I took my family to the Mission Pacific earlier this year for a staycation using Hyatt points. It's a fantastic property if you are not traveling with young kids. But traveling with a 12-year-old myself, we discovered a perk of staying at the Mission Pacific--you can request complementary access to the facilities over at the Seabird across the street. This was great because the pool at the Mission Pacific is really just a wading pool while the Seabird has a grander pool which was a hit with our kiddo.

Ah that's a great tip! Good to know. I've heard the Seabird is much more family friendly than the Mission Pacific

I completely agree with you... when the hotels print out all of the different benefits you get for your stay, that makes my day lol. This seems like an awesome property that I may need to use some Hyatt points at in the future! Great stuff as always Max 👊🏼

I live in San Diego and also stayed at this beautiful hotel. The room was very nice, balcony had great views and the rooftop bar was great at night. Definitely worth it! I also used points for the stay and only used 26k!!

Thank you so much for visiting our hidden gem of a town! 🌊So glad you dig the vibes at Mission Pacific and The Seabird! Next time, definitely get a reservation at Valle, San Diego County's 1st Mexican cuisine Michelin starred restaurant! (conveniently located on the bottom level of the Mission Pacific Beach Resort) Come back soon! 💙 Love, O'side 🏖

Yooo! I was just there last month! Our room was right across from your balcony view! It’s a beautiful hotel. Left the sliding door open to listen to the ocean at night. Wish I stayed there longer.

I've got to stay booked for my upcoming birthday.
The Seabird located next doors is a pretty nice property as well!

been too many of those "use it or lose it" staycation.
My trip was at The Shay @culver city.
Feels like I mostly get treated better at Hyatt properties than Hilton / Marriott.
Not talking about Waldorf or Ritz, but you got to pay extra for the nice treatment.

Agreed! Hyatt is much more consistent in rewarding status members than any other major hotel brand

I stayed at the seabird for 17k points which ended up being pretty nice. Only a modest upgrade to a pool view room. Didn't think it was worth $400ish cash price. Breakfast at piper was buffet style when we went over memorial day weekend which was disappointing. Walked over to MP and thought that would have been better for couples. Too many families and screaming kids at the Seabird.
I wanted to say that it is pretty awesome how your wife appreciates your trips and can respect french toast. I hope to meet someone like this one day

Curses 5/24, after discovering your channel I mass applied for a lot of cards and booked so many trips. But I forgot the essential world of Hyatt card was part of chase 😩

Ohhh nooo. Bilt card is another option but you won't earn a lot of points quickly with the Bilt card

How was the beach itself? I considered this for a trip a while back but I ended up going with the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach.
