It would be awesome to have Sandre come work with you on a job in the US.
A young guy like that could gain so much knowledge and the experience of felling some giant West Coast timber. Kudos Jake and Sandre.
I like that idea
Fund raising idea. I like it.
Make it happen
Jake. Set up a gofundme to bring him to the USA for a week. I’d donate! Watching a novice learn from someone with experience teaches all of us, and it’s always interesting enough I never seem to fast forward.
It's very commendable of you to share your working knowledge with a freshman arborist who's trying to get his business started. I'm sure he will always be grateful that you did this for him.
So great... Great.. respect to husky. Its rare now days to see companies jump through any hoops. Love the history also
Being of Norwegian and Swedish descent...
Truly envious of the Amazing experience you are having there.
HUGE Respect to Husqvarna for stepping in and providing saws for you.
i'm impressed by the young man's willingness to learn
Legitimately interesting stuff to watch. The kid friendly nature allows me to watch with my daughter at dinner time. She’s 1 and can’t get enough of it.
There are farming videos that are kid friendly too that I like, 10thGenerationDairyman and TheVeggieBoys.
My humble Norwegian heart is now at peace, so awesome to see you here in Norway!
You really need to bring him to our country and show him some of the BIG trees you cut in your area 👍 What an awesome trip❗🙂
FR, Jake needs to take him redwood logging :P
And pay for his plane ticket
21 and starting his own business, mad respect for the young man! Beautiful place.
I was thrilled Jacob when I saw the title of this video. I love to see you "branching out" around this planet.
It's awesome that you were able to help him gain some confidence in what he's doing as a single operator.
Your humility strikes again. Good job buddy. Stay humble and kind.
Nice of Husky to send you the saws, 372 has always been one of my favorite saws. Those battery saws are really nice now
Norway 🇳🇴 is so beautiful 😍. I love how our Scandinavian brothers speak English so well. Hej min norske bror. Tack för att du delar med dig av detta äventyr. Någon gång hoppas jag att få besöka ditt land.
Same size trees as my backyard in California! 😊 It was cool to see techniques applied to smaller trees. Super educational for a backyard arborist like me.
The intro music complimented that beautiful countryside perfectly. That was really selfless of Sandre to bring you out there, its nice to see young people in the world like him!
Pretty cool! Enjoying your travels. We need more collabs... Pat @ Educated Climber, Dan @ Climbing Arborist, Reg, Buckin'... Be some excellent content. Great job!
The tree in the beginning of the video is a Alnus glutinosa
I thought it was a beech tree.
@@Christ0o It is actually of the birch family, but this is definitely (black) alder (common name for Alnus glutinosa). It grows near water, has an important role as pioneer species in wetlands as it is nitrogen-fixing, and older trees help sustain river and stream bedding with their root systems. Beech is pretty uncommon in Norway; it only really grows in the far south around Oslo.
@cvbattum thanks for the information I'm no expert on tree identification, although I think I'm half decent at it as both my parents are foresters. But that's for trees that we have in west wales so I don't know mutch about trees in more northern regions.
@@Christ0o I believe you have these in Wales too, they're super common all over europe! The have deep green leaves that look stunningly fresh in spring and quite dark in summer. The catkins are these dark brown tough little balls that kinda resemble pine cones, and if you cut into the bark you should see a reddish-orange color from the sap. The leaf shape resembles hazel a lot, but the leaves are sturdier and where hazel is matte and a little fluffy, these are glossy and slick. They grow like crazy, I've had to cut hundreds of them on my parents' property in eastern France.
@cvbattum thank you very much!
Such a beautiful country, and Sandre was a great host. I've been looking forward to this one for a while. I hope this exposure will help him grow his business.
Great video Jacob! Norway is beautiful! Sandre was so nice to invite you to stay in his home. You work well together. I am sure he learned a few new things from watching and talking to you. Very much enjoyed all the history surrounding that home and its occupants, thank you for sharing that.
