    Just an FYI, my 2022 ST had the orange fitting on both ends of the WOT tube, the drivers side valve cover was a walk in the park compared to breaking that POS off the intake tube down at the bottom of the engine bay. The instruction could use some updating saying that you now include both the fittings that need to be replaced. as well as referencing this video would be helpful. On the bright side once you get those orange connectors off it smooth sailing from there if you don't try to reinstall the clean side CCV tube upside down, ask me how I know. Great kit impressive quality, thanks guys.

      Yes, the 22 has the extra orange fitting. Thanks Ford. The Orange Fittings are the only difficult portion of the kit. I find prying the black cover off of the fitting to access the inner portion of the fitting ( in the instructions ) is a little easier than trying to pop the tabs. UPR does provide the replacement quick connect fittings in the kit.

    What’s the difference between this one and J&L catch can?

    • @stevebussius7887
      @stevebussius7887 2 месяца назад

      Many Many differences. Better coalescing filters, braided rubber hoses with high quality check valves, dual valve catch can so it works throughout the rpm range, larger capacity etc.

    I asked my Ford service manager if a catch can aka oil separator would void my warranty on my 23 2.3l Timberline he said why would it ? it's an improvement. Mine is a non vented can also.

    I have a question concerning the "easy install oil catch can kit for 20 -24 Ford Explorer ST 3.0L" (SKU 5028-278):
    In the description it says "does not fit Hybrid". But what about the Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) Version of the 3.0L Ecoboost engine, which is built in the 2023 Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring or the European version of the Ford Explorer ST-Line, which also has the 3.0L Ecoboost engine as a PHEV?
    Would this kit fit with those PHEV engines?

    I leave in Miami, I will loved to get that done
    but I don't know any expert can do that installation for me

    • @Nemesiz00
      @Nemesiz00 2 года назад

      You don't need an expert for that, come on. Even most of the plugs are disengaged by hand. The orange connectors you need a tool that looks like a dentists pick, 90 degree angle and some patience.

    What is the difference between this one and the other one? Does the 2020 ST have any orange fittings?

    • @stevebussius7887
      @stevebussius7887 2 года назад +1

      All ST Explorers have the orange fitting on the driver side valve cover. 22 and newer Explorer ST has two. One on the valve cover and one on the opposite end of the crankcase vent tube where it connects to the turbo inlet tube.
      Not sure which 'Other one' you mention, but if you mean UPR part number 5028-278, this kit does not include a clean side separator, and is not a dual valve catch can system. It is a simpler, basic catch can for folks that do not want to mess with the driver side orange fittings and it is ok for daily drivers that are not going to be run hard at wide open throttle too often.

  • @stevebussius7887

    For how to clean the catch can, Check out our how to clean your catch can video. The Explorer ST and the 2.3 ecoboost are very different, so this kit will not work on a 2.3L engine.

    Wish you guys would actually show a good way to remove the orange fitting. Even the included instructions are extremely vague. All they show is one out of the vehicle and don’t actually show how to do it. It is extremely difficult to remove without breaking an expensive valve cover and a turbo pipe. Another video is needed for the 2022 model year

    • @uprproducts
      @uprproducts  2 года назад

      It is difficult to remove the orange fittings, and even more difficult to video removing the fittings. That is why we show it in detail outside of the vehicle. You would have to be pretty rough with the fittings to break the valve cover or turbo pipe. If you feel like that is going to happen, perhaps it is best to take it to a qualified shop for installation. UPR also offers a kit that does not have a Clean Side Separator for folks that do not want to mess with the fittings on the driver’s side or just want an easier install.

      @@uprproducts I figured it out my self. Maybe include color photos in the instructions. The black and white photos in your included instructions and so dark you cant even see what’s going on in the photos. But I just used a screwdriver and broke the tabs off. Took 5 min.

    Those orange clips are horrible…..and for some reason the clean side separator would not engage to click but seems to be on there. UPR sent another one but still not engaging. The quality of the product being sold is awesome.

We'll have the replacements ready to ship next week; we have you covered. Then we can send you a call tag for the Clean Side Separators we sent you. UPR
