Mark Tremonti is the Grammy Award-winning guitarist and songwriter known for his work in the critically acclaimed Alter Bridge and in the multi-platinum rock juggernaut Creed. His sound is recognizable and has garnered him a loyal fan base worldwide.
In 2012, Mark formed Tremonti with Eric Friedman and Garrett Whitlock as an outlet for his love of harder riffs and the band has released three full-length albums to date. On June 8th, Tremonti returns with their fourth album A Dying Machine, a concept album that showcases Mark’s unique songwriting style and vocal melodies. Anthemic choruses, punishing riffs and fiery guitar solos are showcased on the album in rockers like "From the Sky" and "Throw them to the Lions" and places them alongside the infectiously catchy "Take You With Me" and "The First The Last".
Tremonti will be on a worldwide tour in support of A Dying Machine including opening for Iron Maiden this summer.
Man, I've only learned recently about Tremonti's side project. I started with his debut album. I was instantly hooked. Now he's one of my favorite artists of all time.

Prolific songwriter and just an enormous overall talent. Underrated indeed.
Eh... he's not a bad musician but his songwriting is incredibly predictable and forgettable. Entirely too formulaic and indistinguishable from a lot of other "bro metal" out there. If you want to hear a real genius, start listening to bands like Devin Townsend, Periphery, Tesseract, Valis Ablaze, Gojira, Anciients, Northlane, etc. All of them so much more interesting and engaging to listen to.
The stuff like the song in this video were written for the masses to be played on the radio. It can't stray from the script.
But like I said, Mark is not a bad musician. I just wished he would step outside the box (if his producer/label will let him)
Heavy riffs, amazing chord changes, clean guitars, all mixed with powerful lyrics and a matching powerful voice, what more could I ask? I just find myself headbanging and furiously screaming the lyrics, Tremonti has just produced another classic. Him and Myles are killing it this year. Can't wait for the album!!

mike pk666 I think the song is fine without one. The bridge is amazing the way it is, and a solo in the end of the song would have to fit in perfectly. No need to put too much into a song in my opinion. There will be plenty of great solos in other songs. Totally respect your opinion though.

As a guy who's been playing metal for 30 years, this is boring. Nothing amazing about the chord changes at all. It's pretty much pedestrian friendly corporate cookie cutter metal, but if you like it, whatever. I won't buy it, though.
The bridge in this tune is fantastic. Gets me pumped when the guitars come back.

Personally, I think this has more to do with some societies and governments and their lack of compassion and understanding, slowly becoming more like a machine.
Mark's learning more and more to be a singer, and not so much hollering like he used to. (Paraphrase on Mark's own words). In a way... he's kinda like James Hetfield. Didn't actually sing that great until later - Black album. That's where James really started to take it seriously.
Having listened to the album about 5000 times, makes the book that much better. If you havent bought the book...do it. Makes the music even that much better. I learn something new about the songs everytime I listen to them.
It's so hard to make it in rock and these guys are just churning out magic with every outing. Very fortunate to have Alter Bridge, Tremonti, Slash and their whole crew providing us great rock music AND pushing their limits as musicians

Tremonti does nothing but excel from his roots, with every album he just keeps blowing my mind. No hate for Creed but with his Solo work and Alter Bridge, he no longer needs those restraints.
While there were some good songs in Creed, MT has evolved so much as a writer, player, singer - I agree, Creed is ancient history at this point. His solo and AB work is just terrific - and not just "some" good songs, a TON of GREAT songs. The overwhelming majority of his solo and AB writing is simply fantastic!
