Me !
Mine is like pulling me like accelerating while I’m driving it scare me a lot
I have a 2014 with 105k miles, it’s my first car I got it a year ago with 98k miles. It’s been great so far and I’ve enjoyed mine.
Do you still have it?
170k on mine with regular maintenance zero issues.
I’ve had two Jeep compasses now, a 2012 and a 2014. The first I put over 50k miles on with no issues besides regular maintenance, spark plugs and air filter. Had almost 130k miles when it got side swiped. Did very well for someone hitting me at 30 mph. The second has been just as reliable. The gas mileage for these isn’t the greatest but with both I get 22-24 in town and 30ish on highway. They are very popular in the area I live in and I literally never see them sitting outside shops. Just because you dislike a make or a vehicle doesn’t mean I’m going to listen to you babble. Figured I’d write a comment so others are aware.
Thank you.
I think he’s full of 💩 too.
I am looking at a 2022. Do you think i would be happy with it.
My 2012 was a piece of dog doodoo.
I have an 18 Compass Trailhawk in Chicago and it's ok, I would rather get something bigger like the Grand Cherokee or a Gladiator tbh. Not a terrible car but not all fun as well
My 2012 Jeep Patriot is a champ, 6 wrecks, 175k miles (I did uber with it) and I’ve had it for 10 years, my first car. Biggest repair was $700 for the condenser and compressor to be replaced. Everything else was standard, belts, oil changes, spark plugs, brake pads. She’s been an absolute saint and I hope to make it over 200k
Yea I was saying the same tbh I maintain and replace everything. Until it happened to me at 120k miles. It began to overheat and the gasket was blown. The bearing wore out and there’s rust in it all over, I live in San Diego. It has a bad record for a reason.
The Jeep Patriot/Compass is bullet proof as long as you don't have the CVT transmission option. I think Scotty doesn't know what he's talking about in this video and just hating on Fiat.

2015 2.4 Sport with 159k, still runs great 👍
wait for 300k miles and your head will hurt about the expensive maintenance cost.
if you buy a toyota rav4 , you will have no worries.
I haven't had any problems with my 2015 Jeep Compass. I've put 102,000 miles on it and the only maintenance it has needed are preventive maintenance such oil changes, brakes, etc. The 4WD is great and I've never got stuck during any of the Chicagoland winters.
Same with my 2014 Compass Latitude. It goes great in the Colorado snow and has plenty of power going through the mountains. In Scotty's world, if it's not a Toyota, it's crap.
Every how many miles, before you do your oil change?
Make sure you protect against rust. Fluidfilm is cheap compared to undercarriage parts.

Drove a 2020 Compass rental for work for about 3 months in February, put about 15K km on it. I can't speak abut the long term reliability, but I can honestly say that it was an excellent vehicle. I drove a fair bit of offroad and this little Jeep performed better than expected during Canadian winter. It is not a zippy vehicle, but it did well enough and the gas consumption was very good
Yeah.. But it is not a 1994 Toyo Celica. So Scotty doesnt like it. Naaaah !
I bought my 2014 jeep compass brand new. I do my oil changes on time. Now it's 2020 and no issues with my Jeep it has like 65,000 miles on it. Best air conditioning and heat I have ever seen on a car. You can blow dry your hair with it... not kidding. Everyone that rides in my car in the summer they are shocked how well the air conditioning works .. the air blast... just like the heat. I❤my Jeep compass
2014 is right when Fiat/Chrysler took over manufacturing. So, the 2014 was not a bad year for them. By and large Consumer Reports gives the Compass horrible ratings. Just because yours is fine doesn’t mean there aren’t thousands of crappy ones out there.
@@HockeyVictory66 I also take very good care of my car. I change my oil before it's time to... and I rotate my tires with every oil change. It's not the wear its the care too that saves the life of a car. A lady that worked for the place where I bought my car said she had seen many Jeeps engines blown because customers didn't change their oil when they should of. She warned me change the oil before its time to and the Jeep should last me a long time. So far it has been the best car I've owned... and trust me I'm 59 I've owned lots of junk cars before.
Well, 65,000 miles on it within six years, you hardly drive the thing. Lol. If the Compass is junk, you haven't aged it enough for it to fall apart. Of course, God forbid it falls apart on you. But Fiat-Chrysler is known to have junky cars with junky electronics, as well as terrible designs (for instance, Chrysler 200), and various other problems. You could have found a gem that was made better than most of FC's cars, but, still, you've hardly got any wear on the thing! Update this comment when you have 100 or 150,000 miles on it, and see if it holds up. 65K is hardly any miles on it. Lol.

