- A BBC newsreader has formed an unlikely friendship with a fox. Radio 4's Zeb Soanes found the animal limping outside his north London home and decided to give it some food. It inspired Zeb to name the fox Gaspard and write a children's book.
His voice is like that of a Disney prince! There's a surreal beauty in the entire situation itself, not just that gorgeous fox.
I completely agree, he has a marvellous voice!
That's why he is reading the news for BBC.
Can’t believe they actually go on fox hunts and harm these beautiful creatures.
Human nature in a nutshell...
Yip, we rip em limb from limb while still squealing like barbarians
Toffs are a different breed
You would change your mind if you owned a farm and they got into the chicken coop and slaughtered all your chickens. City folk like us only see one side of the story.
@@brians132 Don’t bring me or ‘us country folk’ into it. Foxes will go into chicken coops for no other reason than survival. They’re starving hungry, & take out the ‘weakest link’ so they & their cubs can survive. If people care enough for their chickens, they’ll build adequate & safe housing for them, not just throw some netting or wire around them, giving a fox easy digging access, you might as well leave the salt & pepper out with the chickens. Foxes aren’t any bother to farmers, because most have the intelligence to put their chooks away every night & bring them out each day. No one condones the slow, torturous & painful game of fox hunting other than the uneducated plonkers & toffs, who get sick pleasure out of letting their dogs rip a fox limb from limb. That’s not survival, that’s grotesque - & actually banned, but still continues.
Wooow that voice. I want this video to be longer just to listen to this guy talk....
I was thinking the same thing. His voice is so soothing.
Radio 4 if he's still working for them you can listen to him there 🐶
Ladies got the hots for him
My mum had 3 Foxes in the back garden, one of which has stayed on all along, and another has now come back after half a year. They have their own den in the back and are very comfortable around my parents. Im thrilled that there are so many good souls out there who cherish Foxes like yourself. Its not all just Fox hunting in England luckily.
He has the voice of an storyteller
Oh yes...
She knew he was a good person, so she came to him for help. I really like his voice, he has that kind of soothing voice that is good at telling Children's Stories or listening to a Meditation for relaxing and falling asleep.
He is a professional voice artist
We have 5 foxes that come to our garden my wife feeds them every night, saying that we also have cat and they are the best of friends
Wow cool! I had always dreamed of having a pet fox!
You're very good people, guys!
@@nadinekemp646 No, no no! Friends! Not pets! Big difference! 💜
Foxes kills cats.
Tell that to the foxes that visit my garden had the cats and foxes for about 7 years, can honestly say they get along great together
I love foxes..they are magnificent..you are lucky to have this friendship with Gaspard.❤❤❤
Foxes are so beautiful ❤️. Saw a chubby fox running through the snow a few Christmases ago aww 🙊
Beautiful and always good to see kindness. Foxes make truly great companions and are deeply intelligent and empathetic to others and have a sense for seeking empathy in humans.
Foxes are basically small dogs who live outside. There’s some cute ones who live outside in my yard also. Their puppies are adorable 🥰
there’s something completely magical about you two😊😊
All foxes are welcome in my backyard for free socially distant dining.
Why couldn't you just leave it at "welcome in my backyard". Nutter
@@disobeytoday4685 it's a joke not a dick don't take it so hard.
It is physically distant, not social.
there are lots of pitbulls around in London also looking for a snack
And what happens when you stop feeding them, or move? That Fox will still come conditioned that they will receive food from you. As sweet, and cute, and adorable feeding wild animals MAY seem to be, it does them disservice, it makes them dependent upon humans for food, there isn't one thing right about that scenario. Enjoy watching them from a distance, but don't entice them with food. Fox were put on this planet to help balance out the rodent population. A full bellied Fox will have no desire to hunt rodents if you, and other ignorantly feed them so you can feel good. PLEASE STOP! You are doing more harm then you can imagine.
I can listen to him all day without getting bored.
I grew up in London, we never saw foxes when I was a lad. I was back home a few years ago. It had been over 20 years. I saw foxes running wild in my old neighborhood. I was utterly shocked. I'm sure if you went out to Epping forest you might have seen one, or two but not in Kilburn...
Foxes are the least of your worries. London is a dump now. I hate the place despite being b9rn there. Glad I got out years ago.
Background music add another level of grace.
Very cute, very handsome!
