LuckyDC i dunno... Miles' voice is great but he is starting to ahow his age, i've seen many live performances of AB and is becoming increasingly harder for Mr. Kennedy to sustain high notes like in for example "breathe again"

Adding an orchestra just brings the whole sound up to the ceiling, what an absolutely amazing performance!
Damn this gave me chills. Whoever was hired to capture the audio for this killed it. Its like a studio recording. I am seriously stoked right now

Don’t think he’s really responsible for it but sounds like Elvis Baskette took an eye on the mix. The dynamics got only little headroom and as you say, the sound is incredible.

Harrysound they used the orchestra in the right parts. You cant have too much going on in the recording or it becomes a jumbled mess. Im curious to hear the other songs like watch over you and all that. This song was definitely not written for an orchestra to shine. Others maybe more than others
This is absolutely freaking incredible! Metal bands who appreciate the art of music enough to add a live orchestra to their songs deserve a tremendous amount of respect. I love it!

Elle Lawliet it's fine. The guitars sound like an individual pick and strum keeping the live sound and the vocals have a good cross between live and studio. O2 sounded like a damn cave. Thats fine if you dont like it, but for the general population who like to test speakers and listen on a good set, this is killer and they allowed a good headroom without it being too echoey

Elle Lawliet that’s what I meant. It’s kinda like Baskette’s signature that dynamics got only little headroom.
I once met Tremonti after an Alter Bridge show. Just hung out outside after the show. Great guy to talk to. Very down to earth. He was honest about how passion for rock and roll in the US was fading. Yet he continued to do what he loved. It’s so great to see him (and the band) make music and have his dreams further realized. Can’t wait for this album.

Miles doesn't need to be massively up front in the mix because his voice has such a juicy set of frequencies that seem to slice right through the mix. Now Dio on the otherhand was always lost in the mix which is a crime against humanity. For all the comments on here about the sound being wrong. Go try and do that in a huge venue with a 7 second reverb and a 40 piece orchestra up against a rockband. Good luck. I think they struck it right.

I was there - in the bars prior to the show, i spoke to people from ALL over the world. USA, NZ, Poland, Australia, Germany, Brazil and even Cuba. It was the best night of my life.

+Guitar Guru I am sure they were great at Red Rocks. But have you seen them perform with a 52 Piece Orchestra at one of the most prestigious and majestic venues in the world? It adds a totally different dimension. It was a magical night. It's once in a lifetime experience.
