Myles hit that note like it owed him money.
Hahahaha
Hahahahahaha
And so effortless
Best comment on RUclips
that is so funny. that high note is epic, it never gets old.
5:49 Myles hits the high note
5:55 Mark looks at Myles thinking Hell yeah Myles
I know it!
Facts! 😁
YES SIR!
Andrew Mikhail - they sound so great together what a wonderful epic moment
Never ever saw Mark look at Scott Stapp that way during the Creed days.
Myles, what notes can you sing?
Myles: "Yes".

Indeed!
I've probably listened to this over 1000 times but that high note at the end brings the same stupid smile to my face every single time

@@bryanlenihan5012 same here!
i cried, actually ....
I’m with ya brother.

Myles Kennedy, the only singer who hits a high note better on live than on the album.
Nico G ....Agree along with Rob Hallford! 👊🏻🤘🏻
Nico G jake kizka from Greta is pretty damn good as well
And he makes it look easy. One of my favorite vocalists is Brent Smith from Shinedown, but he can't consistently nail the high notes and if he does you can see it's a Herculean effort.
He definitely doesn't attempt it at shows week in week out mind, don't turn up expecting it... He was refusing lesser notes in Glasgow last week - if you're on a tour it's understandable though!
Gareth D yes but the rare circumstances like these bigger, filmed performances, everyone is running 110%.
Possible the most criminally underrated band of all time, especially in the U.S. they should be filling 10k plus seats a night!
Cory Sutton luckily they’re way better in Europe. And music like this isn’t too big at the moment. But it’ll come around again and these guys will be way bigger than they currently are
Well you maybe right about being underated but I gave up on the "general publics" view of music ages ago , as the watch their reality shows I immerse myself in quality like this and long may it continue...
....next to Rush...

I love Marks look of approval after Myles hit that high note! Goosebumps!
I come back for that every time!
Haunting 🎉
Looking into the crowd makes me have chills! All the lights. WOW
And Myles approval while Mark's singing.
To reach that high note at 5:49, keep playing guitar and sustaining the note... man... Myles is a master at his craft.
Myles is too talented.
@@SteelPanda220 Dude, I just rewatched this video. It gives me goosebumps every time!
Myles has single-handedly inspired me to get into vocals in hopes that some day I can sing like him. Hitting these notes isn't too hard on their own. The level of power and control, though, both in his breathe and the pitch, is fucking insane. I have been training to this song every single week for a year now, and I'm only starting to be able to *isolate* the B4 hit in the choruses. Myles Kennedy isn't a master at this. He's a deity.
100%. Even Mark was like…fucking A!
@@ianj3735 im a singer too that just began practicing this song, i think the craziest part is that myles has to sing an entire alter bridge setlist at the same night lol, fucking crazy
In my opinion Alter Bridge should be the biggest metal band in the last decade. Its a travesty more people don't realize how special this band and their music is. I've been onboard since One Day Remains. Simply an INCREDIBLE band.
Dave Smith Massive fanbase in Britain and Europe, that says something. They aren't unpopular in the States, but it's a shame they're selling out Academies, Halls and Theatres in the US, and Arenas in the UK. It really should be the other way around.
Brian Bradshaw I got to see them last December in a small venue in St. Louis and it was maybe the best show I’ve ever been to. The fact they aren’t more popular here or have the mainstream success you’d expect is a shame. Look how big Creed was and they weren’t half the band then that they are with Myles.
I almost enjoy it, otherwise we wouldn't get to see them in such small/ personal venues.
@@Voodooblue89 I have seen them twice at Manchester Arena, but last October I saw them live in a 2,000-2,500 capacity opera hall and honestly, the acoustics in a smaller venue makes for a better experience, and they were on top form which helps. Definitely prefer it, but it's a shame they don't get to play in the arenas in the States.
Bands like disturbed and 5 finger death punch sell more in the US because it caters to the peoples interests. Alter Bridge is simply the best rock band in the last 20 years in my opinion. Mark tremonti and myles kennedy are absolute legends
I love the way Mark looks over at myles after he makes that high note. So much respect between the 2 of them.

I don’f know what is happening with this Band men…..I knew they where so talented, listened to the last album few times, and the Fortress several times, that’s the reason I decided to go see them in concert in Barcelona…..after that I don’t know what happened but I can’t stop listening to their music….is like They blow my mind and felt in love forever with this amazing band and their beautiful and powerful music!!! Long life to AB!!!❤
5:58 Even after years of playing together, and Mark still looks at Myles asking, "How do you still do that?"
