Your cameo with the male soldier head likely depicts a Spartan, as that is the typical Spartan helmet. Very enjoyable and well-presented video. Thank you for sharing your treasures!
I have never found one in glass though I do have a suitcase of the ones which are lava and shell. My collection started when I admired my grandmother's cameo which was her pride and joy. After my mother inherited the cameo it was passed down to me, and I keep it separate from the rest because it is sentimental.

😍 girl... u have the most beautiful collection, I'm gonna be on the look out for the African cameos. When I go the local swap meet n see jewelry I automatically think of ur channel lol, I look on the back of pendents in hopes of finding c clasp. Anywho so beautiful.
Oh my! This was so lovely & informative. I fell in love with cameos when i was just a girl. Mom & Dad went to Rome & bought us girls & mom a cameo. They watched the carvers carve them from shells. Mine was set in silver & the ring part wore completely out. The jeweler would not make me a new ring for it because he was afraid the heat would crack the cameo. I bought another one similar & the cameo fell out & I lost it😢. I love the silver setting, but it wears out. The newer cameos are not beautiful like the older ones. They seem so cheaply made. I would like to have a beautiful one set in white gold. That started me collecting cameos. They are just so lovely & portrayed women as feminine & beautiful.
Your video has generated my interest in acquiring at least 1 Cameo! I have normally passed them up. Although now I will rethink that. Thx for the information!
Thank you for the lovely video! I can no longer thrift shop as I used to and thought this was a wonderful view! I once had a pair of green cameo clip on earrings I gave away; now I wonder what they were worth. I think the young recipient liked them, but I sure didn't think to check. The one cameo you show, looks as if a vampire got her neck, LOL.
I’m actually here due to the cameos at 4:54! I found some online and couldn’t decide which to chose. This video is fantastic! It’ll be my first cameo and I’m happy to find one that resembles me!
I have a cameo made from opal. It is really beautiful. My uncle also to my high-school photo to Italy and had a shell carver turn it into a carved shell.
for cleaning and nourishing it's as you say, but run it gently against your face, where it's greasy... the skin sebum will give it the final care step... massage it in gently Nice collection and video... I collect cameos, but they are all extra quality and genuine antique pieces... I love habillé and conch shell a lot, too hugs from Switzerland, ;)
I have a question? I have a bracelet that is a double hummingbirds, it is a hinged cuff or bangle bracelet by juicy couture. I believe it's vintage and rare its gold with white, green, and blue enamel, with rhinestones it's a beautiful piece I can't find it anywhere I have found other birds parrots, love birds and so on. This is why I believe it is a very rare bracelet. Can you possibly help or maybe tell me how I can find any information about my bracelet. Thank You In advance. Crystal Stewart
Have you tried a reverse google search? It’s hit or miss but there have been a few times when I have found items, I was researching that way, as a last resort.
@@VintageVariety KiaOra from New Zealand. Taking a random guess, don't know anything about cameos lol. Just thought that these look similar to jasper wax seal stamps. Pushing them into play doh or modelling clay would be fun! 🙂
I believe the Cameo stone with the men's faces is Amber and marble the burnt orange I believe to be Amber, and the black and white marble. Some of the black stones are either obsiden or onyx.. The ones that are either plastic or enamel possibly... I hope maybe this helps you..
The helmet with the feathers on top could be a Trojan warrior. It looks like it may be Mercury (Roman name for Hermes, the Greek god). I’m wondering if some of the black cameos could be hematite. I’m not certain it can be carved, though.
You may be correct! I need to test some of the black ones, I know a few are glass but some aren’t. I believe you’re correct on the one with the feathers. ❤️😊 thank you so much for watching and the info!
@jillkoshinski3033 I’m not sure where you would go unless you took it to a local jeweler. If they do not know perhaps they could put you in touch with an appraiser. I do not do appraisals.
@@VintageVariety I saw a good sized one at a flea market a couple days ago and it was old and the background was black and the carving was black too. The lady wanted $55 for it... Since then I've been trying to find an all black one online and can't! Must be rare. Yours is also left facing!
I believe it’s carnelian. I had another comment suggesting that it was and comparing it to another piece of jewelry made from carnelian stone it looks the same. ❤️❤️❤️
Greetings from Sweden bot I and my mom collect cameo I have two with hole head carved one big shell cameo I 14k from 1860-70s and one smaller shell cameo in metal 1880-90s
Hi Dennis! Thank you for watching❤️ Most jewelry channels do not give values because they can fluctuate. I suggest getting an appraisal. There are also channels that do jewelry auctions. Watching some of the auctions, could also be helpful, in giving you a general idea of what items are selling for. ❤️❤️❤️
I had thought some might be but I always second guess myself. I never like to say unless I’m sure. Thank you for telling me!❤️That’s good to know 😊❤️❤️
This is the 5th time I’ve watched this…and I will probably watch it again and again! Thank you for all the great info - as always!

The wire work is called cantelle? Did i hear you right?
Yes cannetille. It’s similar to filigree but the work is finer, more intricate and delicate ❤️❤️❤️