@@Thoughtful7754 my daddy taught me it's not the wear it's the care that determines how long anything will last me. I know this much everyday my Jeep starts up runs great.... no probs so far. Just now replaced my battery that came with the car that battery lasted me 7 years. I love the room that I have in this car I am always folding my seats down hauling stuff. The exterior and interior look brand new too. I did buy a new battery 2 days ago. New break pads on the front last month. I also take my car to the same mechanic for everything. He is honest... I love my car and I will drive it until things start to go wrong with it. Very happy! It gets me to work everyday I drive 30 minutes to get to work and 30 minutes home. Dependable so far! But I also have a 2003 Dodge Caravan and the only mayor repair that a made in her was the transmission a year ago with the computer I spend a lot but a take from her much than that in miles
Didn't Scotty say Fiat took over 3 years prior to 2017 ? So maybe you got yours before the Italian quality decline ?
@@timothymoroney3561 that right
Only issues since 12 is the wheel bearing. The worst design is the rear brake caliper sliders . Rust stick and you have to remove the brake lines to fix the slide pins . Bad design.. The CVT is crap with the chug chug chug . But 92k it runs . And hasn’t been a bad “car” only
I personally own a 2011 Jeep Compass. I havent had any major issues with it just basic maintenance like oil changes, transmission fluid change and new tires. Its been pretty reliable. Its engine horsepower for sure isn't impressive very underpowered but good on mpg
Got mine new in 2015. 147k miles. Only thing i’ve replaced is the thermostat, AND i’m a delivery driver. Still works like new.

Scotty, in the early days, when jeep started making and selling, the products were spec'd out by design engineers who knew what made a vehicle robust. Today, the spec sheet comes from the marketing department, not engineers. The marketing and sales group tells the engineers what they want for a product. The engineers just do what they are told. This happens again and again with products that have achieved a brand status in the marketplace. Products that were once well designed by founders with a passion for the product over time are replaced with sales and marketing types who know nothing about design. They cheapen the product and leverage the brand name to maximize profitability. Steve Jobs talked about this. Its not uncommon.
"Never judge a book by it's cover" - OR a Jeep by it's name!
2018 compass latitude, no issues
Good. How long have you had your jeep?
They are made better than the one in this video. We have one at my work. It gets driven all over the place. We have 40k mi on a 2019. The fwd versions transmission is made by aisin, same company that makes toyota transmissions. Scotty is wrong here.
I just bought a 2013 compass and it’s actually a great little car for the price, super easy to work on, cheap, and reliable, I’ve got just over 100,000 miles on it and it’s still runs like a champ. The weight is actually 3200lbs and the mpg on average is 25mpg, and it’s a bit quicker than my ford transit. I think this might be a little fiat-hate bias lol
From my experience he is spot on; I own a used one. I had to purchase a repair manual b/c the issues with it are numerous and expensive. Bout to tow it home hopefully tomorrow.
SUPER easy to work on... really? What have you done? Brakes... put air in the tire?
He is talking about the 2017 model which has a fiat engine, renowned for using cheap materials that degrade quickly, yours most likely has a Mercedes engine.

To be fair the older ones before this facelift are actually pretty decent. My gf has a 2010 Compass and she has almost 250km so roughly 155k miles, and so far most of the work it has needed has been mostly wear and tear stuff, brakes and suspension. Here's hoping it will keep going another 2 years or so.

I sold a few of these as a car salesman.. would never buy one myself either!
Bird Worldist yes that might be so but you have to admit especially if you claim to have sold any of these that many Fiat Chrysler dealerships are willing to really work with the customer to make a sale and get somebody establishing themselves credit especially a young buyer and 18-year-old in my case my 18-year-old daughter was able to purchase this exact car
Except without the four-wheel-drive now she is establishing herself credit and building for herself a future
No Toyota dealership was willing to work with my daughter the way Tyson motors in Shorewood Illinois did.
So screw Toyota
They really suck
The products cost for too much and the dealerships are not willing to work with the customer the way they did at Tyson Chrysler jeep
And get the deal done
@@steelisthemeal that's great to hear that they were able to help your daughter! I actually work at a Kia dealership but we get lots of these jeeps as trade ins. Bird Worldist true some dealerships have such a old storied and terrible reputation
What Scotty isn’t saying to anybody is many Fiat Chrysler jeep dealerships not all but many if not most are willing to work with the customer
And get them established in life
You’re not gonna find this happening at Toyota
I mean this guy goes on and on and on how great Toyota is but I’m here to tell you first hand experience lifelong cargo that Toyota dealerships almost always will not work with the customer the way the Chrysler dealership will
And well if it means buying a car that has a little less quality to it well then so be it at least you’re getting a chance to get yourself established
Change to oil on the jeep and maintain it really well and you’ll get great service out of it

