Like everyone else today I thought He was crazy about this stupid fashion of being thin/fit. It never crossed my mind that he might be sick :( What a loss. The world has lost a great man, a great composer and a technically perfect guitarist. Rest in Peace Alexi. I'm totally devastated.

Watching vídeos of Alexi during the last years i realize that he always wore a cap or hat i never saw him again without something on his head and his hair seemed artificial. whatever the disease he fought with, he was always a warrior and one of my biggest influences, thanks for so much Alexi Wildchild Laiho!!
Something did look a bit odd about his hair, but it was thinning back in 2008. When they played in 2019 he wasn't wearing a hat and his hair didn't look natural, but it also didn't look fake, I think he might have had a transplant done around the time of Halo of Blood, his hair was pretty short on that tour.

You can see he didn't get the nutrients from his food, he's a skeleton.

Feel so sad... He should "take time to recover" whatever he has (can't believe it is just alcohol reasons). Hope him a better health soon and come back with Bodom After Midnight

This is really sad to watch. He suffered from alcoholism for a long time. Then he recovered, but some time later he relapsed and just gave up. And you can see it here. His playing is affected, he looks terrible, and I’m pretty sure that if he never relapsed he wouldn’t be sitting down here. He looks like he could crumble to dust at any moment. And yet it was still a shock when he died just two months after Eddie Van Halen and just under a year after Neil Peart. 3 legends gone within a year. It was 2010 all over again.

I hate seeing all the " it's sad" comments. I think mostly because it's true and the truth hurts. He looks very frail and his playing just isn't the *Alexi* madness that I'm use to. This guy was a GIANT trapped in a little body when you seen him on stage. One of the greatest. The way he could sing and play the riffs to the songs was fricken phenomenal. Structural changes of the epithelium in advanced cases are transformed into squamous cell carcinoma that doesn't go like a flu. It eats you down to hell. Even chemo wont stop it. Only healthy life style for many many years which is not that interesting maybe but long lasting.

Underlying disease took him. Although, he maintained metal through hard times and concoured all of our hearts. RIP.
