Honestly, I’m sure they were offered a life jacket. When it’s just you and your sister you might not think twice and you’d wear the life jacket. Also most people who set out to take pictures would rather look cool without it.
Exactly! That's what I did in Semuc champey Guatemala 🇬🇹 very beautiful spot as well. They asked me do you want a life jacket for tubing down the river. I said no once I was in the river with the group, I instantly kind of regretted it! Thank God I didn't drown...
My husband and I were the only two people wearing life jackets on a snorkel cruise for our honeymoon. Everyone was offered one. Well guess what happened! A dad hit his leg on stinging coral and panicked. We were a ways from the boat and his daughter was freaking out. I was able to take off my life jacket and give it to him, then swam to the boat with my husband still in his life jacket. A worker caught up to the dad right after I did. The family was traumatized on the boat after. We were totally fine, even felt like heroes! But no one acknowledged that lol
The fact everyone left to go to the us then came clean? Right ? I wouldn’t wanna be stuck and detained in a Guatemalan jail while they go thru questioning and investigation especially if I wasn’t even with her when it happened and now I’m stuck in another country dealing with their shady police and prisoners and most don’t even like Americans. No thanks
I find it impossible that every person refused a life jacket when offered that’s statistically incorrect surely. Life jackets should be mandatory standard.
Yeah owner is lying, it contradicts the witness saying they weren't offered life jackets. It's why she selectively uses the word "opportunity" and not offered, or provided. However in the end, even if it was stored somewhere else, it was available upon request so no foul play. Owner just didn't want her business to look bad since safety wasn't emphasized.
@@CodacoliI agree, I’ve went kayaking before and it was MANDATORY to wear a life vest. Some cases it’s not but I think it should become a rule. Also the owner took a moment before she said that they were offered the opportunity to wear one.
I find the people at the retreat even more suspicious. They didn't talk to police, didn't report the drowning and just left in 8-9 hours after the incident. They changed their tickets to leave early the next morning. Someone also went through the Nancy girl's room and belongings. The disappearance as reported 24 hours later. The Christina woman claims she told the Guatemalan police what happened but they said they didn't get any statements because they all left.
03:40 "....We understand how this could be traumatizing for the witness...." The witness isn't traumatized. The witness is trying to tread in a way that she doesn't get legal or public blame/shame. Google says the weight of the water in a lake can keep a body from returning to the surface. Also, Lake Atitlán, lake in southwestern Guatemala. It lies in a spectacular setting in the central highlands at about 5,128 feet (1,563 metres) above sea level. The lake, 1,049 feet (320 metres) deep, is 12 miles (19 km) long and 6 miles (10 km) wide, with an area of 49.3 square miles (127.7 square km)
I wonder if any of the locals might have seen what happened on the lake? I went paddle boarding at Lake Atitlan last month as well and afterwards went to a smoothie shop that overlooked the lake and two girls said they saw me paddle boarding. There's a lot of restaurants with tables facing the lake for a nice view. I didn't paddle very far out though, so they might have been too far from shore to be seen.
Why couldn't they at least notify authorities and the kayak company owner regarding the situation, at least they could of initiated the rescue or recovery operation at the time of the incident. The fact that they didn't take any action just is so counterintuitive that it makes everyone suspicious.
She might’ve agreed to use a life jacket with her sister to set a good example, and probably whenever the majority of the group declined life jackets she went along with.
This is why the traditional legacy media is dying. So many questions that could have been posed, including gaining clarification on the conflicting reports noted by the family, yet this news piece merely showed picturesque views of the lake and didn't dive much further than asking, "what do you think happened?" Such quality investigative journalism.

wow the water Lisa was in looked really rough and scary. I would be panicking with a life jacket on, the fact that none of these people had one is amazing. i know how to swim but water is incredible, you can drown even a pool and know how to swim.
I don’t think they insisted on wearing a life jacket but i don’t think Nancy was determined to get one. Who fault is that? I say the company. They should have had a policy to require life jacket and sign to acknowledge the offer or make the customer sign a waiver if they refused the jacket. 🤔
Seems like we will never fully know what happened to Nancy Ng. Nobody's speaking up on where she may have ended up in. Overall, I hope the family would still be able to reunite with her in some way. The trauma might have just been too much for them to take.
Nothing is adding up, why would she jump in if she knows she's not a strong swimmer and there's a strong water current? How have they not found her body if she drowned? It's a lake, not an ocean. This just means someone deliberately drowned her or took her body somewhere?