Ya know

@@steelisthemeal I'm assuming she financed the vehicle? How's the interest rate? Just because she got the loan and drove off the lot in the vehicle, doesn't mean that was a good thing. What happens if she starts missing payments because other things come up? What about when she's upside down in the vehicle? I would have recommended to have bought a cheaper, older, more reliable vehicle. To build credit, start her off with a credit card. Use it, and pay it off in full right away. There's plenty of time ahead for her to buy nicer vehicles.
I bought one of these things for 900 bucks, needed an alternator, needed the K frame (was covered under warranty) and that was it. Bought a used alternator, put it in myself and it's been a reliable daily driver for a year now so far. Considering doing an SRT-4 type build on it because I know it'll bother a lot of people lmao. Totally disagree I have a 2014,130,000 miles no major problems still running strong. Great gas mileage.still has original parts only changed the alternator and both thermostats. I keep the oil changed every 3000 miles with synthetic
The experience you have with a vehicle is often related to how you treat it, maintain it, etc. It's likely to last a whole lot longer with decent treatment. One suggestion though! A half century of driving, flogging the ponies, etc., tells me that you are changing your oil & filter unnecessarily often. Since you are using synthetic, I can't imagine changing it more often than every 5000 miles or 5-6 months. I keep my vehicles at least 150,-200K miles and since 80-90% of my driving is highway miles, I go up to 7500 miles between changes.
That's what they planned Scotty. To break down to sell more.

I've been driving a 16 compass sport for a few years now. Bought it with about 32k miles on it for about $17k before all the taxes and fees and so far put it through a lot of abuse. It currently has 100k miles and still running strong. Grant it, it doesn't have some of the nicer finishes that an equivalent Rav or Subaru would have, but those cars with 70k miles were going for 25k and up. At this point, you are looking to get a second mortgage just to afford one of those. Yes, price does matter. Especially, when you are talking about spending significantly more on a car with bunch of miles on it. I mostly do my own repairs and the only difficult part to replace so far was the rear motor mount. Everything else is very accessible and the engine bay has plenty of room to work in. If I had to choose again, I would choose a compass with 35k miles on it over another car with 100k miles. I've seen cars killed with poor maintenance and it takes a lot less than 100k miles to mess something up. If you are talking about having enough money to buy brand new, I would absolutely agree. Buying a slightly used toyota would be the way to go. Heck, I would go back to VW in an instant. But on the used market, you are talking at least 2x the price. For a daily driver, that makes all the difference. If the engine lasts another 100k miles, I got my money's worth.
Thats right. Jeeps are not overpriced either. Unless a Wrangler.
I have a 2014 Compass, I gotta say, they do have their flaws but wow I am quite impressed with the amount of garbage you managed to spill out, now i have a base model, no sunroof, to touch screen, no power seats, nothing fancy, but it gets me to point a and b, the weight is all wrong as well, a compass is under 3500lbs, gets about 22-23 mpg city for me 26 on the highway if drive nicely, now i do have a few components failing, just had a radiator go out, replaced the throttle body not so long ago, but those are easy to replace, I have to get a head gasket now, thats a tad more tricky, but I'm over 227,000 miles on it and it still runs like a champ, apart from the head gasket that just went out, but after I change that out itll be back gaining more miles in no time.
I have a 2014 compass. What he forgot to mention is that they are great in the snow. Take it from me.
lane8376 I’ve got a 2012. Damn thing is better in the snow than my Subaru ever was
The trunk space is a little small but I love the vehicle. In the summer I use 2wd. When it’s snows I use 4wd. Need to change my rear differential fluid though. Hope you change yours. And so many people want Subaru’s.
@@lane8376 how's it possible to change to 2WD? I thought only option is the AWD switch to switch between AWD & 4WD. Please enlighten.
Prashant Kadam Well in my Compass between the two front seats, below the arm rest and next to the emergency brake lever is a metallic lever that is kind of in the shape of a T. If your vehicle has that lever pull it up. It should show you on your dashboard that you have engaged the 4 wheel drive mode. Keep in mind all wheel drive and 4 wheel drive are different. Hope this helps. Also you can download a free Manuel for your specific vehicle online.