That's something special right there

Transcription of what does Myles say with the weird voice at the start, please?
"oh you know Myles isn't going to play it cause whatever there is a high note at the end he's a big baby" LOL I loved it haha
I was thinking the EXACT same thing! Liking it simply isn't enough!
I love Myles... but the short bits of Tremontis voice we get in Alter bridge are magic
oh yes, his voice is just everything
He does sing lead on Waters Rising and is gonna sing lead on a song called Forever Falling off the new album.
2:27
Try Mark's solo band: Tremonti
Wouldn't be the same without Mark.
I love the way Myles and Mark feed off each other’s talent. No egos, just pure love for their craft.
So very different from the vibe with Scott Stapp.
Just gotta love Mark’s expression when Myles hits that high note.
That's because Scott Stapp was being a cunt by trying to dominate everything
Yea totally noticed that too, he looks over and that look just says , you nailed it bro !
these guys work together and you never hear of any animosity or anything which is rare pure musicians and like you said no egos just continuously putting out great music every album i dont know of anyone who has been this consistent and even before and during this band has great other bands and ones before that were great so much talent
Mark has more confidence in Myles than Myles has in himself. That's a truly beautiful thing to see.
In quella espressione della faccia, si capisce quanto Mark stia adorano Myles
5:55 Look for a girl that looks at you the way mark looks at myles
Yeah still haven't found that kind of girl yet 😒

True words!
Tremonti's face when Miles destroyed that high note. Perfect.
Who came here more than one time?
At least 30 times
Definitely a few times.
I think that Scott Phillips is an underrated drummer... he is unique in his style, in his touch, his drumming is really perfect for Alter Bridge. Long Live Alter Bridge!
Dario Mannu
Such an Incredible drummer 👌
Even when he's still with Creed. His drumming style is so unique.
@@qwertyzxcv123 fuck creed
He's a super cool guy too. My boyfriend and I had the privilege to do the meet and greet this year before the virus. Mark and Scott are both super cool and outgoing. Myles and Brian more shy.
I couldn't agree more with you, Dario! He's an amazing drummer
This song, this band, are a living breathing example of what you get when you put two top-notch guitarists in one band, along with other excellent musicians, and take away the ego that so often tears apart great bands. Myles and Mark are both fully capable of fronting their own bands. TREMONTI is successful, as is Myles' work with Slash. But when they come together...magic happens. The harmonies in this song were every bit as impressive as The Note™.
I love this band
Love those harmonies.
Thank you Myles Kennedy
Thank you Mark Tremonti
Thank you Brian Marshall
Thank you Scott Phillips
Thank you ALTER BRIDGE
I know Tremonti isnt on the same level as Myles. But god damn his voice just sounds hypnotic. Its so good. Hearing this song for the first time literally led me to really look into Mark. Finding out how much of a legend this guy really is..And eventually led me to his solo band. Which I feel privileged to listen to. These guys are legends in my opinion. Their songwriting and melodies are nearly unrivaled. They ARE my... and will BE my favorite musicians for a very long time to come. \m/
Mark has a fantastic tone to his voice, I think that's what's so hypnotic about it. I love his vocals and his range is perfect for harmonies with Myles.
@@billekeman5412 dead on. He's just got a wonderful tone. Waters Rising is one of my favorite songs from those guys for this specific reason.
@@TMmodify Love that song as well.
Yes, this song is a zillion percent a perfectly wonderful song on ALL levels, but honestly it's Mark's harmonies that make this song complete in my opinion. It's that little piece of magic that is sprinkled over the top of the whole thing and I don't think it would be as perfectly perfect as it is without it. Yes, Myles could clearly do the harmonies himself but he wouldn't have thought of the harmonies that Mark is singing (these harmonies are such signature Mark harmonies it's ridiculous) and wouldn't have sung them the same way (as in, Mark's voice is deeper and grittier) and it wouldn't have been as beautiful of a contrast as it is).
All this to say, the whole damn thing is just GLORIOUS!!! Lol
I feel the same. Myles is amazing, but Tremonti has really developed a great voice, especially for his solo act. Some of his solo albums feel more complete than AB's (I'm not diminishing AB, just praising Tremonti's talent when his creativity is wide open).
Seriously not bragging - just putting this on record: met Mark on Cauterize tour and he was the coolest, most friendly, chill cat. Showed me pics of his PRS concept guitar before it was even delivered. Met Myles on Last Hero Tour (and managed to NOT geek out!), and like Mark - coolest, most friendly, chill cat. People - this is rock royalty here.
