Someone flicked their board at me once, granted I did drop in on him but thought he was going the other way. He was angled the other way and since he didn't say anything, I made a bad assumption. Long story short, his board went through my face, luckily near the mouth and not the eyes. I got6 stitches outside with 5 inside, went all the way through. Loosened a tooth as well but eventually, that fixed itself. I could have lost an eye that day. Not sure if the guy realized what he had done. :( Pretty stupid of him, all he had to do was yell "hey" and I would have either pulled back or dropped in and gotten off. What I do know is that he got a good ding on his board, although I didn't see this, the fact that the doctor pulled out a bunch of glass from my mouth, makes me think his board was damaged. And the best part of the entire story was that I made the lifeguard throw up. I asked him, where is the nearest hospital, he said why, so I stuck my tongue out through the hole in my lip. LOL Homie needs to get a stronger stomach if he plans to work in that field. haha
Wow that is such a crazy story! You dropped in by accident and this happened 😅 Glad you are ok. It good have been way worse if the nose of the board hit your eye or temple. Stay safe!
At local SoCal spots, there’s a drop in I think of as “pack of groms” where is basically like 4-8 young guys all taking off on waves when normally wouldn’t because they all know each other and don’t care … sometimes makes sessions fun since etiquette goes a bit out window and they’re usually good surfers That was crazy how close board came even just demoing aggressive behavior. I’ve had guys want to fight a few times on localized spots but never any board kick outs or anything. I’ve had some beginners bail their board or do stupid things and hit me while riding or nearby, or got wrapped up in their leash from bailed board Is localism common in Sri Lanka ?
@@GuitarWithBrett haha being dropped in on by so many grooms at once is humbling haha. Yes there is localism in Sri Lanka. Not as bad as other parts of the world. There are often party waves here. A lot of the time it seems find to drop in and surf the wave together. Also, the surf instructors push their students onto waves that you might already be up and riding on. Sometimes you will see 3 or 4 instructors at a point break push their clients in on a wave someone is already riding. This ends up in quite a few collisions!
@@tombend7604 YES! Most of it is but it is also an individualistic sort so people also get selfish and rude or disrespectful at times while surfing. Sometimes mistakes happen too which could harm surfers and make others angry..
Nice demo! How about this: I start to paddle in with a local dude who’s dropping 2-ish hundred meters up the wave. Whoops! And he yells, I back off, he freaks, and does all he can to make sure I get snakes the rest of the day. Was I really that wrong?
by snake do you mean someone that is in a better position to get the peak, than you? someone that is paddling around trying to get the best position while you do your best imitation of a buoy?
I had way too much fun making this with you!!! Super well put together fun funny and informative ✅ Haha also add my RUclips handle in there please bru 😅😂

locals in some locales, can be pretty touchy about this. it would behoove you to know, before you go.
Crazy the sh-t people get away with out on the water. Imagine trying any of this stuff in our ‘real jobs’ 😅
@@xisotopex and… it would behoove the local at his locale to let it go.
If you get snaked, is it ok to drop in on the snake?
Well that’s the million dollar question 😅 Some would say yes and some say no. I’ve definitely done it 😅 Have you?
