In my opinion an anti-hero is a hero that uses bad/any means necessarily to achieve a good goal. While an anti-villain uses a positive motivation as a excuse to pursue a bad goal with bad methods. So Stain is anti-villain because he has a positive motivation: desire to fix corrupt hero society. But negative methods (killing) and negative goal (purging the unworthy).

Great video, Animak! Stain has been my favorite villain in MHA so far, but I am kinda expecting him to be supplanted by someone else in the future. It really depends upon how Shigaraki continues to evolve, and what we might still find out about All For One. And I know he's not a villain, but I would really love to see a video on Endeavor at some point. Perhaps wait until the new arc in the manga is over, as it does seem like he'll play a pretty big role in it?
Oh yes. Please! I want to see stain again. His character is very interesting. But I can't be the only person who kinda wants to see a redemption arc for stain as well. Or help the good guys once in a fight or something.
I still think Tomura "Hand Guy" Shigaraki is a better villain or at least a character. I think he shows the most growth in all series. Also imo he has the best motives. He acts childishly at first but in the manga (SPOILERS!) he's a pretty good leader
Xeno_Gamer 9 you mean the rescue of that guy was the luckiest break he could've caught. If not for deku amd everybody else shigaraki would still be at the hideout mad as hell lol
You know if you think about Stain is literally killing people for following the rules. He sees a pro hero and assumes they can only be in it for money, unless like Deku or Todoroki who explicitly say something heroic in front of him. How would anyone who doesn't know his motivations know to do that though? People become pro heroes because it's the only way they can legally save people with their quirks without breaking the law. To some extent he has a point but both his methods and ideology are kind of flawed. He just kinda assumes everyone is a terrible person, taking kind of a guilty until proven innocent approach.
So we don't entirely know why or how he finds the heroes to go after.. I don't think he just randomly kills heroes though. He might do research or have some kind of a 6th sense. Heroes are on the news. He probably watches them and judges their actions.
Exactly he does have a point that should be strived for but his methodology is one of a unreasonable sociopath which fits his persona , and that's what makes him great.
He analyzes every action they do, every reaction, everything from their way to be. That's how he do it. He knows Endeavour is a fake hero because he knows he is selfish, what he did, things like making Shoto.

Neither are good people but being a "better hero" depends on how you weigh their good vs their bad, & I feel like Stain's bad outweighed his good way more than Endeavor's did.

The only thing I kind of disagree with you about is the vigilante mentality. In many ways society is a failure, sort of like with(hands guy) was talking about. Being a hero in this world is a business so expecting people to become a hero base on pure mortals sense of good v evil is problematic in itself . Hero is a voluntary act by making it an aspiring job creates the problem everyone has their our motive is like putting a cube in a circle.
I'd like him to become a true antihero and fight his false followers or at least form his own team of quirk users whom he thinks truly believes in his ideals
Thomas Fernandez I'm not sure if the world is ready to forgive Stain but I can imagine him denouncing Shigaraki and AFO then seeing a schism in the League of Villains, a sort of Captain America: Civil War except among the BNHA villains and the hero society being confused on how to deal with him afterwards
Awesome! Love this, Stain is by far the greatest villain in the Lastest Amines to come. One Villain I would suggest is the Frieza. Even after his defeat on Namik he is still the most remembered, and best revived Villains.
Well in stain's defense, he did try getting his message out by talking to people. Sadly in a world like this people only understand violence, they like to make it so more often then not violence IS the answer. And they like to keep it that way until someone like stain no longer sees a non violent alternative, that or he won't see it as an effective means of achieving his goal.
I wonder what Stain's life was like when he wasn't purging Pro Heroes I wonder where He lived & where He got his money from, I'd love to see more of Him in the future maybe a Spin off manga revolving around Him or he could show up again in the main manga
I just read the MHA spin off last week and I was shocked that Stain appeared there, only his costume was different and he had a mask. Which later on was destroyed by The Crawler.