This is absolutely beautiful. Wish I had a fox for a friend
Me too. It would be wonderful.
It is but they don't live a long life, i had a special one that would come every night when i called it but the night he stopped coming was the day one was seen up the road having been run over. Still miss him .
@@chrisstephens6673 that turned sad really quickly, perhaps you should warn anyone reading your comments in the future
@@alhf94 sorry if that sounded glum, unfortunately it is true but it wouldn't stop me trying to befriend another given the opportunity.
@@chrisstephens6673 I hope you find another one, you could get a dog, less likely something unfortunate wound happen to it
these stories always make me feel warm inside
BBC: Gives Fox News
Fox News: Is this a joke?
BBC: Hehehehehehehehehehe ...laughs in Finnegan
@saveafox
I understood the reference
Me too
BBC: proceeds with fake news.
Laughs in Finnegan 😂😂😂
What a beautiful story....God bless you man!
I love this. There is a female fox near my house that I fed once about 6 months ago and then a few weeks later she followed me down the road a little but kept her distance :) She recognised me and probably knows where I live haha. A couple of weeks ago I saw her again and I know it was the same fox and she recognised me. She wouldn't come close but hovered and I left her my bagel under a lamp post and walked away a bit and she came and got it. Then I left her with some more. She looked back so I know she picked it up. Poor thing, so raggedy with ribs showing. I hope I see her again. If I could feed her every day I would :(
What a magic wonderful world in which we dwell.
Gorgeous fox.
Australia.
Ditto here in north London and our visitor Mr Foxy, as we call him! They are beautiful creatures!
this had no right being so sweet 🥺💜
what's with the Iberian music lol
Maybe because of El Zorro, Spanish for The Fox.
The fox likes it
Maybe Gaspard has been to Spain on holidays and likes the music...
The music is wonderful, what's the problem??
Gaspard is from Perpignan. Came to London to for a year but met a Scottish fox and started a family. She maintains a Gîte outside Banyuls-sur-Mer and intends to move back there and work as a marketing consultant from home when the youngest cub starts college.
Wow... forget the fox... what a voice! Quality.
What a lovely story.
What a wonderfully whimsical thing to happen for you in your lifetime! Thank you for sharing.xoxo
Wow his voice ,how balanced and narrative like a storyteller.
The formed an unspoken bond, truly magical
Was crying while watching this. So beautiful ❤️
I feed foxes every night and have done for 30yrs as some pass away others foĺlow I find it a privelidge to do so
Thank you for looking after them that is dedication. I just started to feed a group of 7 foxes June last year. I feed them every night as they have babies and all where very thin. They are wild so I respect that, though they know me now. I found out a man locally had been feeding them to for 40+ years hes older than me. Though he was happy when he saw me feeding them as well. Yes I agree it is a privilege. I will keep on feeding them as they are looking a lot more healthy
Beautiful. Animals come with living hearts. Man does not always love unconditionally. Your new best friend. God bless.
Very cute! ❤️
Pls always feed the foxes. Spare them food with what royalties received from the children's books you have authored....Godbless.
His voice is mesmerizing 😍
So beautiful. What a lovely fox. There’s a friendly fox, in a church near me, seems to like too come up to you and say hi.
They are all beautiful. Every animal is beautiful.
Guess what, i have the same story...one day i came back home from work and i saw this poor sick fox....i helped her to recover and now we are friends :)
my drunk ass saw the thumbnail and was like: AWWW he looks so sad. MUST watch
Beautiful video. It's lovely to see such a kind hearted man. Hunters are scum.
Beautiful.
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Its no wonder this 🦊 Fox & cub are drawn to this man. Gosh, that VOICE!!!
Please don't stop talking!
So funny how foxes can live close to humans. The one I met was actually fearful.
Urban foxes have a tendency to self domesticate slightly, humans are naturally inclined to feed them and find them cute, hence why Rural ones are exceptionally rare to see, the Urban fox populations even develop slightly different skull shapes and diets, its been confirmed in a few european settlements I think it was, that foxes kinda initiate early domestication but never proceeded down the path further, and with wolves/dogs being a better and easier domestication option in the past, it never got broadly domesticated for practical purposes, these days them being adorable is enough of a reason and the species overall is arguably better off with humans actively caring for them, being a "wild" animal is kinda...well...they naturally seek humans out and have done so for thousands of years, the tamer they get, the more we can pet and care for them, it is likely they will become increasingly tame to the point where they find themselves in a similarly position to cats
Fearful is the default mode for foxes - not surprising given how big we are compared to them - but some seem more inclined to lose that fear than others; food helps, of course, but even so it seems to me to be down to the individual fox.
