- After a recent purchase of a projector for my video production business I quickly learned that the quality of your picture is highly based off the screen its projected on. After a few hours of trying to decide should I get a screen or should I paint the screen on the wall and call it a day. While comparing prices of all the latest HD & 4K technology I was shocked to find what this pre mixed gallon of GOLD cost. With Prices topping out at well over $800 for just one gallon of this stuff I needed to dig deeper to find out whats actually in this professional grade screen paint? If your in the same position I was then you need to watch this short video. I produced this video just to pass on what I learned simply because the blend of these 3 different paints worked amazingly, but most importantly the total project cost minus the projector was under $40. This special blend of paint can be picked up from your local Home Depot with the paint numbers I provided in this video.. If you find this video helpful be sure to hit the LIKE button. And by all means SUBSCRIBE!!
I used your your paint mix
And it came out great 👍 I did use 4 coats and mixed the paint a little darker. Thanks 😊
I actually used the same color you used and use this blend portion and worked perfectly thanks for leading me to the right direction, im testing now if just plain matte white paint will be better, but this is the paint mixture i used silver screen paint (32 oz each), 1 sample size of black (8 oz), and 1 sample size of pewter (8 oz)
what paint is this ? what brand?
@@alfredstorck1520 Behr from Home depot
How did it turn out and how large of an area did you paint?
@@rarenomad my screen size is 170in, but i painted the whole room with this blend and changed my screen to just matte white, i like the brighter movies, but the blend gives you very dark blacks
Definitely going to give this a go! How much was the paint in total for the project?
Damn! Sold!❤
This should be an advertisement for noobs who use white screens instead of just painted wall. Matt grey!
Definitely upgrading my wall. Ty so much! 😂😊
Wish you had a before and after shot of the same image as the end.
Thanks for letting us know the paints used but without telling us how much portion to use in mixing, its pretty useless. From the video it didnt look like you used all of the gallon or the black. would be very helpful if you can redo the vider and tell us the mix portion thanks
ruclips.net/video/j_on4M1yx3o/видео.html here is details of a good mix
Make your own video then
@@ronporter5070 heres the blend, thank me later fool, silver screen paint (32 oz each), 1 sample size of black (8 oz), and 1 sample size of pewter (8 oz)
@@ronporter5070 theres always a asshole in the mix
for future searchers. This is too dark. Reduce black
Glad I found your video results look amazing and the image really pops. Is there a ratio? Or maybe I missed it as I fast forward through some parts.
Looks even better if you spray it on. Less texture, and lower change of sheen and host spots.
What ratio did you use for the paint? And how many coats? This came out amazing, definitely want to try.
On the Home Depot website there are a lot of negative reviews about thus type of Behr paint. I’m thinking they just don’t know how to do it.
Hello... that looks awesome. Can you tell me how was the proportions of the mix you do?
Its honestly been so long that I don’t really remember.
@@skyviewproductions well damn
½ gallon of silver screen paint
¼ gallon of matte black paint
8 ounces dark pewter paint
Are we just mixing all of the paint into one big mixture ? Or is there a ratio to follow ?
there is a ratio but he didnt show it, i posted it from a different you tube video
½ gallon of silver screen paint
¼ gallon of matte black paint
8 ounces dark pewter paint
Does this paint work well with laser projector? We are reading we need a special screen (expensive) and hoping to find a paint that works similarly.
What is the ratios of the mixture’s?
½ gallon of silver screen paint
¼ gallon of matte black paint
8 ounces dark pewter paint
Just did one. Thanks 🙏🏾
How much viewing angle u have achieved
Is it good only from the front or can the projection be seen laterally?
Hey there... Greetings from Canada!? Your video of How To was for me the most relevant so I just got back home from Home Depot with all the paint you described on your video, easy enough to find but now I am not sure how to mix it meaning quantity of each. On the video it seams to be that you knew what u were doing and did not worry too much about the quantities, if that’s correct could u tell me what u had in mind at the moment and what u wanted to achieve? I hope this message find you well. Thank you again for the video.
That's is a very good question and I'm looking for that answer too....
Did you ever discover a good mix amount?
½ gallon of silver screen paint
¼ gallon of matte black paint
8 ounces dark pewter paint
@@luisjirau2098 ½ gallon of silver screen paint

Looks beautiful,
This is probably an incredibly dumb question: is it possible in your view to use this on a motorized, drop-down projection screen via a paint gun in light costs?
Que cantidades de pintura utilizaste?
🔥
You made a cool video
Can i use normal grey paint?
yes but use water based...grey + a spoon full blue +2 spoon full of silver and done
Good job bro 👌👌👌👌👌
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
please sheare this paint measured step by step thankx
Cómo puso lo negro que le pegó o lo pinto el cuadro
When it comes to projectors why do people need a screen you should have painted all of the wall. Use the projected image
Do I just mix all 3 together?
½ gallon of silver screen paint
¼ gallon of matte black paint
8 ounces dark pewter paint
I just paint the whole wall lol
I bought an 8 1/2' wide screen with remote for $89......
The loud gay music was totally unnecessary
Jesus what is this trash music and sooo loud. Rest was good.
Alr screen and grey paint same give high bright contract sir or grey paint only give only project good not bright and contract sir msg it
You need specific mixture for ALR paint. Only grey like this one will only dsrken picture, blacker blacks, but grey/blue whites. For descent ALR paint with white white and great blacks, you will need mettalic accents, both silver and pearl, pure white matt base, propylene fixative, will be needed to spray instead of rolling. Results are fantastic, but it is more expensive and complicated to make.
No voice so I don't like it
