm laughing because I've watched you for so long I started sharing your video as "check out my friend Jacob" then I have to qualify it as my YT friend 😆
Wow!! You just lived out one of my dreams!!!!! Absolutely amazing trup and video, although we didn't get a verdict on the chewing gum 🤔🤣👍👍👍👍
This an amazing video congrats. You must be so proud, I think you are a great teacher, your patient with the students and you look in your element. Your best yet. stay safe J.(John)

Love the channel and content 👍👏
Thanks for bringing us alone! Great adventure!
AWSUME video and TRIP!!!! Your BEST!!!!
You2 are very lucky GUYS!!!
Shocked you went into the rainforest with a 2WD truck on street tires lol. Ballsy.
That was freaking rad!! What a wonderful opportunity. Great editing job.
40:40, Oh my God....haha what a great scare for the students. Fun Video Jacob, Keep it up!
That had to be one of the most satisfying incredible experiences!
Another great video Jacob!! I have been waiting for this one for awhile since I have seen an the teasers on Instagram.
You are a great teacher and should consider marketing yourself as an instructor to help new climbers and new tree companies gain the skills to move to the next level.
Great footage!!! You'd better be careful around Chicago, Jake, you're kinds fitting right in with that homeless look, lol!!
How was the gum? And what an awesome opportunity u got. Glad u enjoyed your time there. Bet it was weird climbing all those trees and not cutting anything. Lol. Can't wait for future videos!
You can see him actually chewing the gum at game of trees😂
I love these documentaries
Very unique video.
Thank you for sharing.
What an incredible experience! Thanks for taking us with you! 👍
Love it! Please try to slow that camera panning. I watch on a 55' TV and it makes me a little queasy. 🤢. Lol
The truck is so common in Australia it's not even funny I see 10 a day! 79 series LandCruiser duel cab. I don't know why they don't have any in the USA! Such a great mine/quarry car
Super cool that you can do stuff like this now. I know a lot of the people who watch this channel just wanna see chainsaws running and trees chopped down but a lot of people wanna see stuff like this too. I wish you the best of luck in the future so you can continue to give us all of the above lol.
Hi there next time you go there you may want to go to quetzaltenango or huehuetenango I think you will like there very very big trees most trees are almost the same like trees here in Atlanta GA same name and tree just with a variable look is far away from the Coast so no to much insects there just mosquitos
What An AMAZING VENTURE..
Pretty Damn Special..WOW
Wow! Such an incredible journey you are on. Great video Jacob!
What an adventure and great opportunity to share knowledge. By the way, how was the gum??
Absolutely amazing video. Thank you so much for sharing all the great content. What an amazing video you all produced. Many thanks to Kevin and all who made this video possible. Such a contrast from all the bickering and squabbling we normally see in the "so called" civilized world. Great content. Thank you all.
I'm looking forward to the day when I've saved up for a set of climbing equipment.. so I can take some courses
Quizás tu mejor video hasta ahora. ¡Bien hecho! Or... Perhaps your best video yet. Well done!
There's still 3 gum manufacturers that still ues chicle to make their gum yes that's the same latex that paint is made out of I follow a streamer that makes paints just like this and gets the color pigment from different leaves of trees in Singapore she's incredible
You should’ve stayed in Chicago and came and cut some branches off my roof and my chimney, also the branches that are on my side of my fence 🎃😏
IMHO the akimbo doesnt seem that much of an improvement to your "average two handle" setup. it might be a quarter of the size and weight* as the two handles, but personally it seems much harder to use. the two handle method (dunno what its called professionally) was super smooth and you barely went out of breath. each handle is more or less just a line-break with a footsling attached to it. so you put weight on the lower handle, push up the upper. then the other way around. its literally like climbing a ladder and since they were "handles" you dont have to hold the line with your hands. an additional sling from the upper to your belt/chest-rig could be used to just "hang in there". :D
quick search found these "QUICK UP PLUS HANDLE ROPE CLAMP" that look similar to what i used, just 20 years younger.... mine were "full wrap" which made resting your hands in them super easy as well.
* with modern handles, they might be similar in weight an size.
Would you mind trying out different climbing techniques / comparing them for a future video?
Where the akimbo rock is in work positioning
Jacob
You need to star on your own Discovery Channel show.
Awesome video
Thank you
That was a very interesting video thank you Jacob
Badass trip man! looked incredible.
I'm with you on the bee stinging..being allergic, I would have been flying out of that tree
Kevin was holding it down.
Man the ants & Bees. That looked painful.
At the end that was great
Gotcha….lol
Stay safe
That was awesome, your one of the best, keep up the good work.
One word. Terrific.
Hey the timing of this video is so cool for me. I am currently reading the book called "The Arbornaut: a life discovering the eighth continent in the trees above us." By Meg Lowman. Its a really great book and I highly recommend it. She did quite alot for the arborist world I am learning! I love our industry man. Keep up the great content!
Met Meg at the PNW_ISA fall conference in Coeur d'Alene. She was the keynote speaker.
@@rogerbarnett8412 That is awesome man! Thay must have been a great experience. Im really enjoying her book. I plan to get her other books she has written!
What an incredible adventure. Thanks for sharing that.
