I still can't get over how incredible your cinematography is. It's what I would expect if someone told me Jeff Cronenweth is making review videos - only better, sometimes.
The S8 seems like an amazing phone, but it's a pity Samsung missed the mark in a few areas. Removing the ability to remap the Bixby button, something only more advanced users who probably wouldn't give the feature much of a chance anyway would do seems like a shortsighted move, and the location of the fingerprint scanner, while consistent with their design language seems like something that should have been dealt with at the earliest stages of design. In many ways I kinda wish Google Play Edition devices could make a comeback - this hardware running a Pixel-like experience would be borderline dream phone territory. Let's just hope Google's taking notes. Oh, and by the way, as little as it needs to be said at this point, great video - keep them coming!

Same here. I have also a Love-hate relationship with my s8+. But the thing I hate most about the phone which no reviewer mentions: "Ok, Google" does not work if the phone is in standby (only when it is plugged in)!! This is unacceptable! Even my old Note 4 could do that! I used this feature all the time!!

Hey Ash, your video's aspect ratio is almost perfect when I watch on my s8. wow man. I haven't seen a single RUclipsr upload videos in this aspect ratio. It's just so comfortable to be viewing on my s8. When I hit the full screen mode on my s8 the video doesn't feel cropped at all as it was almost perfect for the phone. Keep up the good work man. Beautiful video. I'm between the G6 and S8 right now, and sitting on the fence hard. I love the floss (or wow) factor of the S8 but the G6 is so much more practical in so many ways, like finding glass screen protectors, dual cameras, and fingerprint sensor placement.
agree with all your points Ash. I've had the S8+ since launch day. it's replaced my iPhone 7+, which feels oddly shaped and unpleasant to hold after using the S8+. But Bixby, it's dedicated button and the fingerprint reader are all very frustrating.

Try using the Samsung Alcantara cover. It makes using the fingerprint sensor very easy and quick. Moreover the case also has a good feel to it. I use the case with my s8 on a daily basis.
This was the best looking review I've seen on the internet. Too good for RUclips. Very critical too, which is nice. Many reviewers aren't critical enough.

hit the nail(s) on the head - I have the plus because I'm used to bigger phones and didnt like the loss of width on the smaller s8. the fingerprint scanner and the screen discolouration around the edges are the only pain points for me but so frustrating as it stops it being the most enjoyable phone I've had for a long time! Bixby sucks but I never notice it nor do I ever accidentally hit the dedicated button.
