Mine injury is described at 9:19 and it was absolutely impossible to get diagnosis in Finland! I spend a lot of time looking into problem and possible cures myself. You are one of the rarest finds that could bring a light on this issue and help me. Thank you a lot for your videos! I am 5 months in a gradual recovery, and hoping to get rid of this problem completely, hopefully soon.
Special kudos for stellar organization. The table of contents and the links to the related videos really helped me navigate to the appropriate info. Thanks!
I took me so many videos and web browsing to find your video and find out that I have a fascia cruris injury, likely due to climbing! The closest info I could find before it was about heel bursitis, this is great information! Thank you!!!
Thankful to have found your helpful video. Experienced sharp pain in my heel pad/back of my heel today, suddenly. Only when barefoot. Hoping I'm experiencing minor bursitis 🤞
Easiest fix is usually to avoid being barefoot and just temporarily avoid positions that hurt. Hopefully that's enough to allow it to settle down. If you do need further help, this is something that our team of physios can assess and help you with via video call. This help I'm going in out of a cargo van 4 days a weeks and my pain start suddenly in my heel pain in side of the heel and Achilles tendon attaches to the heel and sense I run a lot during work it hurts over time and get more painful and sadly I've stepped on my foot the wrong way and it became super unbearable to point it hurt to put pressure on my foot Ive been icing it and relax but it's only it my right foot
heloo from aus, im currently dealing with outer heel pain that ive been trying to fix for 5 years, many podiatrists, dr's, physio's, a spine specialist, soft tissue expert have been seen and nobody has any idea. both heels, on the edge burn after prolonged standing, its getting worse so i cant stand for much longer then half hour to an hour usually, no protaned or supernated feet, running or walking generally doesnt hurt, only standing still, no nerve issues, my pelvis is anteriorally tilted and used to suffer back issues but thats all sorted now as my hip flexors were tight but foot pain is getting worse. standing in a hot shower is something that seems to allow me to stand longer, ive watched endless videos on heel pain and nothing matches up, its not a plantar issue and theres no pain anywhere else, just the corners of my heels and can somewhat radiate toward the arch, but mostly the heel. please please help if you can, ive got no idea what to do from here.
Hi there, We cannot provide individual treatment advice without doing an in-depth assessment of your injury and your personal circumstances, as the advice might not be appropriate for you. You're welcome to book a video consultation with one of our physios if you would like an assessment and a personalised treatment plan: www.treatmyachilles.com/
My heel pain came after playing 4 games of softball in a less than 6 hours. I have been walking in barefoot shoes for a while ad figured running in them should be fine also. I have really strong legs and huge well defined calves. I turned 50 this year and haven’t ran, let alone sprinted since high school days. I know I over did it that day. The tendons in my thighs are still tight now 3 weeks later, and since I can’t take days off work I still experience heel pain. It gets slightly better each day. I do try to take it easy on days that I can, but life must go on. 😅
Great information . I think I have bursitis around the heel, caused from new tennis shoes. It has been a week of pain in my heel but has been building. Will get different shoes.
I’ve had Achilles pain for a long time. I always burn holes in the heel area of my socks and where I rest my feet on the carpet in my cars. I recently played basketball and hear something pop in my calf but I can still flex my feet. My calf was just tight for a few days. I don’t know what’s wrong with it… this video gave me a few ideas. Thank you!
Some of our physios are booked out quite far ahead, but the system can't show more than three months ahead. But as I write this, our next availability for Initial Consultations is on March 14. You can go to this page and select "Any available" to see the earliest availability, or select a specific physio to see their availability. www.treatmyachilles.com/book-online-initial-consultation
Iv had pain in the heel sole of my right foot since May iv seen a podiatrist 5 times now but things have got so much worse I now can not walk or put any pressure at all on the heel of my foot i was in so much pain i went to A&E but there was little they could do for me as the podiatrist has referred me to Msk when I told the podiatrist I went to A&E because of the pain she sent me for a Exray of my foot & asked again for a urgent appointment to msk , I'm on cruches i can not walk . I do have fibromyalgia really bad & she thinks it's nerve damage, what can be done to stop the pain I am all ready on a lot of pain relief & I take anti-inflammatories Iv done the stretching , iv bought a massage roller None of it has helped its getting worse
We can't really tell what is right for you to do without actually having assessed your foot. In our experience, one of the most common things that can make heel pain worse is when people do stretching exercises for it because it pulls on the painful area. So stopping any stretches might be a good idea. Then, it might also help if you wear shoes with a heel on them or use inserts that lift the heel a bit because that reduces the strain on that area - we explain it in this video: ruclips.net/video/crzrN0KseWg/видео.html If you want help figuring this out and with getting back to your normal activities, this is something that our team of physios can assess and help you with via video call. If it is referred pain from the lower back, would that normally be pain in BOTH heels? Or can it be one heel? (The stinging tingling odd sensations made me wonder if this is what I am experiencing). Last time I saw a physio she thought it was from peroneal tendon but I was not having any symptoms on the day of appointment (typical!) So she was relying on my description of the memory of the pain…
Hello I went to my foot doctor and he took x-rays he said I had access tissue that was irritated achilles tendonitis. I went back to my doctor because I was in excruciating pain where I have a hard walking sitting, laying down, and raising it. He put me in a half calf boot. I use ibuprofen & biofreeze to help with the pain. Do you have any suggestions that will help me with the pain especially when I get up in the morning to go to the restroom I barely can stand.
Wearing shoes with a slight heel or heel lift inserts (so avoid walking barefoot) can make a very big difference: ruclips.net/video/crzrN0KseWg/видео.html If you want more specific rehab advice and help with getting back to your normal activities, this is something that our team of physios can help you with via video call. This sounds like what is going on with me I would love to talk with you more about this Im so desperate to figure out what is going on with my ankle/heel area the pain is unbearable ugh
Never too late - it can always improve. You just need to figure out how to reduce the strain on it and get it to recover. Hey, so I haven't had money to get a session with you guys, but my foot bursitis calmed down. Thanks for your video. I have one other question if once I start increasing load exercises, can it go away permanently. I'm still scared to do anything right now besides basic mobility training so it doesn't get stiff. There aren't enough videos, and the paper reviewed paper I tried to read costs 20-40$. Thank you again. Im just discouraged if I will be ever able to do high impact things again even if I get the muscles and tendons around my foot stronger. I will soon be seeing a sports physical therapist soon just got my insurance card.
Your rehab will slowly help you restore your foot and bursa's capacity to do your exercise and training - as long as you slowly ease into things, it will be OK. Also, try to identify why it happened in the first place, so you can avoid making the same mistakes in future.
My heel suddenly hurts for no reason. Let me explain.. I walk toward as normal. I feel the pain when I lift my foot to take another step forward as I lift my heel. I especially feel it when I walk down the stair. Any idea what happened?

Me too. Quite mysterious. It can go from nothing to pretty painful day-to-day. No swelling, redness, heat, bruising or anything visible (to me). It’s even hard to find by manipulation. Almost feels like plantar fasciitis when it’s bad, but I’ve had PF a few times and nothing else about this pain is consistent with PF. Annoying as hell.
WOW never heard of the sural nerve before, yet that perfectly describes where I have pain. doctors keep telling me "there is nothing there"