@@adolforodolfo6929 I agree, I feed 2 foxes every night, one of them comes so close to me, responds to my voice, the other one continues to run away and seems frightened. Interesting you say it depends on the individual, it seems true with all the creatures I feed. I have 3 regular seagulls, since lock downs, there is one, who comes onto my side roof, _very quietly_ he gets so close, if he could, I'm sure he would come in the window, he looks into my eyes, I talk to him, and when I have fed him I give him a prayer, namaste sign, and he flies off, it took about a week for him to learn and understand namaste, close window, he really gets it. His friend, screeches as soon as he arrives, and he just _doesn't get it_ ~ nor does the little one. Squirrels (comment looking long...) I had a squirrel a couple of years ago that came in and sat on my laptop, it was snowing and I think it wanted the warmth. Out of 5 squirrels one was smart, never scared. Her daughter the next year used to climb up the drainpipe, along the roof, down the wall, into my kitchen go to the drawer and take her own monkey nuts. Out of 4 she was the only one. I have the most amazing photos. All of these creatures have their own personalities, and some are exceptional, just like humans. Sorry so long a comment, I could go on and tell you about the pigeon (!) Take care out there 🙏
@@earthdog9552 In individual animals, it has to do with hormone levels which affect anxiety. The genetic tendency for lower levels of those hormones leads to increased degrees of tolerance for human contact. Reinforced by humans rewarding "trust" with food, there is a gradual tendency (as happened with ancestral wolves for dogs) for subsequent generations of trusting foxes to thrive more in an urban environment. =^[.]^=
As they should be. Any wild Fox that approaches humans has been acclimated to humans and see's them as a food source because some moron fed it in the past. A wild Fox can hunt for anything it needs to eat in the wild even a so called URBAN FOX! Fox are OMNIVORES! Very important to understand!
Beautiful voice
Bless you ❤
Beautiful
him, "i have a fox"
the fox "you know nothing"
It's just adorable😍
Wonderful!
“How poetic this English man is in creating a new friend, it’s so personal and so kind to think outside the physical world of humans vs fox.
“An amazing connection and deeply personal how he can understand fragility and sensitivity”.

What a beautiful man
Love love love this ❤
Loved that background acoustic.
I very recently saw a fox in Lambeth, London. I was mesmerised by the creature and the fact that a fox actually exists in an urban area freely roaming about.
Lovely friendship.
Any idea of soundtrack?
Possibly Acoustic Alchemy?
Love this so amazing
I feed the foxes in our garden every night for the last 3 years. Each year we see new cubs, this year’s lot will be due out soon. But the tamest one I had, a year or two ago, used to watch me through the windows, moving round different windows to track me, until I came out to feed him! He disappeared for a couple of months, came back for just one day, and has been gone ever since. Silly me, but I do miss him and wonder why he went. I do take joy in feeding his cubs / grandcubs, but he really was the loveliest!
BEAUTIFUL- THIS is what life is about
Ow my god so so nice to see
This fox is indeed disney-like, I thought it was a cartoon at first.
foxes are beautiful like all gods creatures.
Fantastic
Sweet..love it
Cute as heck! 💜
I have listened to Zeb Soames read the news for years and never knew what he looked like. Handsome, it appears!
What a beautiful true story about this urban foxes. Nature without wild animals would be like a garden without flowers. I also love his standard English accent. No wonder English accent is the true international global accent and i am so glad the British Nany in RUclips is taken that accent to USA now.
Aww so cute fox! 😻🦊
I would love this..lucky man
Lovely story.
I tried to befriend a "Urban Fox"...I got slapped and pepper spayed......

Sometimes Biscuit just turns up for a head scratch and it wouldn't surprise me if she stopped going back to the bush , then stayed with Debs instead.

Heavenly event to the author...!
It's a new beginning of something beautiful.
lovely
I made friends with black bear cub that moved into next door property! As he grew we talked an sun ourselves. He climbed for tree to watch me in my driveway. He slept on my front door rug leaning back against my door!
We are blessed to think that' s _so_ cool. Some people complain because the birds wake them up!
This is a very nice video.