Todd Scott That is absolutely cool! Myles is my hero and I hope to meet him one day. To your point about how cool Myles is, back in 2011 I lost my father and it was, understandably, a difficult time. I was looking after my mother while bearing the responsibility of letting friends know he had passed. I found it very difficult to grieve as a result and was mad at the world. I remember the day he passed on in the early hours, that evening after being out all day doing the aforementioned duties, I listened to ABIII as I emailed my dad's business clients, and Wonderful Life came on... and I burst into tears. It helped me let it out, let me grieve. I tweeted Alter Bridge about this, specifically just them. The next day, as I was finishing off emailing my dad's clients I saw a notification: "@myleskennedyofficial sent you a DM." In the message, it read: "I'm really sorry for your loss, Brian. Hearing that song represents something to you means a lot." I was stunned to say the least. The fact my idol took a few seconds out of his busy ABIII touring schedule to message me his condolences meant the absolute world to me. And I dunno, it made me cry, and smile. Myles is just the best. If I meet him I'll probably just end up breaking down and hugging him haha!
@@brianbradshaw7540 wow that's incredible
Yeah man, I met Mark, Flip and Brian all at the Hard Rock in Orlando years ago. We were waiting for a Megadeth show with Dream Theater opening and the AB guys came walking in. Chatted with us for 20 minutes before the show, then stood in back with us until Dream Theater was done at which point Mark said, "See you guys later, we're going to talk with John Petrucci for a bit!" Most down to earth dudes ever.
That's cool. The whole band are really cool, humble guys. All a pleasure to talk to.
Same here but I met them at a later period, each on their solo tour. I met Myles last year during his year of the tiger tour and Mark couple of months ago.
“You guys wanna hear Words Darker Than Their Wings, or what?”
Not a single soul would say no to that question.
I sincerely feel sorry for any human being on Earth who has not heard this. In fact it pains to contemplate the lack of recognition these most digilent and ultra-talented guys have in the world right now.
Am i the one who not from that .sorry for my disaster englishs
You are so damn right there.
It’s insane how they’ve managed to put out a slew of great, commercial sounding songs. By all rights, they should be the biggest current rock act in the world.
I agree. Not just AB but other bands that are considered Christian rock bands. Like Skillet, Disciple, plus others. I look at their views on RUclips, then I look at the views for some mainstream singers that are inferior by far, yet have multiple millions of views. It's sad that these guys don't get recognized, but their rewards will be there in the afterlife.
I just lost my Dad from COVID in the past 2 weeks and I kept thinking of this song. Here's to you Dad.
-Myles Kennedy is the most underrated singer in the last 15 years.
-Why did you said that?
-Well 5:49
If Myles was underrated I don't believe Slash would work with him man
Well, underrated doesn't mean 'not good'. There's a video made by Loudwire (I think) where Slash says how he ended up working with Myles. But yeah, Myles is really underrated and underappreciated (I'm saying this because I've seen the comment sections of Slash's videos). Alter Bridge isn't getting half the recognition they deserve, considering that they have great lyrics, great instrumentals and Myles can and will deliver during live performances. But then again, that can be said about a lot of rock bands nowadays, not because people don't listen to rock, but because most just stick with their old favorites and don't really look into new stuff.

You can’t be because I am 😂😂😂 I never tire of music 🎶 like I grew on , I barely survived the 80’s well there was few songs I could listen to but I was busy and my kids turn me on to music 🎶 like AB so I have grown again and I have restored faith in the fact that I have Derek Trucks who to my ears is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST AND UNIQUE PLAYER I HAVE HEARD IN MY GRANNIES LIFETIME, THERE ARE MANY GREAT CLEAN PLAYERS AND PLAYERS THAT ADD DIRT , DEREK IS MY FAVORITE HANDS DOWN, COMING FROM MY MUSICAL FAMILY AND BEING THE ONLY ONE WHO IS ONLY A FAN BECAUSE NOBODY HAD TIME FOR ME, ACTUALLY THE OTHERS ARE MUCH OLDER THAN ME SO THEY ARE FORGIVEN, HOWEVER I HEAR MUSIC 🎶 AND DEREK CAN WELL USUALLY SLIDE , I WILL JUST SAY NOBODY CAN COME CLOSE TO DEREK ON SLIDE HE FRETS GREAT TOO, MAYBE I LOVE HIM BECAUSE OF THE MANY GREAT PLAYERS AND HE STANDS OUT TO ME AND HE IS SO HUMBLE, I WAS TRYING JB AND SOUNDING GREAT THEN HE STOPPED AND BOWED TO TELL CROWD TO APPLAUD AND IT TURNED ME OFF JUST LIKE THAT, SORRY I WILL SHUT MY BIG MOUTH 😅
Me too
Fuggin Miles
I've no words to describe what Alter Bridge means to me .... my life is better with you guys ... I love you more than anything .... you're not a simple band ... you're everything to me
i agree man same with me
GOOSEBUMPS!!!!
