Great tag...I'm always looking for new horror and I'm not really "in the know" with that genre, so I'm adding some of these to my list!

I'm definitely not the most widely read in horror, but definitely trying to dabble more. It actually surprised me that I couldn't narrow down from multiple options for the prompts, I thought I would be struggling to hit any!

This was really fun and I will definitely be doing this tag. Cool to hear more about Welcome to Nightvale and also that’s unfortunate to hear about The Turn of the Screw. That has been a classic I have wanted to pick up because I loved The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware

I've heard good things about Turn of the Key too, I do kind of want to try it. For me Turn of the Screw had that unfortunate thing where it's such a proto and understated version of a thing that really evolved as it became a whole genre of it's own... and has been done in ways I enjoy a lot more.

Of course seats are for cats. Things In Jars sounds interesting. Starling House too.

Cats are the boss around here, I work so they don't have to 😁. I think you would like Things in Jars, a bit morbidly humorous!

We definitely have very similar taste when it comes to horror. I'm a huge fan of Gothic, but not at all into anything gory. Small Spaces and World War Z are fantastic. Over the Garden Wall is great too, although the Mashed Potatoes and Molasses song is so sticky!

Oh NO. Now I have Potatoes and Molasses stuck in my head 🤣 My best friend was living in another state for a long time, we often had entire conversations of random quotes, OtGW came up CONSTANTLY. That's a rock fact!

That’s funny you mentioned Cherie Priest- I was thinking hmmm that name sounds familiar. I read Boneshaker years and years ago, mostly because she was a local author and I hadn’t read a steampunk novel before. It was so cool! I had kind of forgot about her and now I definitely have to check out her horror. Thanks!

Boneshaker has such an iconic cover. I always see it and mean to read it, but then never do. That is good to hear you liked it, and so cool she is local to you!

"Seats are for cats. Not humans." My cats have that philosophy as well.