I bought a 2013 compass in 2014 with 16k miles. It’s now 2024 with 210k miles on it without any major issues. Just normal wear. I will say I have the FWD 2.0L version.
We have a 2016 Jeep Patriot, which as I understand it is the same as a Compass under the 'skin'. It has been a great vehicle, getting over 30 mpg on the highway. It isn't meant to take on serious off roading. Scotty talks about transmission failures; I think that issue was primarily with the CVTs. Our Patriot has a Mitsubishi 2.4L motor and a Hyundai 6 speed auto transmission; so much for being American made, but it has been very reliable for us over 52,000+ miles so far.
Scotty is spot on. I leased a 2018 Compass for my daughter and the tranny was replaced at 8k miles, transfer case started leaking at 9k miles and now burning 2 qts of oil between 5k oil changes. Thank god it’s under warranty.
c k, Aren't you glad you leased it! You can hand back the keys at the end of the lease. Scotty has mentioned this idea, too. He has talked about leasing vehicles that have a history of questionable longevity. With leasing you can simply hand in the keys, and any major work will covered by warranty anyway.
The dealer will tell you that oil consumption is normal. 🥴
I got a 2015 Jeep Compass. Has 30,492 miles and hasn’t had one single drip of fluid or problem. Oil hasn’t been burning.
Update: it now has 34,762 miles now and still the same. Not a single drop of any fluids and trans is running amazing!
I’ve got a 2018 myself and I’m at 68000km with ZERO problems ... so. You prob got a lemon.
Funny, the transmission on the compasses are made by AISIN, the same company Toyota gets their transmissions and has a 40% stake
My friend has one of these it wouldn’t even pull up his driveway unless he turned his ac off no joke. Cvt trans was just sitting there struggling
WOW now that IS junk!
Really? my 200,000 mole compass has a cvt and and it work fine still shifts
Tell him to release his emergency brake.
Must've been a lemon. They pull up hills fine.
I just traded in my 2013 Patriot with 197k miles and got a 2017 Patriot with 35k miles. My old Jeep started to have transmission problems with the CVT. I’m very glad my new Jeep doesn’t have that CVT so I can keep it even longer. I’m pretty happy with both of them so far.
I have a 2010 Jeep Patriot limited 4x4 with the 6spd CVT. It has 144,4xx miles and drives straight nice and tight. Abs light on for the abs motor being out but nothing else code wise. Sunroof leaks but I plan on fixing and not electronics out. The transmission sounds fine. No whine. It’s a little delayed when in need of power but the transmission is really smooth. Takes a half sec to engage into reverse and drive but not concerning. It seems to be getting bad gas mileage. I’m mainly on free way. The car runs super smooth so idk what would be causing the loss of power. Dealership said to replace Pcv valve but I took pills one out and ball is still shaking good. Transmission fluid is new and serviced. Air filter is new. Oil is good. Don’t understand the fuel mileage issue. Also slight clunking coming from front end over bumps has been there since new. But hasn’t seem to be an issue
Had my 18 compass latitude for e years, absolutely love it.
Fiat Chrysler put out a bounty on Scotty. Scotty needs to hire John Wick.

Probably because they were bought before 2015. Id kill for a 2008 Jeep Wrangler.
@@mikeandrews745 test drove a Compass because it was in my price range. I wouldn't have bought if it were in the hundreds. SUV style vehicles shouldn't be allowed to be made with 4 cylinder engines. That thing couldn't get up to 60 in a year if I put the pedal through the floor.
@@avadakedavra69 My friend owns a Compass. I've driven it once and ridden in it several times. Don't know what you're talking about regarding it having such poor acceleration. You won't beat a Ferrari off the line, true...but you shouldn't be trying to beat any car off the line in on-street driving.
Bought my 2015 Patriot (yes, they are the same basic vehicle) 5 speed 2.0L it gets around 21 city 25 hwy. Now it did have a catastrophic clutch failure at 16k miles. Fought with FCA for 2 months to get it fixed under warranty. The Yakima mega warrior roof rack fits perfectly. Also adapted 18 inch Jeep Wrangler wheels it looks and handles much better.
Most points are accurate put the mpg part is WAY off. My compass averages 30 on the highway and 20-22 city
Listen more carefully. He's talking about the 2.4L four wheel drive version.

