Will never toss out one again. You did however, not touch on how you could use it for corn starch or other baking, and level your spoon with the edge of the wide opening. Use it for powder sugar, sprinkle onto cakes, etc. Good ideas, thank you
The parmesan lids also work well on glass mason jars (the jars with the smaller openings). These jars come in many different heights, so you can customize the volume. Thanks for the great ideas!
I have a huge amount of Mason jars with handles for drinking and your idea of using the Parmigiano lids is wonderful for me because I have children and a husband that can spill anything! LOL 😅 Now, I can see if the lids will fit and put a straw in there for less messes to have to clean up!! 😉
I use one to put instant potatoes flakes in. then, when I need to make a thicker sauce or gravy use it instead of cornstarch. Love the ones shown and will try some of them.🌻🙏🏻✝️
Wash the container with baking soda and dry it in the sun to get the smell out. The parm smell sinks into plastic, great to reuse for storage or paint but Plastic grows bacteria much faster than glass. So I wouldn't reuse it too much for food. But you can definitely reuse it for all the other purposes.
I use the tall wipe containers for storing plastic utensils and keep them in the truck, you can store all kinds of little things in them, great when you’re traveling or just for those emergencies when you need a spoon after buying a pint of ice-cream and can’t wait to get home to eat it! lol
I have tons of jars like this that I've cleaned and saved and I never know what to do with them. Thank you for this video that doesn't just give us two or three ideas, but many ideas! This is perfect! Just what I needed. Thank you! Also, I agree with someone else who suggested using a spoon on the large side for sugar, or with measuring spoons so you can use the edge to scrap it off. I was thinking the same thing. Added bonus!
I have used 1 for years to keep Q-tips in. I put a piece of wallpaper border around it to decorate it. They shake out easy and is much nicer than the box they come in.
I’ve been using mine for baking soda for the last few years. One I keep by the sink to help clean the sink, pans, the counter spills that refuse to leave. Also, I keep one in the bathroom to clean everything and I keep another one in my laundry room, if needed to treat a stubborn stain, sprinkle some baking soda in the laundry load to help soften our hard water or if my washing tub needs a cleaning, then I use baking sodait alone to run a cycle & usually follow it with a load with vinegar after that.
I thought of using them to organize extra packets we all seem to end up with from fast food joints. Extra ketchup from Mickey D’s, taco sause, dipping sauce, mayo, whatever! Mine are always all over the place.
GOOD ONE 👍 I like that idea 💡 We have alot of those extras too! Plus, use masking tape and write the date on it and put it on your jar so you don't keep it too long before it gets rancid. Just thought of that. 😉
Thank you!!! I actually have a bunch of them in a bag and I have only used a few when painting... Love the baking soda and chocolate chips hack 👌🏻 Blessings from the Universe 🙌🏻🌈🌞🙋🏻♀️🌻💕
I swear I just got done with my cheese container a few minutes ago and I was thinking about what I could use it for other than it’s purpose and now I have numerous ideas so thank you ! I rarely throw certain things away because I’ll always find a use for whatever it is I reuse lots of things .
Love this idea as the Bar Keepers Friend also clumps and gets wet in bathroom from moisture I believe. I’ll definitely try this once I finish the parm.
What do you use your empty creamers for? I’ve used mine (both sizes) to put Cheerios in for treats for my grand dogs (2) over night bags when they’ve come to stay over several days from Honey! 😊 Keep one in our boat for our own dog when we’re out fishing or just pleasure riding on the lake. Keep a couple filled in cabinet for Keurig to keep from removing the water holder.
Same here, I use the tall ones for uncooked popcorn storage, pumpkin seeds and Monk fruit sugar, hempseeds flaxseeds and almond flour all from Costco. If you are a crafter and use beads, safety pins or other small items that will make a mess if knocked over, these containers are great for them too. I use Natural Bliss coffee creamer and they have two different tops and the ones I like the best is the white screw on that’s on the bottle. You can’t tell which one you buying until you get it home and open it up. A couple of times my significant other bought a different creamer with the red tops and after he finished using it-I don’t drink that creamer because the ingredient list is as long as my arm, so I used those containers for can coconut milk and anything that’s nut based because my grandchild have a nut allergy and she and my daughter know NOT to use anything from red containers or tops. So start saving them you will find some use for them. I love recycling and repurposing items to help save our planet, oceans and lakes for our people we are leaving behind.
I've got one, I put Q tips in there and when you need one open the lid with the holes ,shake and out comes a Q tip. Keeps them clean and easily accessible.
That's wat I was thinking and she had her sugar already in a jar I don't go through parm like that and at the dollar store u can either buy a jar or make one . But ty for sharing
Hey Cass, love your videos. I always have put Baking Soda in these but your ideas are fantastic. How about sharing season all recipe with us. Janice in TN
Not new to me. I've been using those for yrs! Started w/ using one for baking soda. I have my own cleaning business & it was a way to carry the baking soda in my candy when I clean w/ it& vinegar.
Not my idea however I am a housekeeper and follow a Facebook housekeeper group we travel with our cleaning supplies and someone suggested putting powdered cleansers like bar keepers friend ajax or comet that do not come with kids into the parmesan container keeps cleanser from spilling out
I’ve done this for years, but I label mine. I have myriad different sugars, plus sugar with cinnamon mix, then it’s so easy to sprinkle on toast. I use various sizes for different nuts, such as whole, sliced, almonds, walnuts, pecans, etc., I have one for easy access to flour, baking soda, powder, and cornstarch. It’s easy access, plus organized. I use them for my cake decorating supplies, plus in sewing, or art. However, I don’t eat this type of cheese (?), as it’s made from cellulose, which is wood chips; so it’s hard to find these containers.
I couldn't get past why you squirted detergent near the drain, ran the water so the soap goes down the drain as you quickly attempt to capture some of the soap with your fingers to wash the container! That was a first for me.
I use mine as a water glass. Each section is 4oz. It holds 16oz of water. So after I fill it 4 times I know I drank my water for the day. The lids don't really keep things fresh. When I was washing out mine I put the lid on to shake it. Water squirted out from the top. So I use another lid for the none pour.
Love these ideas. Tip: If I don't have a funnel on hand I cut a small water bottle in half and use the top for a funnel. Easy peasy.
Will never toss out one again. You did however, not touch on how you could use it for corn starch or other baking, and level your spoon with the edge of the wide opening. Use it for powder sugar, sprinkle onto cakes, etc. Good ideas, thank you

