Yay for Yuri Herrera! Signs Preceding the End of the World was his other book that Cynthia and I both thought was fantastic. I hope you get the chance to pick it up. The Le Guin Prize seriously has some great reads on it. And yay that they finished the road work! I hope life slows down for you soon.

Thanks for the title, I at least remember the cover from you both talking about it! I haven't checked what else my library has from him, but will definitely be trying more, because this was fantastic.
They finished the road work.... but those holes in the yard have got significantly worse and they set off a huge amount of utility work now 😱 Can't catch a break.
Hope your travel is continuing well and relaxing!

Everything from Matt Inman absolutely cracks me up, you would probably have a great time when you need some humor in your reading diet!

The cat comic looks so cute. I don't watch a lot of tv but I've been in a slump and watching Fern Brady on Taskmaster has been a delightful reprieve. (Season 14).

Sorry about the slump, it feels like you went so hard for amazing readathon, hopefully it is just a short break your brain needs and you'll be right back at it. Fern is a delight (really need to get to her book!), S14 was tops because of her. I pretty much just watch whatever Taskmaster post on YT in with the rest of my watch later, and they seem to revisit clips from that season a lot, it's fantastic.

I'm so sorry the stress continues to be a theme. I have a couple more of your videos to catch up on after being out of town for 2 weeks - & it looks like we may be going out of town at the end of the month again. 😵‍💫
Glad you have the availability to have couch delivery happen finally. Don't let them leave holes in your yard! They should have to repair those!
I found a graphic novel series (or is it manga?) that made me think of you (I haven't read it yet - it's an interlibrary loan that I am waiting on) A Man and His Cat by Umi Sakurai. It looks ADORABLE.

It really feels like the stress is a lot, but a big amount of it is probably good change. I knew this year was going to be one to just keep going forward through, but not quit how much random things would be disruptive on top of things I wanted to change or big things out of my control. Life is lifeing I guess 🤣
The holes remain and I finally found out along with the internet disruptions, the roadwork messed up or uncovered problems with other utilities, so there is a massive re-run of things the holes are there for, so there have been utility workers coming and going constantly! Ugh.
I've read the first volume of Man and His Cat, it is indeed adorable and very mundane so think you'd like it! Need to get back to it, I am pretty sure I saw the series on hoopla.

Ooo, what was the name of that Percival Everett short story collection?
I'm sorry to hear about all the stress...I hope you get a reprieve soon!

The collection is Half an Inch of Water, I've finished now and enjoyed it very much as my first Everett. It is on a kind of contemporary western/rural life theme.
Thank you, I hope so too... though I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet, I think a lot of the stress this year has been toward there being one awhile down the road, so just keeping on.
