    I agree the response of God to Babel is highly amusing. I'm a little perverse but it makes me laugh about as much as Balaam and his donkey. Or Peter trying to get into the prayer hall after his prison break-out. They were praying for him and yet when he shows up, they're like, "Nah! It's not him!" The Bible has some humorous stories 🙌🏾 😂

    I watched the live on IG last night but at the end I missed what David’s “word” for this chapter was. I like how David pointed out Romans chapter 1 and Paul’s pointing out the “twin sins” of immorality and idolatry and how they lead away from God’s creation. Also liked how David highlighted how God seems largely to be a non-interventionist, this point from the chapter, “From time to time the unseen hand that holds the scepter of government is stretched out to restrain iniquity. PP 123.2”

    My one word was the same: Confusion. Thanx DA. God bless you for this wonderful challenge. Shared it with my mom and she told me that both my mom and my dad have started the challenge. Thank you much. I think when we get to the GC. You have to increase the vids to two hours. Lol.

    Hard to believe Noah's sons didn't all continue to follow God after all they had been through (the flood?!). This just shows that experience doesn't always produce results. It is only our constant submission to God that enables us to be changed. And thank God for that, considering some of the horrible experiences people have gone through.

    • @carlsonhomestead
      @carlsonhomestead 2 года назад

      I know!! I thought that was SO sad! Between personal experience and the influence of his God-fearing father, Ham still chose evil over good. It’s also an incredibly lens that brings into perspective how eternally important our own life choices are! Each of us has SUCH an impact on generations to come after us, even though we may not see that in the moment.

    I agree with you David. From time-to-time God has to intervene to keep sin from going viral like it did in the flood. He does it to save people. I agree with you that he lets things play out so people can see how far sin can go sometimes.

    Thought on language: God obviously “instilled” or “gave” a verbal communicative language to Adam the moment He breathed the breath of life into him. He didn’t have to grow up and learn to speak a language. So God easily could have “instilled” or “given” these tower builders different languages instantly.

      Well, something had to have happened, because the text just says he saw Noah naked. So something is definitely missing to elicit such a harsh judgment on him! Verse 24 says that Ham had done something to Noah; something to elicit curses, so it had to have been something pretty bad.

      And he (DA) is just giving us the range of thoughts on what has been said. He's not necessarily endorsing the extremes. But I do agree that it had to be something more than a glimpse of dear ole dad in his b-day suit. It may not have been full on rape, but even Auntie Ellen called it a "vile and unnatural crime". Possibly almost in line with what Canaan's descendants were like in Sodom and Gomorrah. 🤷🏽‍♀️

    There are tower builders in our time. Infidels construct their theories from the supposed deductions of sciences, and reject the revealed word of God. They presume to pass sentence upon God’s moral government; they despise His law and boast of the sufficiency of human reason. Then, “because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.” Ecclesiastes 8:11.
