      On the internet I’ve never really seen a truly good move by Helmuth and I’m not kidding
      With the hand and situation in this video, there’s little you can do wrong and he still manages to miss a lot of value 🤷‍♂️

    • @Jason-ze8zk
      @Jason-ze8zk 4 года назад +5

      Generation Gabe Rettenmajer bet when the 7 came on the turn though, so it was obvious that the 7 had to have helped him in some way. If he had K 10, it would have been unlikely that he would have gotten a straight and therefor he wouldn’t have bet so highly with nothing, when it was a already obvious that Helmuth had something, and therefore that should have been an indication to Helmuth that he didnt have a straight when the river came. So Helmuth could have gotten a lot more chips if he had played it better

    • @generationgabe5966
      @generationgabe5966 4 года назад +1

      Jason Jason what do you mean people bet big all the time with draws ! Even bluff with them ! Played better ? Are you kidding me he played it cautiously. It’s easy for you seeing both players cards to say he messed up but you are not putting yourself in the shoes of the player period.

  • @scottlarrabee467
    @scottlarrabee467 4 года назад +5

    That’s the thing about Hellmuth. He’s going to lose the minimum on coolers playing the way he does, but he also wins the minimum in those situations, by overly slow playing. It’s to the point that he’s actually afraid of a bigger hand, and it’s not even a trap anymore. A gut shot comes in and he just flats because he’s that cautious, which I hate. If you want to trap, sometimes it’s going to backfire and you get check backs. SO WHEN THEY CLEARLY have a big hand you NEED to get the max because that way of playing is so open to get punished with lack of value. Not impressed here Mr Phil.

There's no real reason to think that she NEVER value bets two-pairs or sets on this board because, as far as she knows, he might just have AsQx. Not to mention I don't think you can completely rule out bluffs here. I know you say she's a nit, but she's a professional poker player. She has to be bluffing this river some % of the time right? 3:03 Anybody else feel like Dwan should have 3-bet the flop here? Based on his passive play pre-flop there's no way Ferguson puts him on KK or QQ which means the strongest hand Ferguson can believe that Dwan has here is KQ. Ferguson checked and then raised over the top of a bet and a call which is basically a declaration that he's incredibly strong here. So, given that Dwan's hand is so underrepped and given how strong Ferguson is saying his hand is, I feel like Ferguson snap calls or even snap shoves over a raise on the flop. I know it ultimately didn't matter in this hand, but there are a few turn cards that could have killed the action(an A, K, Q or 9 would give Ferguson a way to potentially get away from his hand). Instead of risking letting Ferguson wriggle off the hook if a scary card comes, I think Dwan could have gotten him all in on the flop. Thoughts anybody?

    • @Rodytur10
      @Rodytur10 5 лет назад

      That was my initial thought as well. However Dwan called the flop-bet (good play) from Shak. And to first call a bet and then four-bet a re-raise on the same street would look very suspicious. Even for a guy like Dwan that looks totally out of line. Don't think Ferguson could have gotten away from his hand anyway, but Dwan's hand range would be very polarized.

    • @connman8d617
      @connman8d617 5 лет назад

      @@Rodytur10 But, with Dwan just flat calling pre-flop there is no way Ferguson can put him on KK or QQ. He's going to put him on exactly KQ.

    • @Rodytur10
      @Rodytur10 5 лет назад

      @@connman8d617 Probably yes. But Ferguson doesn't need to have 33. There's a small chance he's semi-bluffing or playing AK agressively. By taking the line ''call=> re-raise'' Dwan will give away information that he doesn't have one pair.
