    What's your opinion on Aaron Rodgers? Do you think he'll be ok? I did hear that he was having MRIs throughout his recovery, so he has a little more insight into the length of his tendon. I just hope people don't get discouraged if it's taking them a while to heal compared to others. Don't compare! Heal on your body's terms.

    I had Achilles surgery last week at TCO. Will follow your videos to see what I have in front of me.

      @@davypettit I wish you a full recovery! It's an unfortunate injury, but we'll come back. I'm on week 18 now. Walking barefoot, jogging, and even starting to hop on my surgery leg. You'll get there!

    Thanks for sharing. I’m about to hit my 6 week mark. I am not putting on as much weight through the boot as you are. I’ve been slow to recover because I’ve been nervous about putting weight on

      You'll get there! It seems like different surgeons have different recovery protocols. I think taking a slower path is just fine. I'd rather be fully recovered than risk hurting myself. It looks like Aaron Rodgers is still having issues, and it's been nearly a year. I think it's possible he pushed recovery a little too much.

    It would be great to go over what are the riskiest PT moves that would case a rerupture. I kept hearing that calf raises do cause reruptures.

    • @activeintech
      @activeintech  2 месяца назад +2

      @anythingss according to my PT, the greatest risk for rerupture occurs around weeks 6-12. I'm guessing this is in part because people try to do more than they should. We are taking a more conservative approach, but I'm liking it. We aren't doing anything that hurts. My achilles feels a little tight at times, but never hurts. I think anything that puts sudden pressure on it is risky right now. No plyometrics for 6 months for the program I'm on.

      @@activeintech make sense, I am @ week 7, and this is exactly what I am trying to do: AVOID anything but soft walks and small steps, always use the boot, & never stretch the tendon until week 13, ... god luck !

    I went the conservative root I never used crutches weight bearing from the beginning, no ow I'm in 8 week no boot and I can walk with no problems.

    By week 6 of my Achilles recovery (post-op), I was walking without heel lifts in my boot and could walk moderately without shoes. I'd say you're fairly behind based on your walk in this video.

    • @activeintech
      @activeintech  Месяц назад +1

      @antoniowhitfield2936 my surgeon and his team wouldn’t let me get out of my boot until week 10. I think different surgeons think differently about it. We'll see what happens from here. My main goal is a full recovery.
