Cameo shops back in the 70's in Rome use to carve out cameos for you over a few hours if you wanted to sit for one. When my son was 12 he sat for about 3 hours while his face portrait was carved and it captured him forever. I like to think hundreds of years from now someone after me will still cherish the beauty caught in time.
working at an auction house for most of my teen years I adored seeing mother of pearl cameo's! we got in these forgot pinks, purples and oranges! I won't forget the one carved so nice, it was shell, maybe a mussel or something like that, I'm not sure honestly. The top was golden yellow, so the woman's hair was gold and in this pretty Victorian maybe updo, the skin was porcelain white of the bottom of the cameo/ top of the blouse was dark purple. She wore pearls which lay in a cross between the fading purple to white. The artist carved the sides down so the yellow and purple were much lighter on the boarder.
I was curious if you ever thought about showing the extream close-ups before you talk about them? Perhaps play audio of the unboxing as you show the close-ups. It's just if we the audience have no idea what she is describing then the definition doesn't make much sense. Thank you I still like your videos, & would like to see more field trips.
I would love to own a Cameo in my image or my mother's image or my kids. One of the tiaras from the Swedish Royals is the Cameo Tiara usually worn by brides of the royal family or the Queen. It is my favorite of the Swedish Royal tiaras.

Awww! Adorable kitten! 😍
I love your videos. Very educational
Thank you!
I love cameos
That was some great family connection.
Yeah, i would get a cameo of my pet. I love my parrot.
I wouldn't get a Cameo of my pets... well, maybe yes. Maybe a few. To put some in a time capsule. And keep others with me. Btw, Merry Christmas!

Do a video on hauyne
That's cool
They're so pretty. It must take some skills to make them. I will have one with a picture of a family member.😊❤💎
Isn't a low relief cameo called an Intaglio or am I confusing something right now ?
I have a cat myself.. I should make cameo of her.😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
It always confused me why they needed to be sort of hollow at the back.
David Ocampo i think just to use less material and make the final piece less heavy
Make a vid on blue halite! OwO
Aka blue table salt! OwO
Have one made of your kitty cat
I think if you focused on cameo, it would be a more qualified video unlike seeing your face
Nowadays they are carved by CNC machine- not by hand.
