I inherited my mother’s jewelry recently, she had several strands of pearls. They are quite dirty, I didn’t know how to clean them, was afraid I would damage them. Thank you so much for the tips.

I'd love to see a video showing a variety of different types of pearls as you did here but more detail on types if possible. Your channel is is a good source for me for eying the antique and vintage jewelry types I have yet to find 😊.

I took my black light into my jewelry case to look at my pearls I am a little confused though because I have a Napier necklace that I'm pretty sure is plastic pearls very lightweight and doesn't feel like my real pearls but it glowed just like all my real pearls did.
That is quite odd! I’ve never seen that before. Perhaps they’re majolica? Often majolica pearl will do that.
They could have used ground-up Pearl in the coating outside of the glass ball or plastic ball whatever they were using for the fake Pearl that way it would test positive as a pearl or glow as a pearl

😮The stones that you said, you don’t put a lot of study into are Opalite or Potch it is the undesirable very little color change version of Opal thank you for teaching me about my pearls. I have a bunch of colored ones I think they’re freshwater, but none of them are around some are almost round, but my grandmother and her grandmother collected them somewhere on the East Coast. I think Virginia in a riveror creek and now they’re extinct

@@gabrielabaires4788 prices can vary greatly and range anywhere from $15 on up to $120 depending on the condition, length, etc. Majorca pearls are good quality but they are not real pearls. They are high quality imitation pearls.

I have always heard you should store pearls with other pearls.