Love the videos. I just want to comment on one point. Getting financial compensation for your time and energy is something that drives people and inspires people to work harder and go further in their fields. Wanting money and fame is not inherently a bad thing. It's very delusional self-righteous for Spain to pronounce these things as corruption.
Actually, I think Stain gives them final words to choose. Cause before Tenya stopped that hero's death (I didn't say saved that hero cause he wasn't there to save him), Stain said choose your final words wisely. Also, when he got Shigaraki pinned down he stated people show their turret colors when near death. So I don't think he blindly immobilizes or kills the hero.
Anti-Villian Stain: Kills hero's who not a true hero and not randomly killing anyone in his path who is a citizen and kills villain because they ARE bad.
I can't believe I just saw this now! I like Stain. He's awesome. I find his ideals meaningful. These days, people only really do stuff for money. And sometimes, that includes helping others. So I guess that's why I like his beliefs.
Because I don't know where to place this future idea for the future of the anime, I'll just put it here... Midoriya izuku losses to a nomu protecting the guy with all for one. But he tries to take one for all from izuku. The only reason this ability to steal another's works is because it's a fight of wills, izuku fights with his will, grabs the Nomu and pumps all of the nomu's abilities into the boss, or something similar to that, but just a theory on how they end it, but I might be wrong, and this might be completely irrelevant to the video, but figured I'd state this really fast in case they try anything like that since I don't keep up with the manga, just the anime
I think Stain could potentially have a change of heart, especially after the realization that his ideology was being used the way Shigaraki is using it.
Stain is badass. Nuff said. I understand and agree with what he wants but the method he uses...He believes that's the only way to get his message across. Not like he didn't try talking it out first. Dosen't justify it though.
May I use the elements that you mentioned here about how to make a great villain in my own novel? I am thinking of ways to deepen the characters that I am writing about
Tbh I think stain should have become a really popular pro hero so he can have a platform to speak his mind on what a hero really is. He may end up influencing heroes to step their game up like All Might did for example.
What I want from Boku no Hero Academia! Stain returns, he finds All Might and Midoriya and attacks them in a crowded place, Midoriya gets heavily injured and All Might focuses everything he's got to save him and forgets about the civilians. Stain sees that and realizes that All Might is just another "hero", he gets so angry he can't contain himself anymore and fights All Might for real. He kills AM. Midoriya sees what's going on and tries to save the innocent bystanders, but he is ready to burst into tears, he cant do it though, everyone needs to be safe. Stain watches Midoriya saving everyone and gets obsessed with him, thinking that Midoriya is a real hero. When everyone is safe, Midoriya focuses on Stain and fights him. He is still heavily injured, but Stain after his fight with All Might is in bad shape too. He beats Stain, getting close to a kill, but he stops. He remembers that he is a hero. He gets Stain to the cops himself without saying a word. This time, he would never get out of prison. This time, everyone would look for Stain.
Honestly, I got into this anime because of everyone telling me what a unique and amazing villain stain is. I don't agree. I think his philosophies are childish and undeveloped. He is not proposing a better alternative, he is not actually saying HOW the current system is making things worse than the non alternative he is presenting. And people like endeavor WOULD be criminals if they weren't heroes. For people like him it's about his position in society, regardless of whether he is loved or hated getting it. The hero system is a brilliant carrot and stick. It incentivizes good behavior for those with dangerous super powers and weaponizes them against those who don't take the carrot. I am not trying to say a better system COULD NOT exist. But until someone suggests it, this is brilliant. And it does turn some people who only care about money, or status, or power who WOULD be criminals into heroes which is a shit ton better than than condemning as hypocrites and being forced to fight them. Although I will say I LOVE Stain's force of personality. Guy puts off a presence.
i could totally see Stain breaking out and, in seeing how his ideals have been warped and created more villians instead, start to shadow Deku and help him out.