Mason Jar would be better for paint brushes less chance tipping over
SusieQ, I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to copy your remark. I put mine before I saw yours.

I already use mine to sprinkle my fertilizer mix ! I do this with my spice containers too! Recycling is the best way to save the planet!

This is why I toss the container. The lid fits a small mouth pint or quart jars that are easier to sterilize.
I have one in my car for loose change. Fits in a cup holder.
I use these to keep my chrochet hooks collection together
I use a very tall Rx bottle; hooks, needles, nail clippers or small scissors fit nicely and the kids won't come off!
I save the lids and use them on my regular size Mason jars they screw right on.
Love recycling/repurposing! Great ideas! Being cheap goes with being inventive and crafty.
I use my parmesan bottle and refill it with parmesan cheese I bought in a plastic bag. 😊
Me too!

Exactly the ice cream perfect
Never thought about using these containers. Just dawned on me that you could use it to spread grass seeds or grass food pellets.

I reuse those containers. I’m type 2 diabetic. Perfect container to dispose all my used sharps etc.
Love all these ideas! I can't wait to try the paintbrush one with my kiddos, I'm excited about not stressing over spilled water lol!
This is the First Hometalk suggestion that has ever been of any value for me!!!!!!! Congrats and ty
Love the idea for baking soda and use in my fridge
I have used 1 for years to keep Q-tips in. I put a piece of wallpaper border around it to decorate it. They shake out easy and is much nicer than the box they come in.
I also use them to put screws in and drill bits that I find laying around my house.
I have men that can't seem to put things away.
Imagine that ! Lol.

I use mine for cleaners like Bon Ami, Zud, Barkeepers Friend, Ajax, etc. I stays dry and resists lumping. And if it does, you can actually fix it.
AWESOME, THANKS I'll put my Comet in one. Makes great sense!!!
Love this idea as the Bar Keepers Friend also clumps and gets wet in bathroom from moisture I believe. I’ll definitely try this once I finish the parm.
Fantastic ideas, better than sending it to the landfill!
I use the spice containers for salad dressing when I pack salads for lunch.
I love that idea 🙌🙌
Great ideas! I save my creamer containers, small or the large bottles, and use them for storage too with the red snap lid they are great for storage!

+1 for recycling plastics.... Especially personally recycling, and limiting purchases. Glass is a great alternative

And the lids fit mason jars for better bigger storage containers
Tip: I'm an artist and you should never let your paint brushes to stand in water. It ruins them. The bristles will come out of the metal shank.
Not many plastic bags could fit it there but I do like to disposable gloves in there , not the rubber gloves . Handy in bathroom for cleaning

You give me the impression that you are an Occupational therapist!!! 🥰
I doubt that she’s an Occupational Therapist, or she never would have washed the container as she did; sinks harbor germs!

Lol, it looked to me like she had the stopper in the sink.

Not a sanitized action, nor enough soap to remove the odor.

What is your surface made of?
One drawback with using those for some things you have air in the jar than you would with a resealable bag
Hint: a steak knife peels labels easier than scissors.
I use those small paring knives that are useless for everything else.

Use for powdered sugar
I use the ones I save for my craft items.
I use mine for nails and screws.
I have been using it for baking soda for cleaning
You can use it for flour to sprinkle on the counter to make biscuits, or in a pan while making gravy. :)

I reused a powdered creamer container to store sugar for my coffee.
I had fertilizer and use on my potted plants
Nobody is stealing this hack, just recycling a Parmesan container🤣🤣🤣
