Yooooo that 16th spoken metronome had me 💀
I actually hooted with laughter lmao that was incredible😂😂😂😂
I have more of a question than a reply. Why did they say the parol is inverted when the diddle is in the middle to me it would seem inverted would mean the diddle would be at the front or the start of the group of notes I say that because, a normal pedal the diddle is at the end.
Hope I understood your question correctly, great question btw!
In music usually when people describe inversions, it means to take the same 'form' of something and place it differently (also refered to as displacement), rather than to flip it or in other words "reverse" it.
Inversions can also be done on pitched instruments where you take the same notes and reorder them differently.
For a paradiddle, if you kept shifting the same sticking, further back each beat on a grid then yes eventually it'd end up like RRLR LLRL, etc.
The RLLR LRRL one is just a super common particular inversion people often use 👍
Emma, thank you very much for the video tutorials. When I was in school I played the drums a little. At that time, we did not have the opportunity to watch such video. And there was no RUclips). Many years have passed and I decided to remember what it was like to play the drums. And your videos help a lot. Hello from Siberia!
This is a huge help for the people who submitted videos and everyone watching. Please keep these up. Thank you
Yes, you are an Internet silly person and also a damn good player/educator. This video is very helpful on so many fronts... thanks as always.
Hey it's Spencer @slickhandzdrums. Thanks a million for featuring me and giving some amazing advice and things to work on. Much love!
Good on you for doing this, Emma! 😉👍
The "yelling metro gnome" is a crack-up! 😄
This is a great video and a great way to help others. Thanks for sharing your knowlegde.
Once Emma starts playing 12:00, Roland's Yell-The-Numbers-At-You-Metronome-Lady starts grooving sweetly to the beat!..
Master teacher...Miss Taylor is quite an accomplished educator and an insanely good drummer.
Hey thanks for picking my video and for the advice. I have actually been working on my 16th notes but have not played with a metronome so I'm going to try that. I agree with you 100% the notes are all there but they don't sound clean. I appreciate you emma.
Great advice, lovely drumming 🥁😊👍
i found good advice for improv or grooves is to sing what you play. bapeedy bopbop bachubba wop. or for grooves bum de bop ba ba de bop... etc use your voice
Had some lessons then bought electronic set could not adapt so got another proper set and finding following you you make it look and play quite easy keep up the great video s
Shoot, my brother is trying to learn this would probably help.
Hi Emma…I enjoy watching and listening to you so much.
I’ve just started to get back into playing and going out to play classic rock covers with a band. There are two songs that I can’t find any tutorials or even drum tabs for. They are the beat to Scatterbrain by Jeff Beck and the small drum solo right after the guitar solo for Karn Evil 9 First Impression Part 2 by ELP. I feel I’m there to some degree on both but know I’m “cheating” as I’m not playing it the exact way and am compensating with mostly single strokes on the latter song. If you can give a few tips it would be great.
You’re fantastic at what you do and I appreciate you very much.
Best regards
Ken
Very nice sweater. What about drums? Drums is drums they are always nice.
да, и они там
Looking forward to more of these
Why not submit your own drumming video?
DONT STOP TEACHING IM STILL LEARNING❤❤❤
ooh the paradiddles. I wish i could do it. I never managed it. I don't have the patience, maybe i need to change my mind. 19:10 about the copyrights LOL 🤣
Emma, I'm self taught, played for about 20yr and consider myself the world's okayest player! Been in bands for all my playing time but I really struggle with endings! If a song fades out, I can't really seem to find an appropriate drum finish! Any tips?!
you're awesome, thanks!
🤩 Cool!
I want so much that you give me advices/opinions, but I do/did mostly cover videos, so basically there's no "non-copyright" music except some Kevin MacLeod tracks.
Could you talk some more about when to "burying the beat"? A jazz drummer told me to do that when I first started out, and to stop playing on my tippy toes
"Burying the beater" is probably one of those things people overthink a bit. Same as "heel up or heel down" it just depends on the kind of note you're looking for.
If you want a muted note, or to play more quietly, burying the beater could help with that.
If you need power and want to play fast, or prefer more sustain, not burying the beater may be what you want.
Neither one is inherently "better" than the other, they're just two options you can choose based on what you need.
Whats pockets for days mean? First drummer was amazing!
Promark Firegrain..... when oh when are you going to have stock in my area?
great video....very helpful.....learnt a lot from watching...I been playing on and off for about 8 years.....but a cheeky question what are dynamics please
Dynamics are just volume so loud and quiet 😊
Hi Emma, Can you recommend an app/gadget that speaks the 16th note tempo like you showed us 12:00 mins in please? Rgds Gary
Drums are fun
Yeez we will never give up sending you copyrighted records if you keep on giving us those lovely voiceovers of yours :D
Oh nice drumkid👍🥁
Hey about copyrighted music, I sent in a submission of myself playing (one of which is on my channel!) in my band, Saffron Dealer. We have yet to record any of our stuff properly beyond the footage our roadie's taken of our performances (shown in the submission), is that okay? I know none of our stuff is put down yet, so I figured that was PROBABLY okay but I'm realizing a week later I should've asked lol.
Good stuff here!
You're great!
28 hrs my foot!
Hi Emma, I submitted my drumming now 3 weeks ago but even though I received an email saying you would check it, still nothing. Anything coming soon?
Please be patient. We have a very busy schedule. 🙂
What’s with the horizontal bass drum in the first clip? Also a really light touch👍👍
It's a Cocktail Kit, looks like a Tama Cocktail Jam CJB46 plus a standard hihat stand.
👍👍@@Badz_B34chst4r
Hey, Emma!!!
I need some tips. I have an Alesis Commad X drumkit, and I'm having trouble with playing some "And" beats. Can you give some advice??
Submit a video of your playing and I can have a look!
@@love_to_learn_drums Ok, Where do you need me to submit it??
Never ming, ill get it to ya Emma!!
oh I'm a beginner, ill submit a video :)
How do you identify if playing copywrite music?
If it's a song
@love_to_learn_drums so if we video ourselves to send to you, the best option would be to hear music in my own headphones and then show my drumming without the music to you?
I could tell the guitarist wasnt playing smoke on the water right. its not played with a downstroke of a pick but a pull up with the fingers of the right hand. your welcome. ;-)
it's 7/4
- but I really like your channel
Pretty great for ony 27 hours of playing.
I know right!!
Nice video. Shared with a friend of mine that claims that im his teacher 😆
Im self taught as well with lots of videos if you'd like to check em out. Thanks and have a great day.
And put your shoes on! Playing barefoot is nothing more than hamming it up for the 2 minute video you're making.
