Your favorite cameo near the end with the grapes on the head is Victorian. The grapes tie it to Bacchus, the Roman God of wine and theater. It’s very beautiful!
Beautiful collection. I am retiring in two weeks, and I bought myself a new pair of cameo earrings and a new cameo ring as retirement gifts to MYSELF!! I have several other cameos as well. Great video - Diane.
TFS! I have a cameo ring from the 1980s and a Florence I thrift ed last year. I also have purchased a few nice resin cameos in the past 12 months since I started collecting jewellry. Your collection is inspiring.
gorgeous! I have one Cameo set.. one of the ones with the diamond a pretty brooch/pendant with earrings to match that is a family heirloom. Yours are beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing!
I love cameos too. I have my grandmother's and I wear it all the time as a pendant. I don't want to collect them because none will mean more to me than hers. But, I do adore them.
The cameo at 22:52 was assayed in Italy - that is what the marks mean. I think the 750 gold cameo has had the clasp replaced. The hinge is Victorian. You have some really lovely cameos!
Enjoyed so much watching your vid I have been collecting them for a number of years but only picking them up at jumble sales and Car boot sales I agree about all you say on the ways to tell if they are plastic or real I have a Cameo in silver that shows a scene with sea and a volcano erupting it is very white on the back like your one with the scenic view. It is lovely shades of blue where yours has shades of brown I was told it was carved in a shell that as that natural colouring and I have seen one’s of that colouring in jewellers I got it at a jumble Sale when I was only 14 😘
Some of the glass intaglio are old Czechoslavakian, you can tell the age from the type of setting. The intaglios from the nineteen sixties are a type of plastic, but still pretty. Your goddess Flora, or some other goddess is my favorite also, thank you, very nice presentation.
Great Collection Carla, and very informative, I have several also some I’ve inherited, I love them. I look at them daily, but never wear them, but I’m vowing today I will🌈🦋 Thanks for this video💖
I enjoyed this video very much. I have a nice collection of vintage and antique cameos and think of them as friends. Could never sell them and I do wear them!
Love your collection. I learned some new info to help identify resin from shell. I have a cameo from my grandmother. I really know it’s from around 1870 to 1910. But it is in poor condition. The way you presented your knowledge was very helpful. I enjoyed your video.
I have cameo necklaces, brooches, earnings, stud's, and bracelet, just wanting to know where I should take them for valuations. Thanks in advance Wendy
I also found a cameo in one of my jewerly jars with a women that looked like the lady in the bar from the movie titanic, I also gave away a cameo that was sign trafari, cameos have never been my thing.
What about a Vintage cameo set of earrings that are facing both right and left? I have a vintage set that I believe a shell, cold to the face touch, end it has some gyms around it but they’re two different cameo styles but you can tell it was a set.
Beautiful collection . I love Cameos also and try to get sets together ,and luckily for me it hasnt been expensive buying diff ones . & Thank you also for all your information on them ,i love live learninb about jewellery thank uou so much . Love from down under in New Zealabd mwah mwah
Enjoyed your sweet collection always love your jewelry jars or bags sending a few things to you before to Long now just need to remember to go to the Post. Office
I have a cameo with a male on it, facing right with a head wrapped but I can't find anything on it. The back is opened I can see through it. It was a birthday gift but I'm interested in the history
Hello Carla, I love your collection! I had just purchased a cameo ring that I love. I wore it one time and scratched it😞. So has that happened to any of your pieces? And what can I do?
I do my own nails as well, it's the wise thing to do. I love yard sales, and cameos. One of mine is about 2 1/2 inches, 14k, and she's wearing a diamond necklace. I paid 50¢ ♥
I have recently been passed down a cameo which was originally my great, great, great, great grandma's from the early 1800's but it is of a man on a black backing and I've never seen another one like it. Unfortunately my great grandma reset it in the 30's but it is still in it's original band but the markings are so faint cause they look like they have been scratched in instead of stamped. I'm trying to find one similar so I can find out more about it's origin.
@@PrincessCasserole after doing some googling I think it might be. The face is just alot different to all other's I've seen- it almost looks like a man? I found your Instagram and have sent you a photo 😊
I remember that I also gave away one of those square one, I don’t know the worth of the few cameos I have but if you would like the cameo of the titanic women and a small silver one I own I could send them to you, I hope you have a P.O. Box

I have a cameo pin. I believe its real. It sits in the center of a sterling silver pin. Made by Theda. I cannot find it unline. If anyone would know anything about it, please let me know. It was my mothers, do not know where she got it. I believe its vintage. Maybe 70s.
too disorganized in presenting them. you should've rehearsed yuor presentation. also, tacky BAGGIES?? why do you keep real ones in baggies when should be displayed in a velvet/een case protected with anti tarnish lining.
My grandmother collected cameos and I received several after she passed. So I'm learning the difference in them. Thank you

Passions 'n Pastimes -Pat Hood that sounds lovely! I’m so glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for sharing. To me, the glass cameo looks like Jackie Kennedy.
That's what I thought also
Wow so beautiful! I looove cameos. I collect them as well.

That’s a good point. I have some of my grandmothers items and I love them.
I just watched an antiques road video of a piece of two color slate that you would have loved. A set worth 20 to 35 thousand dollars.

Louise Lewis I’d very much appreciate anything you are willing to give.
I also collect cameos. Have for 30 years. I have always thought left facing carvings are the rarest. The carver is left handed. ??
Oh maybe. Never thought of that.
Great video! Thank you for taking the time!
My cameo 15ct gold framed, has a bumpy back surface. I can see light through it but the back is confusing me.?

Chrystal Aguilar thanks!
Hi, what are the bigger cameo were going for? Im starting a collection as well.😊
It all depends on the metal and quality of the carving
Those gold earring (the expensive ones) how do you wear them? If you slide your earlobe in them the cameo will be upside down.
Also can you tell us how to care for them.

retrobebop61 no, I’m actually half American Indian though.
Very educational, I needed to see this. Thanks C! 💖
icatz thanks!
Beautiful Collection I love them,
MrsEd thank you! I love them too.
I am so envious! I really love cameos and had an amazing collection of shell cameos, but they were stolen in a burglary 😥
Sandra McCormick I’m terrified of that. I’m so sorry.
Is the glass one Jackie Kennedy?
Soumela Amanatidis-Kotsalidis you know that’s what I thought too.

The cameo I would like I have seen only once. It has the diamond necklace around her neck.
Violet Brown oh I’ve seen a few like that. I love those ones.
Do you know what material is used for the one at 13:27? The background is white instead of orange
I’m not certain stone perhaps
750 it's an 18k gold