@@Waingro808 Google it. It's 20-22 city
DrivingHawaii it’s got the same weight basically as the 2017 rav4 but gets about two less mpg comparing awd models. So two of his main points aren’t even true in this video.
@@flashv4941 Real world I got no more than about 22-23 max on the highway and normal speed of 70 mph. About 17-18 in town. A 2.4, cvt with 4wd. If I slow down to 55 and never fight the wind while going downhill I can maybe get around 28-30. New full size F150's and Eco diesel Rams get around 30 mpg. Regular v8's in normal full size trucks get better mileage. Hopefully the 2nd gen addressed this issue. I doubt it though.
Wife coworker bought a 2017 Compass, first rain water was coming in through the sides of the windshield.
I got a 2017 with 90k miles all highway but how is yours holding up? Idk if i should get rid of it or not?

I've got a 2015 4WD, bought it in 2018 with 62K miles on it, it's now got 75K. It's awesome. Handles great, very comfortable, great gas mileage, good acceleration. The only thing I've had to do is put a battery in it and change the oil and top off the fluids. I love it.
Yeah, my 2013 has been rock solid (276,000 miles), change the fluids, don't abuse it like a teenager drives and they last. That kind of milage is amazing for any 4 cylinder.
@@michaelxwhite 276k miles that's impressive. My 2014 with CVT is currently at 86k mainly driving locally. I replaced the throttle body once (DIY, common issue for certain batches) but no other mechanical failures so far.

If no one told you its a little underpowered you would not really care. Has great features to drive thru your regular Ohio winters etc.

Our family car 2003 chevy impala 200k miles. We have had nothing but problems after it hit 100k. Miles.
Only Buy Toyota/Lexus/Honda/Acura if you want reliability. Everything else is junk.
Those things were junk well before Fiat took over...now they're just worse. Had a coworker with one that was always broken, then she picked up a Chrysler 200 which was always broken, then traded that for a Grand Cherokee which, you guessed it, was always broken. All bought brand new! Some people never learn...
Just like my dad won't stop buying cheap Ford trucks and SUVs that always have problems and never last! He never learns either! His Ford transit cargo van blew the engine at only 50 something thousand miles. And he does fluid changes and maintenance.
It isn’t about the vehicle or the manufacturer. It’s about how you take care of it. I currently have one of these Jeep Compasses and I love it. It’s roomy runs good and easy to detail yourself
I get regular maintenance on mine and I still have problems with my 2018 Compass. Sometimes it IS about the company.
I inherited my wife’s 2011 compass. While it’s never left us stranded and looks nice still, we’ve had to do so much to it. Luckily my good friend is mechanic and has worked on it for me. It is slow with the 2.4. She bought an ‘18 trailhawk. I think it’s the last one we’ll buy and we’ll trade it in instead of my getting it. Oh yeah, he said to get rid of the ‘11, the control arm mount is rotting out.
A guy I work with got one used for $10,000. The CVT transmission want out at 80,000 mile and it cost $4,900.
WOW he was lucky to get 85 k out of it
It's a Jatco JF011E transmission. Same company that Nissan and Subaru get's theirs from. Now the 2017 Jeep Compasses use Aisin AW60T 6 speed which are Toyota transmissions but unfortunately the 7 speed dual-cluch FTP C725 is a Fiat and the 9-speed is a ZF 948TE.
@@hedga001 the 6 spd Aisin auto has been used on the Compass since 2014.
luisinhoens90 The 6-speeds used in 2014-2017 are Hyundai Powertech, not Aisin. They didn’t use Aisin until the redesigned model late-2017 and newer.

