Counterparts vibes at the end of the track 🙌cool to see these amps make their way over to Helix, the inclusion of the extra settings/switches on the XTC amps is great
Ugh, professional video review! Nice. The mix in the beginning lacking bass btw, but everything else is great. I LOVE EV Panama, such an awesome amp and model.
It’s a custom one that’s a blend of a Mesa v30 and orange cab. I’ll make a new one for the channel that’s similar and I’ll share it with everyone… stay tuned I’ll put it with an upcoming vid
Great review, I surely appreciate it, I have a question. How do you get the input and output levels on HX edit? I would like to have that on when I am working on patches as well. Thank you 😄🙏🏼
Someone else said turn off the hardware compatibility (mine is off, maybe it’s helping). Goto settings and make sure it’s off and see if that helps. We don’t need arbitrary processing limitations anyway, no need for the patches to be compatible with a stomp or other unit
It's been so long I dont really remember it just always looks like this to me. Someone else said it's because I have "hardware compatibility OFF". Goto Settings --> Hardware Compat --> Compat Mode --> (Set this to OFF). I have no need to limit Helix patches for hardware since I'm only running it in Reaper, no need for arbitrary limits. If that doesnt work do some googling or join Discord and we can figure it out.
He’s using the Helix Native Plug-in, there’s a compatibility mode that allo s you to make presets to match whatever HX product you have - the re fun with Helix Native plug in is turning OFF compatibility and you have a 32 Core Helix
@@ampspedalspickups Yeah with 'Compatibility Mode' OFF You Basically have As Many 'Cores' as you PC / MAC Has. Forget quad cortex you've got a 64 Core Helix ha ha..... I literally tested my PC and even tho they cancelled each other out I ran 32 instances of Poly Capos to see if it would crash my PC and it didn't!!!! I use Helix Native for Sound Design running Cellos / Violins / Drums / Choirs through the weird and wonderful FX in Helix! Great Stuff
I'm lowering the SAG i pretty every case to 0. I don't know how exactly describe this parameter. Is sound like on higher values amp become more compressed and basy. Lower the Bias and rise Bias X. Amp sim become more percussive. Those control the headroom of preamp and power amp tubes (in real amp this parameter controls the voltage level of those components changing its behawior). Turning up master volume saturate more power "tubes" in power amp section. This happened because we are maxing the amplification capabilities of those components. Effect of this is that sound become more thick, base heavy and compress.
@@ampspedalspickups A! If you have a god tone but to quiet or loud you can use channel volume. This controls a "piure" output of amp, and don't affect any tonal properties of amplifier.
Nah unless there was an actual physical continuous rotary encoder to work with give me the vertical or horizontal sliders any day over any skeuomorphic graphical control. The only other thing I can ask for with the HX Edit/Helix Native interface is clicking on a parameter and modulating the value with up/down, left/right/ page up/down buttons.
I can't shake the feeling that they all sound like they're underwater. I have the Helix LT and I'm trying to avoid that sound. Seems like the Mic makes the most difference, but man... once that idea got in my head I just can't shake it.
I get that feeling most of the time I have some sort of 3d mic control, always feels off. It’s why I didn’t want to test the new cabs in this video, just used an IR I’m used to that’s nice and bright and the models came out pretty good
Horizon Drive + EV Panama Red channel + XXL 4x12 with the 160 mic option dead center and 12k high cut = INSANE slam death metal tone 😮💨🔥
Oooof noted 🤣
Run the solar with fishmans in drop G through that bad boy for emmure level death mosh
Line6's updates never disappoint. The XTC addition is awesome.
It’s so deep I couldn’t do it justice, need to figure out some good combos
Just updated! LOVE the Fender Super!!

Those drum midis were from counterkit there, so inspiring to chug on them, Kyle’s an absolute weapon
Such a damn good channel youve got here, mate. Love it
Legend 🤜🤛 🤌
This blew me away... the 5150 sounded absolutely incredible.. floored that this is a helix amp

I LOVE EV Panama, such an awesome amp and model.
EV Panama is a beast 💪
@@ampspedalspickups And it FEELS excellent. This amp has so much gain, I probably will never use all of it. 3-4 is the sweet spot.
The only one I really mess with is the Sag control. It pretty much dials in the tightness/flubbiness of the response to my ears
This Bogner model sim fits great for Jerry Cantrell type sound
I need to give it more time, with all those modes I’m sure there’s tons in it
What is the IR that you use? That tone was unbelievable for the EVH.

@@ampspedalspickups I too, would love to get my hands on that IR. That tone is right up the alley of what I'm going for.
@@brett_harvey Shooting a video today, you'll all be very happy :)
@@ampspedalspickups Nice. The EV Panama Red is a great model and with your IR sounded awesome.

How to you get the input output level meters to show in Helix native, like yours do?

@ampspedalspickups hmm.. don't see that option anywhere. I have Helux LT, maybe that's why
how are you getting the input/out meters

Haha yeah it threw me for a loop when the limits were on cause it was stopping me from adding stuff. No limits here baby!

I hate the sliders 🤣, can’t get into it. Modulation stuff would be handy. I think that’s close to how fractal edit works you can right click on things

The Engl Fireball is pretty good as well, the other one I used to gravitate to
@@ampspedalspickups yeah I’ve tried that too, the revv models are also pretty good if you haven’t tried those
