In the age of saturated drum vids, it's so refreshing to find someone who is genuinely born to teach. No flash, no gimmicks, just awesome drumming and awesome teaching.❤ 🎉
i havent tried it but i feel like im a slave listening and obeying everything mistress orders. yes mistress. sorry first thing that comes to mind. but jokes aside. i agree 100% she is born to teach. what a better world would it be if most teachers are like this
i've watched countless videos about R,P,B,B Shuffle. not sure why (because im little dim) but you explained it in way that got through my skull. i am humbled and thankful beyond measure. it's time to wake up neighbours =)
Hi,Emma wow what positive way of playing and teaching,as a drummer of some 40yrs and have played every style did not read that much but you explain it in a great way,the Roseanna shuffle orig you have broken it down so grateful.
Your explanations, graphics, demonstrations, the overall teaching (plus good taste in music) are remarkable for how top tier it all is. Thank you kindly for making and sharing.
Thirty-five halftime shuffle videos under my belt, and you are the first to really show the details and how to get past the unnatural-feeling part. I was playing these grooves wrong forever, then have been hung up on the grace notes before accents and the “not flamming” parts. Thanks for the detail and the suggested exercise. Awesome!
Thanks for breaking down these tips. Todd Sucherman showed that same tip for 16ths on hihat. I am practicing it now; started playing last year but not as often. Got motivated to start up again.
Great playing and teaching. The first drummer I saw do a half time shuffle was Buddy Rich, way before the others were born. That was 50 years ago when I met him. Keep up the amazing attitude!
Your one of the best at teaching drumming fundamentals & timing. I'm a percussionist who has always had a natural ear to play different types of rhythms but I appreciate your teaching. Music is all about "Timing" Great Work!
This was great thanks. I am an emerging drummer wondering how to make friends with grooves at parties. Some local blues guitarists have invited me over and said "no drummers really know how to play a shuffle, that I've met anyway". So I'm drilling shuffles like crazy and you've just spelled out exactly how to make friends. That last one looks like a lot of fun.
I don't play drums, I'm a guitarist- but I really appreciate your channel and the lessons you're giving. I do the same thing with Scott's Bass Lessons, it gives me insight into other musicians. It helps that you're a delight to watch and break the theory down in a easily digestable manner. Keep it up!
Hello! I am a blind musician, and I am studying a superior grade on a school in Barcelona city with the electric guitar as the first instrument and the bass and upright bass as the secondary instruments I chose. Let me thank you for all your material, because, even I am taking drums classes since last September and I have been in contact with lots of drummers and so, it is the first time I meet somebody who makes real accessible content: you do a feel, or a groove, or whatever, then you speak the hands you are using at each time; not all people does that in these accurate ways of you! Thanks a lot for your work! TC!
One of the Best break- down explanation i have ever Seen and Heard! And you have to know that i Adore Shuffles ( all of them and variations) The Magic comes from the Swing factor. Tx. Keep it up J.p.
If I was learning the drums (sorry I'm not, but a Chad Smith video I've watched about 50 times has changed my algorithm!), you would be my first port of call. You're great at explaining everything and the bonus is you're really funny too. You're born to teach obviously.
Your classes are very incredible, very explanatory and didactic. Even with all the experience I have of playing drums, I'm learning from you, one day I would love to be able to meet you, unfortunately I'm very far away, congratulations girl.
Just getting back into drumming again after a few years off (life happens). This is the ultimate beat that I never thought I could learn. I've watched countless videos on this and yours is by far the best. Thank you and you've earned a sub from me. Now I'm off to get to work. I'll report back when I sound just a tad bit like Bonham in Fool in the Rain...it might take a minute...
brilliant, as a fairly advanced drummer I'm still learning lots of new things from you videos! Keep up the great work! Greetings from Wellington New Zealand
Congrats and thank you for your practical stile in which you teach. I follow also Emily Dolan Davis , she played with the artist Tricky and Brian Ferry, but i see that you are simple breaking down also beginners moves on drums, no one shall oversee, some ground grooves-"pardon my english"- are often overseen , youre very helpful, thank you from middle EU
I'm getting back to practicing these shuffles again and this was really easy to understand. Plus you didn't fill the video with too much chatter. Great job, and thanks!
I am in love. 😳 I am sure that Ringo is freaking proud of You! I would love to see an I Wanna Be Your Man or Can't Buy Me Love performance! The latter has an awesome shuffle! Thank you!
Hey :-) great job. I love your way to explain the beats. I recomande it to all my students even if i am not à drummer but saxophoniste. But think that its so important to understand and feel à time. And in my jazz lessons i have drummer ( kids) so its so good to show them how it works 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 thank you so much for you job
I always loved that the one guy in the band without a beard has “Beard” as his last name, meaning that all members of ZZ Top are bearded on some level.
I was born with the talent to play percussion, can play all metallica/megadeth, all NEIL PEART and Rush 2112, Death, Def leppard, Grave into the Grave,..and much more... BUT I CAN'T READ A LICK OF MUSIC, LOL !! Thanks for your vids !!

