    Food for thought,
Once you get your camper trailer in where you want it,
Set some 3 inch pipe 3 per side for roof supports and build a roof 18 inches above the trailer roof that will protect the trailer from snow ,sun heat , off trailer and give air flow , also protect from falling branches.
If roof cover is big enough you can have a covered porch that you can use year round.
That can always be converted to a equipment garage once you build a home on the property.

@@kathyramirez5512 I had a small camper on my pu truck I lived in and I did that I also put a solar system in for my power on that roof. I loved it and stayed so much cooler, I made panels with plastic on them that I installed to go all around the exterior for wenter use to make it stay wormer.

You can also buy a carport that is about 2 feet taller that the trailer. Then when you are move out of the trailer. You can bulid the walls and use it as a storage shed or any thing else that you want. Just a suggest should be able to get it thru a place Chad got his sheds.

Yes, chickens! You don't need to have as many as Grandpa. 4 to 6 would give you plenty of eggs and you wouldn't need as big a coop. It could be put in the goat pen so Hercules can guard them. Just add a panel of chicken wire on the bottom of the fence panels and gates to keep them in if you need to

Pat you are wonderful to make the Egg apron especially when you don’t always have a basket or a cap to put them…
And putting them in a pocket isn’t always good because as Grandpa says Egg omelet in the “britches”
Kyle and Shanon you are doing an awesome job with everything and yes it’s hot sweaty work however that ultimate goal is so close
      You got this…
Pallets and spool rolls are most likely free and make great play places as do children outside slides/with a house like structure ck Craigslist or garage sales
One suggestion you might look at the half moon metal structures for the shelter
Jason at Cog Hill uses them and says they are much cooler, several animals fit and they can be moved easily…

In the eight years since we moved to our homestead I've learned to do a multitude of new skills that were out of my skill set. I was an automotive painter for fifteen years then taught it at the high school level for twenty seven years. We bought a fixer upper on seven acres, so I learned to do ruff carpentry, plumbing. Year two we started to accumulate animals. We now have chickens, cows, goats and pigs. The cows and pigs are for meat, the chickens for eggs and meat and the goats we use their milk to drink and I also make cheese and soap with it. My wife still has a job she works, but I'm retired and working our homestead. I like your dad put in a garden twice a year.
I'm truly blessed to do these things now and hope to pass on what I've learned to my grandchildren.
Wish both of you the best, and God's blessings on your new life!

You mentioned it gets hot in the rv later in the day. We have an rv, with 2 air conditioners. To make the rv more comfortable because the heat has been bad. We've done the following, and it's made a difference. We went to Walmart, and picked up white soft foam (the type you use to make a foam cushion) in the craft section, cut it a little larger than the vent/window in the ceiling if the rv, and stuffed the cushion in the vent/window to prevent the sun from blasting through. We also picked up several large silver sun shades the ones for cars/trucks (the kind you put in the windshield when you park your vehicle) and placed them in every window behind our blinds/curtains. We added a osillating fan to move the air, and finally we purchased a shade cloth with grommets and tied it with bungee cord over the top of the rv on to polea or trees to shade it. The shade cloth has 40 percent protection from UV, something like the size of 12 x 24 (may cost $100 - $135 (check with maybe growers solution on the net, they have shade cloth for high tunnels however, you can order the size you want). Or check Harbor Freight, the price for shade cloth may save you money. After using it to shade the rv, you can use it over any gardens later on.
Just mentioning what we did in the past with our rv which may help you with dealing with the heat with your rv when you bring it to your property.

Suggestion: mount the brush part of a wide sidewalk broom on a post, goat high, as a scratching post!! The handle just unscrews. I think you can find them with a wood base that long screws will go through. May help keep them from using the fence or shelter. You might mention that to Grandpa so his three could have one too. Grandpa could mount his on a tree. Bet grandma and grandpa enjoy your company and your help. Grandpa is sure enjoying the heck out if Luigi and Mario.

    Thank you Rob.
    Thank you Ken.
What a perfect pen! 👍😉 So glad to see y'all back at your place. Sorry I missed the live. I'm sorry but I don't social media so I hope I don't miss too much. Hercules is getting sooo big. I was afraid that Nala wouldn't like him and see him as a threat to her reign as princess 😊 but she looks like a puppy playing with him and I think all the playing she is doing is good for her. She looks a little trimmer. Maybe Herc should come and play with me! 😂 He looks so much like Smokey who I love, love. love. He seems to have that same gentle, calm disposition. Kyle does Grandpa know you are wearing his shirt? You and Shanon are both such hard workers who complement each others abilities. Bless y'all. And Kyle please thank Grandpa for saving your bacon with getting rid of the wasp's nest. He took one for the team.😂😂🐝 God bless you Shanon and Kyle.💖💖🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸

You two are educated adults, I trust you to work safely. I have dug a trench for electrical, it is hard work. Shannon you are my kind of lady, do it until you get it right. I am a builder, my next project is a hen house. Coming up with the plans now. No I don't have "land" 1/3 acer . So every inch counts. There is no "perfect", is it functional? Be open for change as you grow. You two are livin the dream. To be young and be able to be where you two are now. Keep it simple, living on what you need. All of us had to learn from someone, take advantage of those in the know. To have parents like yours is such a blessing. With those posts, go up one or two lines on the fence and pound them in, does it really need to be at ground level? Love you two, one day at a time. Peace out. PS: my dog passed a few years ago, Herk makes me realize I need a dog.

The trench is great, that was hard work I'm sure. The goat pen is awesome. You can get pallets free many places... I love how neat you have made goatville. Wise to set the posts in concrete ... Great!!! You are going to love having chickens, also get some guineas, they eat lots of ticks. The also are good free rangers, they will come in to roost like your chickens. Keep them enclosed at least a week so they know this is home. So excited for you all. Thank Rob and Shanon's Dad for their expertise and wisdom on how to set up, good for reassurance. You are wise to learn with them. So happy for you all. All the best! They are so fun to watch play. So sweet! He does have beautiful markings. He is smart also.

I love your pen. You did a wonderful job for your first time. Sweet! Leave the gate open so they can return to safety if something attacks or scares them.