Love your editing process either with conversation from go-pro to go-pro or mounted on a crane to a Bob-cat attachment as you did with Schreiner.
Here, it was awesome to see the firewood cuts but as opposed to waiting to edit until the cut was through move to the next etc you just went from cut finish to cut finish. Keeps us engaged. Not anything you do wouldn't anyway.
👍 to Husqvarna supplying those saws
By far the best manufacturer.
Thanks Husqvarna for providing the saws! Jacob it would been nice to see the other battery saws performance compared to the one you used/have.
Always love to see tree work knowledge shared to those willing to soak it in! Wishing Sandre much safe success in the industry. Hope he makes the $ back soon he spent on your plane fare! 🤑
As a norwegian, i can comfortly say that everything is bigger in america, the pepole, the food and the trees xD
Enjoyed the video. Nice seeing the Norwegian countryside. Good duo working side by side. You helped him out a lot. Nice kid.
Hopefully Husky will let Sandre can hang onto those saws. Great starter pack and probably all he needs for a long time.
I’ve been looking forward to this one! Great work Jacob!
Yeah me too 👍🏽
That was really, really interesting, good for you Jake! Norway is certainly a beautiful country, those water views are gorgeous!
So cool to see you in Norway. I live like 30 minutes from the airport where you ended up landing. Loving the content. And to Sondre: Utrolig kult at du inviterte ham hit til Norge!
Blei veldig overrasket "Norway" i tittelen til Guilty treeson😀
Ja dette er ganske stilig. Fyren dingler rundt i kraner, og så kommer han hit for å kabbe busk :-)
@@tomre2769 That was funny 😄. Nice humor.
He is super young, hope he stays safe and keeps it up. Few more years and he will be awesome. Love the video, man I would love working there.
When you are a small start up, we do things that probably shouldn't be done but are still in my eyes safe. Like using a climb line to rig from.
I see some Monkey Beaver gear in this young man’s future. Seems like a fine young man. What a great experience, Jacob!
good to see you taking on trees from any country :D
Bravo on Husky sending those saws, sweet job.
So cool to see your channel grow like it is. Your creating something much better on your own . Glad to see it .
My fav tree channel by far. I can't say enough about now often I'm telling my buddies at work or run into from job to job on how they gotta check out your channel. Big fan from for a few years now and super cool to see you making it across the pond to show us all diff parts of the world. Your the best.
Thank you so much
Awesome video by the way Jacob beautiful scenery! As of tomorrow morning Monday the 26th it will be my first day with a tree service. I’m becoming an arborist and I’m very very excited. I spend a lot of time watching you and August and hands down you 2 are the reason I wanted to do this. I’ve been watching you guys for over a year and always said to myself, I want to do this. Fast forward a year and look at me… I start tomorrow 🤘
Side note - I have my Monkeybeaver harness picked out and ready to order!
@@JDESTR0Y go for it now because it’s just gonna get more expensive as time (inflation) goes on😢
Love Husqvarna saws! I I'm not a professional but have been running the same Husqvarna saw for 30 years. I heated with wood for 20 of those 30 years. Now I just cut trees for friends occasionally.
When you get to 250K subscribers you need to have Sandre to the west coast for some more small tree work! So cool you had this experience and could share with us.
This is super cool. Hopefully your adventures in Norway last a long time.
FYI - Lutefisk might be a Norwegian delicacy, but most of the worlds supply is made just a few miles north of me, in Oslo, Minnesota.
get your own bloody place names lol
I've been waiting for this one since you posted a short several weeks ago. So fascinating. I'd love to travel there.
Sandre, your country is so beautiful!
You have made a friend for life.
Thank you for teaching a young man how to do things better. Norwegians never quit learning something new and improved. Some are so afraid of a chainsaw. Show respect and understanding goes a long way.
If you ever go over there again, fly into Bergen. You will be amazed more.
