You are Al so sweet! I met my husband in front of the gym at school. 6 months later we moved in together, 2. Oaths later got married, 2 years later first child, almost 2 years later 2nd child. Been married almost 31 years now.
Kyle & Shannon, I've been here from day 1. I want to THANK YOU for sharing your dream life with us - the good, the bad & the ugly. I LOVE the fact that you gave us so much of your time with the Q & A. That means more than you could possibly know. Yes, I do love all the animals but, the time you spent on this video "alone" was priceless. Know that you are loved & supported. God bless you! 🙏🙏❤❤
Kyle there's nothing wrong with being proud of yourself and Shannon for all the new things you have learned and everything you have accomplished. I am so proud of you both and love all your progress you have made.
Shannon, I was a missionary in West Africa (Ghana) for 7 years. In fact, I adopted a child with special needs, while I was there. I found him. He had been abandonded. Someone had put him in a plastic bag and left him in the bush. He was about 2 weeks old. In March he will be 20 years old. He is the joy of my life.
Barred Rocks are one of the best chickens to own. Incredible egg layers, super sweet and wonderful personalities. My oldest hen lived until she was 13 years old. Highly recommend this breed. Take your time deciding some breeds can be very skittish and don't care to be around people. You also can never go wrong with the Buff Orpingtons, large fluffy chickens, very docile, incredible egg layers, and love people. chickens can live a very long life if taken care of. They all must be dewormed on a regular schedule and must be checked for lice as this can come from the wild birds. Love how you care about all your animals. Yes, they are a lot of work! God bless you two! ❤❤
Kyle and Shannon, I know that I am just another one of your random viewers that rarely comments, but I am so proud of all you have learned and done on your Shady Acres! Of course you are feeling a little raw, Kyle! You are sharing your life with us. Keep living one day at a time, letting God guide your path!
I love your videos. The sense of humor and laughter is priceless. Spruce is a bully and will be put in his place by Blue and Momma. Anxiously awaiting new Goatlets. Great talk session. Blessings to Shady Acres 🙏🫶🙏🫶
There is nothing wrong with thinking projects through as thoroughly as possible, trying to anticipate issues before taking them on. I am so amazed with the constraints you two have shown. You are making sure that what you have put in place really works as well as you can make them. I LOVE watching what you have learned. You both are so amazing. LOVE watching you and following your journey. With Gods help and blessings you will go forward!
Kyle and Shannon, y’all are so sweet, those goats are the luckiest goats in the world. It’s so nice seeing such sweet people raising animals and going out on limb to make your dreams come true.
Kkyle, you should write down Spruce's and Nala's stories so that one day you could put their daily stories into a book. You know... A day in the life of or things like Spruce finds a bunny or Nala hears the mice. Good job guys.
Children's books would be great. I'm an author myself and I think Spruce and Herc go for a Hike or Spruce and Larry have an Adventure in Goatville sound like great ideas!
My brother suggested I do that with my silly dog. I haven't but wish I had. He is a full fledged stinker and would run Spruce for his money. I send him emails of Beau chewing the pearls off my new sweater, opening the pantry door and helping himself to food or treats, throwing tantrums because the vet put him on a diet and he's always hungry, etc.
I will be glad to watch you every step of your journey one day at a time. I think you two younguns have a great head on your shoulders and great dispositions. Love your farm and animals ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😊
Thank God for Kyle & Shannon, the openness of sharing the journey Your plans have for their lives. God's greatest blessings continue to surround you as you truthfully, humbly & honestly live before us. Thank you from southern California.
Thanks for inviting us into your ‘sitting room’ for the q and a! You’re such a precious couple and keep us entertained! For an older person whom had dreams of a farm life and the rat race took over….. I now am in my rocking chair, living it vicariously through you two. Thank you for sharing your dreams, for real!!! ❤
It is wonderful to get to know more about you Kyle and Shannon. I agree about the fact that you don't have animals. Family pets is how I see them. You do everything on your time! Nobody needs to pressure you along! Unless they want to pay for all the supplies you need to build a home!! Thank you 😍😍🤗🤗💞💞💙💙
At 70 years old I can tell you we were in our 60s when we actually built a new home. We saved the money up and paid cash for everything. It was well worth not ever having another house payment. We built well but finished sparingly and we have gone back and upgraded flooring and countertops with higher end as we had the money. If you own your land you don’t have to be in a hurry.
I want to thank both of you for letting us in to your lifes. I really do enjoy watching you both with all your babies and birds. Also how much both of you have grown as land and small farm owners. Kyle and Shannon you are doing a great job. I know God will continue to help give both of you the strength to continue your journey.❤ Love to you both and goats, dogs, and birds
I'm so glad that you were willing to bottle feed Spruce! All the little ones are so precious! Looking forward to a long time of slow and steady progress. May the weather warm up soon. Prayers for health and safety!🙏❤️🙏
Hey Shannon, that is so cool about your sister. A couple from my church are in Guinea translating the Bible also. Prayers for all the Missionaries ❤️🙏🏽
Shannon, it was nice to hear you talk about your sister. I am the Missions Director at our church here in Ohio. I'm 70 years old and have been working with missionaries for about 30 years. Just this past December we took on a young couple with 5 children! Odest is 8 and the youngest is about 9 months!!
