Inflating Fenris with a Diesel Locomotive

  • Have you ever seen a giant blow up wolf being inflated using a train engine? Now you have! On one of my many visits to the Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth, Georgia, Fenris and I found ourselves without an air pump. Not willing to let that ruin our day, we asked museum staff if they had a pump...and they let us use the biggest one they had! Fenris is seen here being blown up with air from the main air tank mounted under the frame of General Electric 50-ton centercab diesel-electric locomotive number 3. After we got his legs blown up, he spent the afternoon posing with (and in) various pieces of equipment around the museum. This video was made back in 2017, but Fenris is still going strong and visiting trains around the country! Many thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Southeastern Railway Museum for their gracious assistance every time I visit.

I remember seeing a framed picture of Fenris inside the depot/museum in Folkston.