You know the hero society in HeroAca really reflects on our current society in real life, like politics were politicians are bought by corporations as they were "too big too fail", which breeds corruption for self-benefit. Cases like in the United States and certain other countries.
Spoilers I wonder if theyre gonna compress chapters 89-94 to a single episode. The fight itself is 5 chapters long and the next ep title is “The symbol of peace” so it makes me wonder if the whole fight will be the entire episode, or will it go over to the next? They usually use 1-3 chapters sometimes 4 per episode

Good video Animak. Stain is the best character in MHA. I would like to see a video on Toguro if you have seen YYH. Or Aizen.
Frieza
No need to say more
Lurest trash charactor, but if we talking dbz frieza then can't complain
Gary Dragon dbz yes
I don't like Dragon Ball, but I still think he's a really good villain
Stain is my favorite Villain
I think Stain could potentially have a change of heart, especially after the realization that his ideology was being used the way Shigaraki is using it.
Stain is badass. Nuff said. I understand and agree with what he wants but the method he uses...He believes that's the only way to get his message across. Not like he didn't try talking it out first. Dosen't justify it though.
Nice episode,do one for Agami Light(death note)
Around the 9 minute mark I subscribed....
May I use the elements that you mentioned here about how to make a great villain in my own novel? I am thinking of ways to deepen the characters that I am writing about
Sure if you think it's helpful! I'm a fiction writer too 😁
Than you very much AnimeUproar. Your reply means a lot to me. Goodluck with your endeavors
endeavor: has a nose bleed
stain: congratulations you played yourself
9:40 onwards, you also explained what Light Yagami from death note turned out to be lmao
Stain will break out of prison last minute and save the heroes from the league of villains during the war arc
"atleast for now (lenny face)"
KYEHEHEHEHEHEHE
I like your point of view ♥️
Tbh I think stain should have become a really popular pro hero so he can have a platform to speak his mind on what a hero really is. He may end up influencing heroes to step their game up like All Might did for example.
Can someone tell me what episode this arc starts ?
This time, everyone would look for Stain.
you should make a video about tomura's development
Another Anti-hero in a main role , would be Mikazuki from Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans.. ( damm i love this show )
Stain is a top villain and even greater antagonist.
I dont see Stain as a Villain tho, i see him as Anti-Hero
The kind of Hero i see as a villain would be none other than the classy ol' kacchan
Fite me
I detroit smashed that notification bell
Tbh Twice is my favorite villain, he's just so cute in the anime both sub and dub.
What happens if stain drinks his own blood
Does he parallelise himself?🤔🤔🤔
Science
Btw Kirito isn’t home asuna let’s get down
Stain is my favorite villain in the show and its a damn shame he gets captured in the 2nd episode he's in I hope that he'll come back
Honestly, I got into this anime because of everyone telling me what a unique and amazing villain stain is.
You need to cover Johan from Monster and Kira from Jojo's.
Stain is my favorite anime villain
Watashino Kira yoshikage…
Pain from Naruto
Stain is the best anime villan I've seen.
So if Uraraka was face to face with stain she would be gone pretty much?
I love Stain's carector & yes he is twisted by the Hypocrites. I believe he is Awesome
How about Kira?
Pain or obito would so be cool owo or even itachi
You know the hero society in HeroAca really reflects on our current society in real life, like politics were politicians are bought by corporations as they were "too big too fail", which breeds corruption for self-benefit. Cases like in the United States and certain other countries.
Spoilers
I wonder if theyre gonna compress chapters 89-94 to a single episode. The fight itself is 5 chapters long and the next ep title is “The symbol of peace” so it makes me wonder if the whole fight will be the entire episode, or will it go over to the next? They usually use 1-3 chapters sometimes 4 per episode
I thought this was a king of lightning video at first
Wait stain is in S2 And he got captured and now hes back again? Cool
Is stain a anti villain or a anti hero
My favorite villain is hero killer and all for one