I downed about 40 pine and 10 of cherry. In 2009 for a family member. They were amazed that a woman could do such a big job. Did I mention most the tree's were on a 30 degree hillside and about 100 feet tall.
One of my best times over there. 🇳🇴🇸🇯 Tusen takk
really cool video Jake. love the explanations. Sandre looks like he'll be a great tree guy with your guidance. Norway looks fantastic
Finally, the norwegian Video(s) ... that's a happy Sunday for me!
right on Husky for stepping up with the saws!!
This probably wasn't the most lucrative job, but for Andre I'm sure this was incredibly impactful. I'm positive you had a major influence on his future career. I'm sure simply working with you gave him a big boost in confidence, & the tips & tricks you shared will be with him forever.
(😂👍I laughed hard when you were both in the tree & you told him you would peice it out & he would go down & run ropes. He said...ya ya...your da boss)
Really cool video & adventure👍
STAY SAFE
That's awesome! The history of that house the views! And of course a new tree climber friend! I'm sure its awesome to travel abroad and learn new stuff as well as take and teach a few things in other countries!
Hi greetings from Vestfold in Norway. it's so cool to have you here in Norway Jake i hope you have a good experience here. 5min into the video by the look of the leves it may be what we call Svartor.
Alder right?
Alnus glutinosa
6:18 They gave you a 572?! Dang!! That's perhaps my favorite of the big saws!
Very fun video. Nice Norwegian guy. Nice of you to teach him. Beautiful scenery.
Great video and context by the way love what you’re pursuing at the moment
Awesome job! My Great grandpa lived in Sweden and my great Grandma lived in Norway. They met each other over there but didn't start a relationship. They came over to America then met again and got married. I actually came over to their house quite often with my mom when I was very young. Their last name was Thim and that is my first name.
Incredible! What awesome working experiences you've managed to connect into! If you can make it happen, aim for Switzerland. I think you'd dig the forestry industry there.
I believe those 1st monsters y'all cut were beech.
Don't stress, the amount of friction us rock climbers put our ropes through constantly if fairly aggressive.
End of the day, check your ropes before each climb, and you're good to go
Very cool Jacob.
Nice of him to fly you out!
Stay safe
What an Awesome destination to do tree work. Love watching your videos from everywhere you go.
Glad you enjoy it!
That’s so cool to get to do so many different places an meet a lot great people thanks for taking us along 👊
So cool to see you in Norway 👍
I also live on the west coast in a city called Bergen.
There i run a little one man tree company.
All the best 😀
This one was cool, sharing some experience with the young starter-outer, seeing a bit of the world.
37:00 Ash trees were sick for few years twice in last 15 years in Central Europe, maybe it was like that in whole Europe. Maybe now they are dying in USA. But here they didn't die but just slowed growing, 1-2mm growth in diameter per year.
It's amazing and beautiful tree - great fire wood, really hard and with big energy value
That village is so stunning! I would Love to visit there.
That's some breathtaking scenery! I'd like to see some boating footage if you get the chance. See how they get around. Stay warm!
Randy would have made all of those limbs into the truck!!! Just saying!!! 😎Slate is the heaviest, most expensive, and longest lasting roof material. I like Sandre....looking forward to the next video with him!!!! I bet you could get someone to sponsor him and get him to the states for some training/experience!!! He seems very competent. I bet he would have a blast!!!
August needs to send that dude a speed line kit.
Lol! I had a similar thought. Easy for us to give away August’s merchandise, eh? 😂
Great to see you accomplishing your goals and sweet score on the saws
This is one of the videos I would like to give more than one like. Really enjoyed this, and I have just passed the middle of it.
Great video Jake awesome see the big boys are partnering up with u. Guessing you'll be getting keep those saws to add to your collection those battery ones look insane. 🏴👍
I hope you gaive him those saws when you leave, I bet that would make his year! Especially since he saved and saved to bring you and your wife there. Just a gesture of niceness.
Its so fun to se this as a Norwegian
Awesome video, Hello from a norwegian 🤠
Best video yet! Sandre is amazing! Props to Husqvarna as well!