luv to learn drums with Emma
I received permission from my wife to say "I love you, Emma! You're the best RUclips teacher I've seen!"
My favourite drum channel - Emma is such a great teacher.
i've watched countless videos about R,P,B,B Shuffle. not sure why (because im little dim) but you explained it in way that got through my skull. i am humbled and thankful beyond measure. it's time to wake up neighbours =)
The best shuffle groove video....among sooooo many shuffle groove videos. Well Done!
Best 1/2 Time shuffle explanation yet👍🏻
Hi,Emma wow what positive way of playing and teaching,as a drummer of some 40yrs and have played every style did not read that much but you explain it in a great way,the Roseanna shuffle orig you have broken it down so grateful.
Without doubt far and away the best frum teacher in the world.
Drum❤️
Love her passion. Really feels what she is playing.
Your explanations, graphics, demonstrations, the overall teaching (plus good taste in music) are remarkable for how top tier it all is. Thank you kindly for making and sharing.
YOUR
I'm a guitar player not a drummer. I like these videos to help me communicate with my drummer. Thanks a million

I never knew Liam Neesons daughter was such an amazing drum teacher :D
You're definitely crushing it with the teaching! Awesome job and thanks ;)
Thank You for teaching us how to play the groove for Toto's, Rosanna! You are wonderful! 👍
Thanks for breaking down these tips.
Todd Sucherman showed that same tip for 16ths on hihat. I am practicing it now; started playing last year but not as often. Got motivated to start up again.
The exercise for the last shuffle was really helpful. Haven’t seen it broken down like that anywhere else
Great playing and teaching. The first drummer I saw do a half time shuffle was Buddy Rich, way before the others were born. That was 50 years ago when I met him. Keep up the amazing attitude!
50 years ago Bernard Purdie was 34 years old and playing playing the Purdie Shuffle.
50 years ago Jeff Porcaro was 20 years old and no doubt playing halftime shuffles. “Rosanna” was released 42 years ago.
Your one of the best at teaching drumming fundamentals & timing. I'm a percussionist who has always had a natural ear to play different types of rhythms but I appreciate your teaching. Music is all about "Timing" Great Work!
Thanks for this. I’ve been meaning to get the Purdie shuffle into my catalog for a while and this lesson is just what I needed 🙏
I have struggled with Halftime Shuffle for so long and you are the only person who unlocked it for me. Thankyou
Woohoo!! Congrats 😊
Look up the Purdue Shuffle demonstration by Bernard Purdy himself.

Really clear teaching style, a lot of youtube teachers could learn a lot from watching your videos.
I love your great teaching, Emma! I consider you a gift from God.🥰🥰🥰🥰
Man oh man......she's got the groove...good stuff.

The last one (Bonham shuffle) sounds like a bit of reggae when you hit the kick 1, 2, 3 and 4. Nice..😄
Incredibly well explained. Great job.
Thank you! 😊

Frank beard of ZZ top does the best Texas shuffle I ever heard
Don’t forget Jeff Pacaro and Toto
I always loved that the one guy in the band without a beard has “Beard” as his last name, meaning that all members of ZZ Top are bearded on some level.
Totally ZZ top.. but try the Iron Maiden Caught Somewhere in Time..even the title of the song.. best drumming community Nicko Mcbrain..
@@james-jg8iudon't forget how much playing the drums builds up the forearms.
Stevie Ray Vaughn’s drummer is mighty tight On the Texas Shuffle
Excellent tutorial!!!!

I very much appreciate the clarity of your video thank you :)
