@@RezaMatix So far it makes the cab sound more like a 4x12, solid chug now, when needed. Works well with SV20, Orange stamp, and Fender Champ head. More highs on the Redback than expected. Should have tried this speaker long ago. We'll see what the band thinks tomorrow.
I have Redbacks and K100s in one cab and Redbacks and V30s in another. Wow! Redback and V30 is so insane. Thick, right and rich. I much prefer over just Redbacks.
Great demo, thank you. I pre-ordered a pair of these (8 ohm each) when they were announced. Rolled the dice and came out on top. Put them in a diagonal 212 closed back and they kill it at both room volume and gig volume. They are flying a bit under the radar still and guys may be hesitant to try them.
Hi looking to get the redback in a zilla 2x12 for kemper. What the like in the room for tight and low end for the metal chugs. Or should I go for 2x12 v30s for metal ?
@Kenny H Wattage rating is the maximum "power" that you can send to the speaker before blowing it up, it has nothing to do with "volume": the "sensitivity" (or efficiency sometimes) rating of a speaker, expressed in decibels, tells you how much loud a speaker will sound with a given signal. So a 15W\100dB speaker will be louder than a 150W\97dB speaker. Another thing to note is that a speaker generally sounds brighter and more compressed when played close to its wattage limit, so mixing different wattage speakers could be a good idea: brighter tone from the lower wattage, fuller from the higher wattage, but I agree that the lower wattage speakers would sound best (more highs and diffusion) on top, with the heavier magnets on the bottom.
Dave put a redback in my Twin Sister combo. The fact I have not switched it for an Alnico cream says a ton. But in my mini DS combo I use an Alnico gold 10” at 40w. Kicks ass.
@@namplifier a Greenback is only 25 watts and is probably louder than the Redback due to its stronger mids. Power handling and efficiency are very different things, mate.
I vaguely recall if a cone is lighter and has less stiffness to the surround it will be more efficient. Might be wrong though, speaker design is pretty technical :)
@@heythere6983 I don't know if I'd use dark to describe them. Reds are pretty balanced to my ears and the CL80 has some additional high end, but reminds me of a high powered greenback blended with a V30. Hard to explain but I do know the RB and CL80 blend well. Same with the K100 and MC90. Also did some comparing to the EVM12 and Governor, DV77. DV77 is amazing blended with the Governor.
Those JMP's and JCM's just crush, especially boosted. 🤘🔥
Good ear for tone settings dude! You just made me buy these after endless comparisons.
thats awesome!
This is one of the best guitar tones I've ever heard!
thank you!
that boost totally brought that to life.
Yep, that is THE sound.
Sounds fricken huge. I have a couple of redbacks on the way and this adds to the excitement
Dude, that boost sounds killer! Gonna have to get one myself. Got a Redback on the way already for my 1x12 cab.
Love this speaker. Especially good mixed with a V30 or CL80.
Sounds good with a K100 and H75 too.
Sounds quite pleasant
Absolutely love your vids man. There are so many gear demoers on YT, but none that specialise in "boutique high-gain" the way you do. Cheers
Sounds great, now I want a JMP as well
I’m getting these soon. Thanks for reinforcing my decision 😂
Holy s**t! this is the sound! Great demo and great rig!
I installed this last year on my Peavey PAG 120. 46L6GC , 12Ax7 driver , 120 watt RMS. Like it should be!
Great Speaker i think ill try some with my Marshall Vintage Modern
Did you try it? How’d it sound?
Dude! that sounded Amazing don't change a thing!!!!!
haha, sold the cab and the head!
Nice, ordered a Redback to pair with my Creamback 75 in a Bassman cab with my SV20. Should be sick!
lemme know how it comes out!

Ahhh yes that sounds fat and huge, and subscribed to the channel 🎸🎶🎶😎🤘🏻
Love it. I have one in my 2x12 with a alnico cream
better than two alnicos? i use two in an ENGL 2x12 right now- massive!
i have em now with an Alnico cream also -->Awesome!!
Redback is a fuckin good speaker, have to mix it with an V30 also soon.

Amazing! Are the pickups Arcane 13 set?
Thanks!
its awesome!
Nice tones bro! How do they compare to the alnico creams for high gain?
Much more punchy and tighter, a tad darker too.
GOD, im sold lol Beautiful speakers, anyway man, it be rad if you could do some lessons on your playing style.

they are also 150w speakers, some folks want earlier breakup. I think they sound like a super powered greenback with tight lows and neutral highs.

@@RezaMatix o yeh sounds great I've heard good things with the redback :-)
I have a 1982 Marshall cabinet loaded with G12h100. How do you think the redback sounds compared to the G12H100? Thanks
it has more of a V30 mid punch, not as flat as the 100 you have.
How would these mix with V30s on the bottom? Would they overpower or mix well. Playing hard rock and metal
I would put the V30 on top. these are 150W, better suited to the bottom.

How would you say they compare to a V30 as a baseline?
more low end, less mid honk. more power.
Redbacks is a perfect blend with a V30. I do that in a 412 and it's so rich, full and fat.
Good mix with a v30 in a Mesa 2x12 with an Engl Blackmore/Savage?
Perfect classic crunch. What's that 2nd mic you're using (besides the 57)?

I was wondering if my Friedman Mini Dirty Shirley 20 watt head has enough power to push one of these speakers in a 1x12 config...thoughts?
not really. it will sound good, but there are WAY better speakers for that amp. Check out the new Celestion Ruby
@@RezaMatix the Ruby is so expensive but thanks for the reply! cheers!

Hey Reza - any idea what the efficiency of those are? As loud as a V30, or more relaxed like a Creamback? Thx!
150W, pretty loud overall but relaxed in the mids.
Their efficiency is 100 dB (1w/1m). So they're as loud as the V30.
V30 is 60w. Redback 150w, how is the v30 as loud??

Did you install an FX Loop to the Amp or do you put your time based fxs in front of the Amp?
I did not install it, but there was one in this amp when I bought it. tube buffered. works great.

✌️❤️
Do you find Redbacks have enough clarity and cut for a band setting? I am struggling.
depends on the amp and volume. these are loud speakers!
@@RezaMatix Thank you. My amps are Bogner 20TH Shiva, BFG modified Mesa Dual Rec and Mesa Mark V.
Try the Redbacks with a CL80, V30 or H75. Opens it up
I had heard the red back is very similar to the cl 80 in terms of darkness, you’d say it’s even darker?