Specially in the high note Myles hit perfectly at 5:49. Awesome! ♥
Bands who are better live than on record are something special.
Tool is awesome live too
That look of raw satisfaction and joy on Tremonti’s face when Myles takes the high note. Wow man. They keep reminding each other on stage why they do this.
Funny thing is, the opposite also happened, here at 2:36, looks like Myles is proud of how much Mark improved vocally.
Alter Bridge is seriously starting to become the greatest band to ever grace the earth. Seriously. I’m putting them up there with and even ahead of even the most popular and influential bands.
AB has it all. Unreal talent, heart, soul, a great loyal fan base, etc. This is arguably one of their greatest performances to date btw.
5:48 FUCK 😦🔥🤘🏽never ceases to amaze.
Genuinely think this will go down as one of the best live performances in the last 30 years. It’s better than the album version. Incredible.
So awesome! Everything sounds great, just wish the orchestra was just a little bit louder 😬
TheNerdyGinger me too
I am a musician as well and all I can say is if the orchestra was louder it would sound a mess. To "fix" this they should take of one guitar and the bass, which I think they wouldn't do because of they needed the full band to record
Sorry for the bad English, not native
Gabriel Brandão Metallica’s S&M had a pretty good mix IMO. Much easier to hear the orchestra
TheNerdyGinger the orchestra sounds alpt better listening to it through spotify
Mark Tremonti's voice is the perfect contrast to Miles'. These guys are one of the few bands I really enjoy listening to perform live. I know there are a lot of bands that thrive on stage, but the sound quality of AB is definitely a step above. Tip of the cap, boys!! Well played.
Pound for pound Myles has the best vocal range in rock history.
This is the proof that Mark’s harmonising vocals are fuckin great.. he should take more part on singing
My life is complete!
When Myles hits that high note I instantly get chills and tears in my eyes. Every time...
Myles and Tremonti should make babies.
YayMusicOfficial they do, the songs on every Alter Bridge record
YayMusicOfficial
Those babies would be oozing with talent.
... or more songs... I'll take more songs as well...
Not a mental image I needed....but now it’s there, it might as well stay
if they haven't already.
Myles has moved so many souls with that performance! What. A. Genius!
I shed a tear, wtf this performance -was- is incredible haha..
Mark and Myles are amazing , both incredible musicians, singers, storytellers, performers. And most of all the sing the songs of lives, not repetitive auto tuned crap, pure music ! Alterbridge was so seriously underrated by commercial media.
May they keep rocking for years to come !
Who's here after the "Walk the Sky" announcement?! Man I am so excited
I just got my presale tickets with best seats in the house for me and my grandad, will probably be one of the last gigs he goes to so will be extra special!
Me
Just bought my ticket for Amsterdam
Im here every week, soo.... hahahaha
ImLewisCotton Indeed... think I’m row 4 in Birmingham in 2 weeks
Just shy of 50 yrs. old Myles just smoked those vocals. Sir Myles Kennedy, the true heir to the Iron Throne \m/
Man, i love it when Myles and Mark sing together. Their voice complement each other well
Myles that note and performance was remarkable!! You sure did man up.
That was amazing 😭 brought me goosepumps and some tears. Just simply astounding work
That note Myles hits is incredible! But can we also take a moment for Brian's bass lines in this. Amazing 👏
5:58 "Thank God we didn't stick to Creed!"
😂
Don't think we should compare.. Scott stapp's voice had its own charm
@@tjsinx We shouldn't compare. Because that would make Scott cry.
@@Momesmor hasn't he enough!
@@tjsinx exactly
Why does Myles keep getting compared to Jesus? I know he's good but he is no Myles Kennedy
Reminds me of the end of the movie Rock Star, chills.