My 2011 compass since new is great. I’ve replaced the ball joints, lower Control arm bushings, and regular mobil 1 oil changes. Not bad, might keep it forever.
The rav4 isn’t any better
Mike Castellon what modern car buyer keeps cars for long anyways 😂😂
I have a 2014 Jeep Compass and for the most part it's been really reliable. It now has over 100,00 miles on it, and the only maintenance I have done to it is replace the front brakes, a set of tires, and spark plugs, and of course regular oil changes. Granted it doesn't have a lot of room in the back seat area, and I'm sure other models get a lot better gas mileage. Another downside is that the interior is mostly all plastic, and the outer seat panels break loose. It's seen a lot of city driving and I hope to get many more miles out of it.
Hey Scotty! What’s your opinion on the 9th Generation manual Honda Accords? Since it ran from ’12 to ’17 can I focus more on finding lower mileage rather than model year? Thanks.
i had an accord v6 6 speed coupe. Tons of fun and very reliable. Smoked my buddies wrx and g35 everytime while getting better gas mileage and never had a problem.
So, as an owner of a 2016 Patriot (same as the Compass, just different body), they were designed in the Daimler days and since Fiat took over, the Patriot/Compass only got better. The 2011 facelift included much nicer interior materials, better sound deadening, and better overall fit and finish. Also, they included the availability of the Hyundai 6F24 6 spd conventional automatic. With that, I’m sitting at a 8 second 0-60 which is more than quick enough.
While the gas mileage isn’t great, the 4x4 system in these leaves the Toyota Rav4’s system at the bottom of any steep and loose climb. With the same brake lock differential system as the Wrangler, it keeps climbing even if only one tire has traction. The Rav4’s system seems to be more of a selling point than actually functional in any kind of offroad condition. Also, the Compass/Patriot tucks away critical components underneath and offers high strength steel skid plates. The Rav4 leaves everything dangling, ready to catch on the first branch or rock taller than 6 inches and get ripped off or damaged.
My point is, yes, the Toyota is more reliable, better MPG’s and interior room. That’s because it’s a car and meant to be driven like one. The Jeep offers more offroad capability than anything else in that category. It is the “Jeep” of Compact SUV’s. Jeeps have always had worse mpg, on road driving dynamics, and interior room than their competitors because their focus was on being the best in their respective categories offroad. The Compass/Patriot is no different.
I will say though, if you don’t plan to go offroad ever, get the Rav4, you’ll be much happier on your grocery run.
Thanks for this.
I bought my compass brand new in 2014 and if you keep up with the recommended scheduled maintenance, you'll more than likely have no problems. I have had no problems with mine and in the spring I'm buying a new compass. Like I said keep up with the maintenance and keep it clean.
The patriot and compass are similar vehicles with different body styles. I have a 2016 patriot with the 2.4l engine. It's really not a sluggish car at all. The fit and finish suck, but it was 16k compared to other suvs which were 30k minimum at the time. It's been reliable so far with 35k miles over the last 3 years. Honestly my only real gripe is the steering wheel isn't telescoping.
I miss actual tilt steering wheels.

I have a 2017 high altitude. Used the 4wd in the mountains in WV. Did amazing. Didn't slip anywhere. If I had all terrains, it would've went anywhere I wanted it.
I have a 2011 Grand Cherokee (2wd Laredo). Love it. It now has roughly 205k miles on the 3.6L V6. Still going strong.
I have a 2010. 190k. USA made engine. Still runs like a champ.
special thanks to the owner of this Jeep Compass for allowing Scotty to feature his vehicle in this video😉
Probably with Scotty for repairs.
My daughter has a 2016 jeep compass it's a total POS
I've got a 2016 and it's been running perfect. Awesome 4x4 on snow, can hold all my snowboard/camping gear. The base sound system comes with nice sounding 10" speakers in the doors. With this vehicle I recommend the 6-speed not the CVT transmission. The 4cyl engine makes it decent on gas mileage, but I wouldn't tow with it. The OEM sparkplugs for this vehicle have short life. The first generation is based on the dodge caliber and a later model when well maintained is simple and reliable. I've only heard bad things about the second generation 2018+
2017+ I have an Early (1st Gen) 2017. There's also a Late 2017 which is the newer model.
FYI the door speakers are 6x9's
Thank you for putting this video on RUclips
Scotty I'm so mad at you ! Review the new Jeep Compass. I bought a 2017.5 MP new generation because after 10 months of research I became enamored by the Tigershark Engine muti-air II. And the six speed manual transmission rocks, although harder to find than Big Foot. Power is very good and my all around average mpg is 27.3 it's fwd only but that's all I need. Clearance is fine and it drives excellent, very quiet and smooth. Hwy mpg is about 34 but there have been times when I got over 41 mpg. Owned over 23 vehicles and my Compass is the best ever!
