Home is an inspiring film set in the heart of the Okavango Delta, home of the Wayei people. It tells the story of Gobomang Kgetho, affectionately known as GB, who has spent his entire life immersed in the beauty and tradition of this remarkable place. From a young age, GB explored the delta with his father, learning its secrets and rhythms.
Unlike many who leave the Delta, GB's connection to his home is profound. His parents taught him to live in harmony with their surroundings, instilling in him a deep respect for nature and its resources. For GB, the delta is more than just a place; it’s a way of life. He is now dedicated to sharing this knowledge, believing that preserving the delta’s legacy is essential for future generations.
This film captures the essence of life in the Okavango Delta, showcasing the deep bond between GB and his home, and highlighting the importance of environmental stewardship.
"Home" was born from an inaugural storytelling workshop hosted by @greatspineofafrica in partnership with @afrisos @intotheokavango and @wildbirdtrust in Botswana.
