I've stayed at the Ventana 5 times over the past 3 years and have another 4 nights booked in February. My girlfriend and I live in Los Angeles and really enjoy the 6 hour drive up the coast and through the mountains. As far as value goes, I don't see any other hotel / resort where you get so much for such few points. Also I'm sorry for your experience when it came to service. We've never had any negative experience and quite frankly love the long dinners. But to each his own. Love the content Max, always enjoy when you drop videos 🙏🏽
Your b-roll shots are next level! Love your eye for detail. I'm hyped up just watching your video! I went there this past spring, and now I want to go back lol
Max, I think that's very accurate about most "bucket list" hotels. Good one time experience but probably experience it and move on. I read a bloggers review once about how he enjoyed it but he was there on points and there were a bunch of issues here and there that didn't bother him because he was on points but if he was shelling out $2000 a night he definitely would not have been happy with. Even still I do hope to book 3 nights.... one day
Stayed here Nov 1-3 and wish I had one more night to experience everything! One of our nights was the Big Sur Food and Wine Festival which was amazing, but made it so we lost one night of trying out the restaurant food. But the huge amounts of free wine and snacks made up for it! Great bucket list place, not sure if I’ll be back or not.
Love the thorough video! How far in advance do you need to book your activities? Anything off-site you would recommend doing other than golf? We have a 4 night stay booked in March and definitely would like to explore the surrounding areas on a couple days.
do you have to tip the carts/cars that come to pick you up? or any other people you feel like you should tip, even though they say gratuity is included?
Stayed there earlier this year and although we loved it, I have to agree with your thoughts on it being a bucket list place that might only be worth one visit. It’s one of those places I’m glad I went to, but I probably won’t go back any time soon.
@@theREALhaiaix3my comment was referring to spending points eleaewhere instead of spending points to stay at alila ventana again. There are a lot of other unique and great Hyatt properties out there like the Park Hyatt Niseko
Great video and great timing! I was just able to book this place next year for 2 nights. Too bad I'll only be Discoverist at the time *whomp whomp*. At least the food is still free!! Awesome thorough review as always!! ❤
Max, thanks for introducing this hotel. How do you get a room update? How far in advance do you need to book? But I need to get the business card signup bonus first!
My wife and I have two nights booked here for our anniversary in June. Other reviews I've seen said that you also get free food at a BBQ restaurant that's nearby, was that the case for you guys?
Can you do a video on the best airline branded credit card? Delta, AA, United, etc? I personally don’t really like branded cards since you can’t transfer points but I do like the free first class domestic flight every year on my delta card but don’t know about other brands. Thanks!
Max, just stayed here for one night last week 11/27-11/28 on points. I don't think the 2-night minimum requirement for award bookings is true anymore...
@@MaxMilesPoints yep, for 45,000. Then got upgraded to the Vista Hot Tub Suite! Wish we had gone in October like you did because it was a little cold last week, but enjoyed having no bugs around
It’s not at all anything special. Extremely expensive and most of the hotel guests are guess what? Chinese of course! I have stayed in much nicer hotels and not at this outrageous price!
@@MaxMilesPoints I can't believe that from a 27 minute great video where you share a ton of value, this is what she picked and is being racist here, it's very shameful! I love your content and it's a great video, please ignore these kind of people that just have nothing to do than to hate!

Yup! to each his own, travel the way you want to travel! I’m glad you love the Alila and I know a lot of people do
That’s a commitment! Big Sur is very nice but have you tried Post inn Ranch? That’s on my list 😊

Hey Max, there is a point calendar right on top at 26:30 and select the nights to see if the rooms are available. I'm just checking it out.
The calendar doesn’t show real time award availability, tells you peak and off peak dates but not award availability
I’m currently here at Alila! Thanks for posting been waiting for this one from you
Enjoy your stay! Eat as many chocolate chip cookies as you can!
Do more of these, loved it

is the dinner also included?
is there a tesla charger on site?
Yup! Valet also has a few chargers too

Saw you at Centurion Vegas yesterday! Didn't want to fan girl you. Can't wait to check out Alila!
Should’ve said hi! Would’ve been great to meet you in person! Maybe next time!

You ever thought about doing travel outfits vlog? Saw that you were rocking a sub or gmt there. Looking good
Can we order multiple main foods per meal or is it just one main per meal?
Hey Max, just wanted to reach out and say Hi. I saw you at Manchester Grand Hyatt in SD on Saturday, but didn't want to disrupt you.
Hey! Sad you didn’t say hi would’ve been great to meet you in person! but thanks for leaving a comment and hope you enjoyed your stay in San Diego!

💯 yup it’s a lot of points too, would rather spend points elsewhere for other experiences

I think for most, like Max said, a bucket list and I"m in the same boat as Max. I don't think it's worth the point, but YMMV.
Did they let you keep the wooden pen? 😮❤
Hahah I have no idea I would think so , I didn’t ask or consider it taking it it’s really cool though

A fellow San Diego-an here, would love to connect sometime.
I’ll host a meetup one day!
Nice

Just don't think its worth the amounts of points.

Is there something wrong with guests being Chinese?