Why did the owners not report the missing person/kayak if they suspected something? No deposit fee? Payment not required before/after renting equipment? Do kayaks grow on trees over there? What's the kayak rental procedure? How did 10 tourists get away without paying? ..How many of the Annual Lake deaths have Lee and Elaine Beal been involved in since they've own the kayak company? From all the information that we have, it seems that the Kayak Company along with Christina Blazek and everyone in the Yoga Group interfered, delayed, and made it impossible for rescuers to administer aid/find Nancy. Grown Adult - Have some accountability. Ask for a life jacket if you know you should have/be in one. Your life - Take control of it. If I owned a kayak company, life jackets would be a given with kayaks - included in the fee. Use or don't use it, decision will be on you. Wouldn't want any death on my hands, especially seeing how choppy those waters can be and knowing how many deaths take place at the lake. What was the public defenders relationship with the male yoga instructor that was fired. Did they know each other? How many times did the public defender attend the yoga retreat? It was mentioned he was released after the disappearance. I have so many questions.
They should check if the cost to rent a life jacket was predatory / tourist trappy. Sure she would have taken it if they offered it for free, but what if it was $100 extra? $200? $500? I have seen that kind of thing before in foreign countries. Being right next to a hotel just screams tourist trap .
@@double_joseph327 Yeah but Sherlock Holmes over here thinks certain places around the world have "predatory practices" that can get away with things like charging an extra $100 for simply asking for a life jacket.

I'm a pretty decent swimmer, but no matter how calm the water is, I always make sure I have a life vest on when venturing on to depths my feet can't reach. Better safe than sorry

But that would mean it was an accident. Why did everyone flee early if it were to be an accident.
@@elliecallahan5874 everyone didn't flee. The only people pushing that story were the Kayak company owners, who weren't even there during this incident.
Swimming in that water?. Really?. I don't believe this at all she appears to be a smart woman. No life vest or why would she risk her kayak. Just off.
Yep!!!! I 1000000% agree - please, Nancy's family - PLEASE BE ON THOSE LAST PEOPLE WHO SAW HER. Something neferious is going on!!!
no one in the group was wearing a life jacket. There is nothing suspicious about this, like at all.
@@Not_Always so her, without her life jacket, deciding to jump into the water that is known to have a strong current - and can visibly seen having one - for a 'quick swim' or something?? isn't suspicious to you?
@@jodiejo-t2f No one was wearing a life jacket. People do stupid things all the time, especially when they think just being a strong swimmer is enough to not drown and die. There is literally no motive than anyone has provided as to why someone would want to kill her. Know why? Because it was an accident.
@@Not_Always and you know this how
This is so sad and so unfair on every level. I hope there's true justice for Nancy
I just don’t believe she jumped into this choppy water and swam
Would you leave someone in danger just because he/she haven't taken your advice seriously?
May be just ignore a person drawning before your eyes then pack up and leave.
For anyone who decides to go kayaking, please do not go for a swim like the victim might have done. Be aware of how unpredictable the ocean is. She is tough and you wont win unless you take the proper safety precautions.
You think someone that doesn't know how to swim would jump in the water?
They say it was kayak accident; believe me Nancy did not hop out to take a swim in that water. Seeing the reporter in the same area convinced me that it was not an accident.
The weather is warm, the waves not like 5 feet high!! its not very very far from the shore like 200 meters.. i think somebody whos is athletic and physically fit can swim from that distance to the shore!! something fishy with this situation.
I lived in Santiago Atitlan years ago and swam the lake all the time. It does get pretty rough in the late morning/early afternoon.
The waters were rough. You also don't know how far into the lake she was to say that she could've swam to shore, especially with no life jacket
yea bro kayaking is no joke.. I'm a full as adult. like 6'2 275lbs. when I capsized I swear to goodness I literally panicked. couldn't swim, super frantic, and couldn't figure out how to flip the kayak.... I swim like 30 mind back to shore, but in the process. lost my clothes, and shoes... because I felt like everything was holding me down... scary...
The last person who was with her knows exactly what happened. I'm not buying her story that Nancy decided to go for a swim and she just innocently held onto her kayak. It's really fishy how quickly the others left the scene
The last woman to be with her is definitely acting like a guilty person. Doesn’t say anything. Gets forced to release a statement that she does through a lawyer. I believe it was an accident but I think she’s leaving out more details.
You literally have to get a lawyer in a situation like this. Why on earth is that bizarre
@@MeghanMarzio then why doesn’t she tell her lawyers to tell Nancy’s family where she drowned so they can recover her body? Because she’s guilty of hiding something.
She did say something because how do you think they even knew what happened when they were still in the country?
