To prevent a brooch from falling off, you simply slide a small tube like earring back, onto the pin before fastening the pin. If the pin comes undone for some reason, the earring back will stop it from falling off.
My Grandma had a large brooch collection, unfortunately I didn't get any when she passed but they remind me of her so I absolutely love seeing others collections! 💖
Love your video and all the antique and vintage brooches! Found your channel because I was thinking about doing a video on my butterfly brooch collection, subscribed!
Thank you for sharing, dear Christine! I love your collection. These new items are magnificent! I especially fell in love with the brooch with a cake and teapot and the last green and yellow flowers! I also have a collection of vintage brooches, I love them very much!
Oh my god, that bouquet of red roses brooch is exactly like one I have!! I even paused the video in shock 😅! I bought it in Brazil, how crazy that it has a brother in the US. Well, I think it means we both have very good taste 😜
I got into collecting insect Brooches from Temu, some plant/branch/ and ferns ones to go with them.. might do animal ones next. I plan to put them in a frame with out glass..
Do you have any tips on how to style a watch brooch? I receieved it as a gift but I'm struggling. It's made by Croton and from the 1940's (I think), gold, ornate at the top, and dangles a bit.
What a lovey gift to receive. There really aren’t any tips, just wear it when you can/want. I have a few watch brooches and they are really special. None of mine are working pieces anymore, but I still love to wear them. I have a Bakelite nurses watch brooch which is a little more ‘plain’, and a few more fancy ones with rhinestones. And I just love them.
I have a brooch that locks like the you you showed at 5:50! Mine is from the 20s and made out of feathers. Also can I ask at what did you hang on the fireplace mantle?? is it beaded pearls?? It looks BEAUTIFUL
Oh how wonderful. It’s such an interesting locking mechanism. And yes, the piece on the fireplace mantle is beaded pearls. I love how they hang so delicately.
@@TheGlambassador it’s so interesting and also really sucure ! Oh amazing !!! Are they vintage ??? I wonder if I can find something like that at a fabric store?? It does look really delicate !
@@CarePinglo this is a vintage piece, I believe it’s Edwardian or early 1920s. But I bet you could find something similar. Maybe look for a beaded scarf, it should be the right length.
I stumbled into your video while watching others on brooches for men. Here in Canada each find cost $12.00 if not more at second hand stores..... it's crazy the price difference. I would love to see a video from you on "men and brooches". What are your thoughts and take on the whole topic. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦 ❤
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I'm not really the right person to make a video on men and brooches. But I've seen a few men on Instagram and TikTok speak on it.
I think your insect brooch is a bee, and for the one that you couldn’t read I think it’s says Zauo Paye? Maybe that’s the name of the artist who made it? Just a guess!

Oh wow! I love that we have the same one!!!
Flies have one pair of wings. Bees have two pairs. So your brooch is a bee
Good to know, thanks!

Trombone clip on the deer brooch
I recently got a reindeer brooch of vinted and it's stamped Gerry's really need to look it up
Your yellow brooch reads "Zakopane" which is a city in Poland. Perhaps it was made there?

The clasp on your little celluloid pin is called a trombone clasp. According to a dealer friend that makes the pin French.
Very cool, thank you.

@@TheGlambassador Thank you! 🙏 It's a beautiful gift, I just want to make sure I wear it properly and do it justice.
@@KristenPimley Simply wearing it will honor the gift. I’m certain you’ll do it justice. Enjoy it and wear it often.

Pull up Jason Adams. He’s a collector, silver smith, and educator in collectibles .I’ve learned a great deal about all aspects of collecting.
That's a trombone clasp on that celluloid brooch with the deer. Not a super common or long-lived clasp style.
Where can I find oversized brooches? Vintage or not….is fine!
I’m always looking at flea markets, estate sales, Etsy and eBay.
How do I find you on posh mark?
Here’s the link. I really need to start adding more items, my sell pile is getting far to large. posh.mk/bYwbLplJwvb
