@@Monicalala similar to what Dr Youn said. People have began to find more wrong with themselves the more they look at themselves on screens. For anxiety they’ve found it harder to hold students attention in class and conversation
As someone who has been diagnosed with body dysmorphia I believe this topic to be incredibly important to talk about! In my opinion, mental health is so underrated sadly...
Also same with body dysmorphia as with eating disorders etc, like you are exposed to it everywhere all the time... if it's your own body in the mirror, or bodies in commercials, SoMe etc etc... it's everywhere and insanely hard to avoid - like EDs, like you can't avoid food, you have to learn all about food all over... and work on the *underlying problems* as that is often forgotten in all of it. And body dysmorphia is not just low self esteem, it's literally your brain creating wrong images in your head when looking/analyzing your body... I hope you get the right treatment to get yourself better from it, I do not wish anything like that on my worst enemy as it is pure hell to heal and recover from something you can't just avoid. Like drug addictions you can find ways of avoiding, but food, mirrors, bodies are all around us! So it's about developing a different relationship to your body, and try to get to the root of the situation, what causes your mind to literally change your perception of yourself and others... I've struggled with this a lot after starting new medications four years ago now? I used to be slim, and now I'm plus sized, and just adapting to that is hard... and I work out a lot, walk a lot, eat healthy. And nothing changes weight-wise... and constantly getting diet-ads or whatever when online is weirdly triggering... but it's also hard to tackle as a society... like how do you avoid displays of bodies? Or how food is a necessity... like I only follow anti-diet people on instagram (Jameela Jamil is amazing on this!!!) Yet my ads etc always talk weight, diets... like it's so hard to get away from it, and also you can't get away from it... because bodies exist, so we have to learn to deprogram our brains... which is so hard and such a process. Good luck to you!!
@Kristine Heen I completely agree with you, everything around us feel almost threatening and it's indeed very complex to develop new and healthy associations to it. Best of luck to you as well sweetheart!
People really need to focus in more meaningful things. Is not worth it, we all are going to age and finally die, either you go through plastic surgery or not. Eat well and compassionately, excersise, do yoga and be good to each other.
I need to hear that. I don’t know what to think anymore. I am SO lonely and depressed. AND I feel like my life is over because I will be 50 soon, have back, neck, and pelvic issues, and no one!
He is so right! You have to know that surgeries are perminant and standarts always change so fast so make sure you really wanna do it! As a medical stident i can tell that even a simple boob job really effects your life
That’s why I can’t have my camera self up in Skype and my Dad doesn’t use the camera whenever he’s on zoom. We just get way to anxious and I find that I only spend the time picking out all of the flaws in my face rather than fully talking to the person I’m actually talking to :/
People generally are only looking at themselves. They don't pick out your flaws…or even care...only themselves, so its mostly a waste of time worrying about what you look like on video and in photos.

Hi Katie! I love botox and recommend it definitely between the eyes and lines on the forehead.. I lines so deep, you could plant corn! Seriously though.. if they offer Dysport get that! It's cheaper than botox and for me it lasts longer, really!

Hi doctor!!! Can you make a video about the plastic surgery of Shruti Haasan? She's an indian actress and got one of the best most successful plastic surgery transformations!!! 😍
People lost their jobs, on the verge of losing homes yet people can still afford plastic surgery??? Vanity. All vanity. Nothing new under the sun. Now we know where their stimulus checks are going. 😳😳😳 I am beautiful the way GOD made me. No makeup, no jewelry, no shape wear, no high heels. At 72, I am aging gracefully, triple chin and all. 🥰🥰🥰 (my mind is 15, my body thinks it's 93)!!!
@@ebh9163 I cannot afford such luxuries, can you? Insurance does not pay for surgery so you can look good on Zoom. Only way I could afford it is to blow my stimulus payment on such nonsense. I have to spend mine on medical bills.
@@ruthiemay4799 yes, that's my point, I can afford it if that was my priority.... Is not. I am just saying that the great majority of people used the stimulus check like You and I did. In necessities not plastic surgery, if someone used that check for plastic surgery then they need to use some to go for a psychological check up too... 😂 Lol
Some people are willing to pull a few extra bucks from other expenses to cover the surgeries because they feel like that is priority. Insurance will not cover anything cosmetic. It’s hard enough to get them to pay for surgeries your doctors are yelling at them saying you actually need this to improve your health.
she literally said she's never had botox but her forehead is stiff and isn't moving at all when i see a slight of expression in her eyes. idk how to feel about that, I'm not buying it
No shame should be associated with surgery. As a woman in a male dominated industry, I am VERY aware that my colleagues can look like crap, smell like crap, and despite their behavior towards customers are still rising in the ranks. I am aware that if I bundle up in office or don't put on makeup, they think I don't care about my phone queue job. Ummmmmmmmmmm no, just cold.
You need to care less about what other people think, I'm not sure where you work.. But boy you need, if possible, get out of there ASAP. You can do it, put your mind into it. Plastic surgery it is a waste of time and money and whatever you do it won't be enough to avoid the inevitable, age and die. While you care about other's impressions of your physical appearance, some other people probably think you are amazing and intelligent.. Focus on those people.