This is a sad story. She should have asked for a life preserver. She is an adult. It can’t always be up to a business to take care of us. Sometimes they miss things. I wish the family the best.
You don’t know if she asked or not though
Even if she had a life preserver, she would’ve taken it off when she went swimming.
If it’s really simply an accident why make it so complicated
Honestly, I’m sure they were offered a life jacket. When it’s just you and your sister you might not think twice and you’d wear the life jacket. But with other people who all said no to it, you might think to say no as well. It’s not peer pressure it’s just something that happens most of the time without thought. Go with the crowd.
Those life jackets look brand new….
Wow Sherlock very good observation I had to rewind. They don’t show sign of fading, wouldn’t they fade in the sun if anyone was wearing them.
Regardless of being offered a life jacket or not it was her responsibility to wear one. Sorry for their loss
You pronounced her name perfectly
I don’t believe she went for a “swim”. Something sketchy happened and no one wants to say
Its weird how Christina was struggling but didnt call out for Nancy if she truly cared about her or called for Help. They killed her.
Cared about her? She only met her a few days before. She also did call for help.
The fact everyone left to go to the us then came clean? They most likely left considering people can’t arrest you from a different country even if you commit the crime in that country, they came clean when they knew they were safe and still there seems to be missing information. The girl that was with her knows exactly what happened, everyone seems super shady.
My prayers go out to Nancys search. God bless Nancy & her family and stay positive ❤
Rest in peace Miss Ng🙏 my heart goes out to her family.
that woman who she kayaked with, got something evil over her
Pray that she is found safe and alive. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
hahahahahahahahahaha
That is wishful thinking....
🙏 🌼
She’s not a mermaid 🧜♀️ sweetheart
Don’t ever underestimate the power of water
everyone that was with her needs to be arrested
The owner of the retreat is saying that all that group said no to live jackets… I think that is a lie.
They were probably there on a stand but not verbally offered. Really they should’ve asked.
03:40
"....We understand how this could be traumatizing for the witness...." The witness isn't traumatized. The witness is trying to tread in a way that she doesn't get legal or public blame/shame. She's only thinking of herself so don't give her more credit as a concerned person than she is. She already wouldn't speak unless it was legally prepared in a careful way.
She already gave a statement, but the family wasn't satisfied with the answers they were given.
Nah somethings wrong here. The didn't report it and they left the country early.
A lawyer was the last person with her...thats unfortunate for Nancy.
So sorry for the Ng family
I wonder if any of the locals might have seen what happened on the lake? I went paddle boarding at Lake Atitlan last month as well and afterwards went to a smoothie shop that overlooked the lake and two girls said they saw me paddle boarding. There's a lot of restaurants with tables facing the lake for a nice view. I didn't paddle very far out though, so they might have been too far from shore to be seen.
Why couldn't they at least notify authorities and the kayak company owner regarding the situation, at least they could of initiated the rescue or recovery operation at the time of the incident.
The fact that they didn't take any action just is so counterintuitive that it makes everyone suspicious.
...they did.
She might’ve agreed to use a life jacket with her sister to set a good example, and probably whenever the majority of the group declined life jackets she went along with.
Lisa is my fav reporter. Please ask the group why they didn’t talk to the family for a long time.
These yoga retreat attendees need to take moral & ethic sessions before the yoga retreat.
You can get those sessions.. in jail!!
They really had to travel all the way to Guatemala to film this four-minute segment?!? Talk about wasting money.
This is why the traditional legacy media is dying. So many questions that could have been posed, including gaining clarification on the conflicting reports noted by the family, yet this news piece merely showed picturesque views of the lake and didn't dive much further than asking, "what do you think happened?" Such quality investigative journalism.

if she died, im glad that she spent her last days at a beautiful place and was happy. i hope that she didnt have to endure such pain during her final moments. may she rest in peace
if your saying she died by drowning how did the others not see/hear her
@@shilohsv1deos you answered your own question
"She jumped out of her kayak to go for a swim"-- does that sound kinda fishy to anyone? I mean, her boat would just float away... I don't think she would do that.
then why she was wearing a bikini at the time of the incident ??
@@razimmahfuz473 no, no, it must've been a murder plot of someone they just met days earlier and had no personal connection with.
wow the water Lisa was in looked really rough and scary. I would be panicking with a life jacket on, the fact that none of these people had one is amazing. i know how to swim but water is incredible, you can drown even a pool and know how to swim.
Why they don't use sonars for searching under water?? They just need to scan the lake.
