Alex is not normal human being.. thats why he can do it.. Lead Guitar & Vocal for his band.. and yes some other bands have this talents too.. much very very limited on earth... Megadeth(dave mixed rythm and lead guitar + vocal) , Metallica(james rythm with minor lead/solo), Wintersun (Jari Vocal & Lead guitar)
the way that he can jump into the rhythm guitar from solos is incredible. It looks like he's gonna miss the beat but he doesn't ever. Man I'm gonna miss his music, he was just coming into his artistic prime.

Hexed is indeed an awesome album, and I was really hyped with the 2 Bodom after midnight original songs, so fucking sad that he passed away man. At least he was doing what he loved the most with awesome musicians by his side.

Being a young guitarist and play technically fast as hell is one thing, but some of the top guitarists don't bother to repeat the same sht when they're 40 or 50 years old. Steve Vai and Satriani are good examples of this. I mean their albums that they have released at an older age. When you grow up as an artist and get older, you'd rather make music where you can hear the feeling, the deepness of music, a certain kind of maturity, smart composition/arrangement ideas... all of that. Alexi was on his way to this point in his life & career, but...well, you know the rest of the story. What a pity to lose an artist like him, he would still have had a lot to give musically.
Only Alexi had this talent of writing such melodic music while playing such technical.. no one can write such touchy music like him.. he has proven his music to be best and with no improvements required since 1999

I'm not too big into metal anymore, but when I was like 13 or 14 (I'm 28 now) I bought hatecrew deathroll, rust in peace from megadeth and kill em all from Metallica because I thought the covers looked cool and those were the only CD's I had besides some shitty linkin park album my mom's lame boyfriend have me for my birthday which i still regard as my worst birthday present, but I remember listening to all 3 everyday constantly and playing my garbage Johnson strat I always wanted his sound on my stupid little 10 or 15w I cant even remember what it was amp with Marty Friedman+ Alexi Laiho skill combined. He is like a modern day Randy Rhodes in my opinion
