I’m here because Krejcikova is in the 2024 Wimbledon final.
And she has now won it . Great tribute she paid to her too

She was a class act. I can't begin to express how happy I was when she won. It's hard to believe that she is gone, and so young. She made an impact

Martina Navratilova was inconsolable when she heard her best friend -- Jana -- had passed away secretly. It was a blow that she couldn't overcome. Jana was there beside Martina when the 9-time Wimbledon champion was undergoing chemo. Literally, it was Jana driving Martina to the doctor.
That is simply heartbreaking

As an Englishman and long time Wimbledon follower, other than Virginia Wade's victory all those years ago in 1977, I cannot think of a more emotional and deserving win than when Jana Novotna finally did it on her third attempt. Especially poignant as her coach was unsuccessful finalist Hana Mandlikova, who must have felt like the runner-up curse was finally lifted that day. RIP Jana.

Jana Novotna was one of my favorite players on Wimbledon. No one deserves it more to win Wimbledon than Jana. She was good enough to win it 3 times in a row.

Such a bright smile; a lady who inspired many people with her determination and courage. One of the best tennis players and beautiful to watch. So sad to lose her battle with cancer at only 49 years old...always missed.

The Duchess of Kent has always been an incredibly stylish lady whose kindness and warm radiates from the inside out.
The Duchess of Kent was the Princess Diana of her generation. For many years she taught music to schoolchildren without telling anyone she was a Duchess. Music was her great love. A very warm and charming woman.

I was one match away from seeing her play in 1999 doubles final at Wimbledon, due to rain delays the match was to be played on No.1 court for which I had tickets, however Jana & Natasha Zeverva lost in semis 😭 but considering Jana badly damaged her ankle in the doubles with Natasha in French Open few weeks earlier they did extremely well to get there💖
Being able to watch 2 of the greatest doubles players from the late 80s and 90s would have been magical.
For 10 years(I think) it was either Jana or Natasha competing in the finals of Wimbledon doubles !!!!

As a big tennis fan I saw all Jana Novotna's finals, the crushing defeat in 1993, truly heartbreaking for all Czech fans but especially for her, I was so happy for her when she finally won it in 1998. And now Barbora Krejcikova ... simply amazing.

Ogni volta che rivedo Jana mi emoziono. Grazie a Barbora che sabato scorso l'ha ricordata così intensamente alla fine del match (alzando lo sguardo al cielo per salutarla) e dedicandole una gran parte dell'intervista finale che mi ha commosso.