What a fantastic opportunity. Thanks for taking us along on your journeys.
My wife's grandparents are Norwegian, I've always wanted to go to Norway. It looks incredible, kind of reminds me of the western Canadian coastline. I have a few Doug Fir's on my property in Oregon that would blow Sondre's mind 😂
After working for my grandpas tree service for 10 years and now seeing your videos all the time it really makes me want to do tree work again
Great video. Nice to see you in Europe working on my kinda wood.
Norway is such a beautiful country. Thank you gor sharing it with us!
That is a beautiful country, and so neat clean !
What I would love to see is sappy supplies opening a (web)store for scandinavia. In 4 days I have a trial day at a climbing arborist's company to do it myself too, in Norway. And I'm excited.
Good job in Norway. Teamwork !!!😍
Some good advice. Liked the limb walk. Wish youd helped me years back. Nice
It’s the same in english (silage, pronounced sigh-lidge). Just grass/crop cuttings that are usually fermented and fed to livestock/cattle.
I always wanted to take a trip to Norway - but I couldn’t a-fjord it!
Good one☺
Great job showing him what to do. We know you always do the right thing but sometimes we have to use our climb line especially when you're in a totally different country. Great job bud always love seeing your videos 💪🏾
Cool to see you sharing your passion & knowledge with next generation
It's really amazing in this day to have a company offer up their product for you to demonstrate... And then drive it to your location! Way to go Husqvarna!!!
Can you imagine being the one guy when he got to work in the morning. "You want me to drive where?!" 😂 Actually they probably had to draw straws.
Love the history you mentioned at the end
Great video Jake your subscribers have jumped crazy wonderful job man God bless
FYI. The estimated life span of a shingled roof with modern galvanized or stainless nails is 100 years. A lot of the old ones fail sooner because the old nails that lacked galvanization rusted. It's common when the rest of the roof fails to just take down the stone and then redo the subroof (probably not the right terminology) and put the slate back. Some don't because a modern roof is lighter and cheaper to put up.
awesome video I love the way you travel to different countries and different states to do tree work
"did it hit my car?" I'm crying on that one!
Oddly I want to buy a Husqvarna all the sudden!
What a cool experience!! I have relatives in Norway and am 63 or so percent Scandinavian!
I hope one day to visit the statue of Albert Moeskau, he would be my great great grandfather.
I run a 572xp but im just a regular guy who loves powersaws!
Love your content man, never quit!
Love the idea of the traveling the world logging. Very cool! Thank you both…would love to visit Norway.
I'd rather a customer say it's a huge tree and it's one of those... What happens to me here in New Hampshire is they say "oh I just have a couple small trees" and I show up they're 100ft trees with no drop zone that need to be rigged out lol they tend to minimize the job here like it's nothing and I should do it for little money 🤷♂️
Just a couple of Yggdrasils, no big deal.
Second tree looks like tree of heaven
Quite right Jeff. The Vikings belived that the ash tree was sacred. In Norse mythology the Ash tree Yggdrasil held the whole world and even Valhall which was sort of heaven to the Vikings. Valhall was were the gods lived.
Actually looks like hazel and Alder and honeysuckle.
You nailed it👌😉
Everyday plants to me.
When in Scandinavia it's HOOSK-VARNA!
Love your videos no matter where you work
Husky is all we have used here in NW Montana. And my families “Montana-Logging-Business”, uses only Husqvarna.
Life is who you know And what you know.
Lmbo, I drop 75% of my work directly into the trailer, either as you're doing or with a speed line tied off on the headache rack. I'm a one man operation and find the labor savings wonderful!
How nice to see you visting Norway doing a bit of sight seeing in Haugesund too. The shot of our main church at 1:42 is shot 20 yards from where I order pizzas, and the stone cross at 1:49 is from year 935-ish is a 100 yards from my kitchen window - small world huh 😀. Very nice videos with Sondre!