Lee 8179 ha brilliant xx
Lee 8179 omg that’s brilliant
that's just awesome
Hahahahaha love this!!!!!
the orchestra at the back really gave the song a boost. powerful, hauntingly beautiful. it's like a warcry in a battlefield and you have like a fleet of angels right behind you.
Does anyone have Replay Button Click Syndrome from this video? I think I do!
And there's the "Loop" feature...
And for "the end is here".🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻💜🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Yes and to think they didn't play this live before. I'm glad they finally did
@@nenakapowsky7851 Same goes for Shed My Skin. That is my favorite track on the original record!
That is one of the most Majestic live performances I have EVER heard.. damn...
The build up of orchestra from 5:33 through “the note” at 5:49 is just incredible perfection
Worth every second of the last 7-8 years waiting for this!
Anybody else here watching this for like the 50th time?! At 43 years old and a fan of this band from DAY 1, I'm still captivated everytime I see them live in person. I've met them several times and they are the absolute nicest most humble guys ever.
Shane Hall I’m 48 and hearing this for the first time tonight. In fact, this is the first time I am hearing them period! Where the hell have I been?!?! These guys are amazing!
I agree! I am in awww every time I watch this. I make everyone sit and watch this whenever I can
I'm 64 and listen to this song and all the rest of their music every single day. I think my husband is getting jealous 😂
I don’t care how many times I listen to this, Myles hitting that high note will always give me chills.
This song gives me a mindgasm. Perfect marriage of lyric, melody and voice.
I dare y'all to find another man who is able to do these amazing things such as Myles.
When I look around the current Rock N' Roll scene, I realize that he is the most powerful voice of our time.
These days, we have nice voices... But nice is not enough. He has power in his throat and no other rockstar can sing so amazingly!
Myles's voice is absolutely the treasure of this generation.
I'd say Devin Townsend but he's metal and you said Rock n roll.
Two best vocalists in metal and rock rn
Matt Bellamy from Muse would be the closest - fascinating that both have been recently tied the the guitar that Jeff Buckley used on his Grace Album. Myles used it for a show in Paris and Matt purchased it and intends to use it on the next Muse album.
His voice is awesome, also Adam Lambert's voice is unique and Devin Townsend , three different kinds of great voices
The smile of Tremontis at 5:58 is like a proud father watching his son hit that high note
Alter Bridge + Orchestra = Pure Awesomeness
Maybe it´s just me, but do not get the people watching this and gives a thumps down :o If this is not music I don't know what is...
5:45 to 6:00 most epic moment of any live concert i have ever seen in my 36 years. bring tears to my eyes.
I'm in tears and I regret nothing.
Same exact feeling, bro
Me too, it's so beautiful, I didn't know why I teared up
Mark's smile when Myles hits the high note..
They say you are right
I hope that I'm wrong
I know that you tried
But still it is gone
Just don't you lose hope
I swear I never dream that we're alone
Now don't you let go
I swear I still believe though I don't know
Remember the years
I still walked tall
I only fear
Now I only crawl
How could I be wrong?
I hope there comes a day your fear is gone
How could we be lost?
Lost just cease to be not carry on
Into the light may you fall
Into the light may you follow
Into the light may you know
Truth alone
Into the light may you fall
Into the light may you follow
Into the light may you know
Truth alone
You can love someone
Go never to ask why
Or to fear again
Go find your peace tonight
Go set out towards the sun
Let the new begin
Go soon your day will come.
Day will come
Into the light may you fall
Into the light may you follow
Into the light may you know
Truth alone
Into the light may you fall
Into the light may you follow
Into the light may you know
Truth alone
Truth alone
Truth alone
Truth alone
"Do you guys want to hear Words Darker Than Their Wings or what?"
Hell yes!
Alter bridge is the best band of the CENTURY!!!!!!!!!!
What an amazing performance! In the DVD, after this song, as the rather long roar of applause ebbs, Myles goes on to say that they would now probably have to perform this song every time, which they'd love to if the Parallax Orchestra tours with AB every time, and the crowd goes wild again. Then, in one of the most goosebump inducing moments of the whole show (for me at least), Myles introduces Mark Tremonti - "Ladies and Gentlemen, I'd like to introduce to you, my friend, the man, the myth, the legend...make some noise for Mr. Mark Tremonti." Another roar from the crowd. The atmosphere in this show was unbelievable.
This could just be me, but the violin section at 5:32 gives me chills. It fits perfectly and builds up for what I can only describe as sheer bliss 😍
Amazing performance, just as always!
This is how it should feel to be in heaven
Sweet mother of god. This was beautiful. Thanks AB