We miss you Nancy everyday we hope your good 😇❤️✝️🙏🕊️🙌
I don’t think they insisted on wearing a life jacket but i don’t think Nancy was determined to get one. Who fault is that? I say the company. They should have had a policy to require life jacket and sign to acknowledge the offer or make the customer sign a waiver if they refused the jacket. 🤔
So sad😭😭 beautiful Nancy.. hope you still alive
Lisa be careful out there and stay safe also have a happy thanksgiving and to everyone reading this.
She's good, trust me. I was out there with my DJI drone flying around
Sending love to the ones involved. Praying she comes home
Seems like we will never fully know what happened to Nancy Ng. Nobody's speaking up on where she may have ended up in. Overall, I hope the family would still be able to reunite with her in some way. The trauma might have just been too much for them to take.
No one loses a friend like this and halls a$$ back home immediately! She’s a defense attorney so she knows how to protect herself legally
I think people seem to misunderstand the dynamics here. None of these people were friends. They only met at the retreat.
Nothing is adding up, why would she jump in if she knows she's not a strong swimmer and there's a strong water current? How have they not found her body if she drowned? It's a lake, not an ocean. This just means someone deliberately drowned her or took her body somewhere?
why is it so hard to believe that she accidentally drowned?
@@Not_Alwaysjust too many red flags .
That lake looks scary 😱
Reckless Business Owner's leaving windows & doors wide open for bad business/lawsuit/bad karma
Inside Edition: "We're traveling across the globe to Guatemala"
I wouldn't say travelling from the US to Guatemala is travelling across the globe.
They always add that dramatic feel to the stories 😂
It can be. Guatemala is over 3,000 miles from NYC.
Why would someone who isn't familiar with the water, not accept a lifejacket?? That sounds suspicious to me.
and yet there is video of her in a kayak, sans life jacket.
Why do people think that someone was murdered, why can't it be an accident, it seems to me that the kayak flipped over and she most likely drowned
This video doesn’t capture how shady the company and her group were acting. Her whole group flew home the next day and the person to last see her alive was not cooperating and spoke to police 2 weeks later with a lawyer…
I work at a surf shop and 90% of our customers refuse life jackets. So stupid
What was the public defenders relationship with the male yoga instructor that was fired. Did they know each other? How many times did the public defender attend the yoga retreat? It was mentioned he was released after the disappearance. I have so many questions.
I would have never gone canoeing without a lifejacket. It's sad she lost her life.☹💔
One factor in this is that people who went for vacation to relaxed themself tends to "lower their guards"/"laid back" thinking that it is "safe."
I sense the kayak company owner is lying to cover up a crime to protect her family and coworkers from prosecution.
she wouldnt be speaking to the media if that was the case. this woman has been forth coming since the beginning.
Great reporting
They should check if the cost to rent a life jacket was predatory / tourist trappy. Sure she would have taken it if they offered it for free, but what if it was $100 extra? $200? $500? I have seen that kind of thing before in foreign countries. Being right next to a hotel just screams tourist trap .
Yeah, had the kayak company been located up in the mountains it would have been legit.
This is Guatemala lol nothing costs 100$
@@double_joseph327 Yeah but Sherlock Holmes over here thinks certain places around the world have "predatory practices" that can get away with things like charging an extra $100 for simply asking for a life jacket.
Also important (and suspicious) that Christina and the leader of the kayaking excursion, Eddie ransacked Nancy's room immediately after their excursion.
this is completely made up/
It amazes me how people will do these types of water activities without any life west. The water is dangerous
R.I.P. ❤❤❤🕊
Lake Atitlan is considered a crater. It’s very deep.😞
Christina B is guilty. Owner of kayak rental doesn't want to be sued.
I'm a pretty decent swimmer, but no matter how calm the water is, I always make sure I have a life vest on when venturing on to depths my feet can't reach. Better safe than sorry
Lisa needs to confront Christina
Something’s definitely not right.
Put yourself in the shoes as one of nine people in the group. If you were innocent, wouldn’t you stick around for a few days to try and help locate the victim instead of changing your return flight to skip town the very next day?
comments section shouldnt be allowed to everybody...to all the people saying: she is an adult it was her job to to get that jacket...
adult or not...when you experienced something for the first time u dont know the risk or the consequences...if theres risk of drowning because of the waves or anything and im the owner of the kayak company...ill make sure everybody HAS a jacket on.
So, why did it take so long for anyone to say anything? Why didn’t they say something immediately instead of waiting until weeks after they were back in the US?
* After seeking a lawyer and only corresponding through said lawyer…. 🤔
They all talked to authorities that day in Guatemala. They just didn’t speak to the press which is smart. And didn’t talk to the family which, considering the family threatened the main witness, is also smart.