I definitely think kids would love the animal voices with videos. My 8 year old grandson laughs when you do it. He can’t read and has learning disabilities. He absolutely loves animals and enjoys seeing the animals and the voices. I think it help him with reading. ❤
This was an amazing Q&A! I think you are building a homestead life to be proud of! May I say it would be neat to see you add a bathroom, and bedroom behind where you were sitting and a small kitchen. And hopefully have the next couple of years worry free of excessive weather. Getting the propane going for cooking and heating, then It could later be a guest house for your family and friends.
Loved this. Reminds me of grandma and grandpa Doss answering questions. You’re living your dream. I’m 68 and wish things had been different. You learned it a lot sooner. Stay warm.
Kyle/Shanon, build a well house that’s just enough to protect the well, then build your house, and build a barn for your storage, stalls for goats, alpacas, even chickens to get them a safe place to in bad winter weather. Then you can decide if you need a shop to protect your farm equipment-tractor, attachments, tools etc. or you build an addition for all that, attached to the barn. I like the raw upfront answers you give. Have you thought about having a “ barn or house” raising similar to the olden days or how the Amish get things built?
You guys are doing an amazing job. No need to rush or worry, you just go day by day and it’s so neat to watch. I think a house/shop building would work great for your needs without having to have separate buildings. It makes more sense for your way of wanting to live. I’m hoping someday you get a cow or two. Kyle would have them spoiled right away 😂😂Anyway, just please keep doing what you’re doing. I will always be here.
I loved the Spruce intro of the video! He always has lots to say when he's eating. Thank you for this video of answering questions we all probably have. It helps me understand your life and the adventure getting there. God bless you all.❤
Spruce is a bossy Boy. He cracks me up with his voice tones. He is just about human. Ha. Loved your Q and A. And you two are living your lives almost perfectly, as I see it. You put thought and planning into your next moves and have wonderful, realistic attitudes. You are willing to change and change is always a constant. Live in the present moment and you have less regrets and less anxiety about the future. You guys, Cog Hill Farm, Grandpa Doss Farms, Sow The Land, and Hollar Homestead are the best examples I have seen of folks really trying and working hard at making a lifestyle, a home and real Love and appreciation of animals and land. I watch a lot of homesteading type videos. Some I cry for, some make me anxious and some make me angry. You guys are so real and it takes courage to be real these days. Keep it up. Your success is guaranteed. God is moving in you and with you. 💞✌️💞
OH Kyle and Shannon all of the animals would make the best children's books. Kyle is so funny, so are you Shannon. I could just see Spruce, Luigi, Blue, Momma and the babies oh Herc and Nala has to be there. Oh that would be so awesome. I am so trying to find a got like Spruce. I just love that little guy. We just love this channel and how you all are just the best "animal" parents, We have 3 dogs and our children always say, you all love them dogs more than you love us. To me they depend on you not only to love them but also provide for them. Keep going strong. Thank you all so much for allowing us to be part of your all's lives. We love the whole Doss Family and We really feel like we are a part of the family. We send Love, Hugs and Prayers
So glad we will be meeting your missionary sister, Shanon! My husband and I have been missionaries for almost 35 years and love what God has called us to do.
Fun vid!!! Kyle your beard is the best, trimmed shorter not like a mountain man!!!😊 You guys are perfect for each other! If G'pa takes on the goats i hope it won't up the stress. I wish he could relax more about the animals!! Love you all!!🙏❤🙏
Janet I agree with you . Kyle is a very neat person. He keeps his beard so neat. They both seem to have class. Shannon is such a sweet and neat person. I’m a 77 yr old gramma I have 3 adult grands who I am so proud of . Just like Kyle and Shannon.
You are using intelligence by learning more before you jump into everything. Grow slowly. Love watching ya’ll, the animals antics and love Kyle’s animal voices! Hope your channel grows bigger and bigger.❤
I have two friends who built alternative homes . One person built their house over their barn, and the other built their house over a garage. They are beautiful! I love them.
Kyle and Shannon! I really enjoyed the the Q&A. Kyle doing a kids book is absolutely the way to go to really stretch the gift that God has given you. Get some more experience and I believe you and Shannon can build your dream home! Shannon I love all the funny looking chickens too. God bless you both and your farm. ❤
Kyle youre such a softy. Getting all misty eyed over the thought that some of the goatlets may have to go to Grandpa Doss. ❤❤❤❤. I totally feel for you .
I love your attitude and willingness to take it one day at a time. I also think it’s a great idea for Kyle to write a children’s book about Spruce and all the other goats and of course, Herc. I would buy it. But I get it…it’s not a top priority so it has to wait. I’ve been with you since day one, and you have grown so much in your video presence. I love the voices and Shannon responding to them makes them even more realistic. Stay warm and keep moving forward. One day you will have a house and it will be just right for you. - Sue Sweeten in Sunny AZ
❤ I have enjoyed being on your journey. you are about the age of my children, and I am always watching to see what you are going to do next, just like I keep a eye on my children with out saying anything. I am a 75 year old great grandma.god bless you and Listen to what god tells you he will never lead you wrong
I really enjoyed your video today. I love you guys and all your petting zoo family. Wish I lived close enough to you guys to get to pet them all. Spruce is my favorite I think because when I started watching you guys he was a bottle baby and then Harry getting sick made me wanting to watch him more but I really enjoy watching them all. I am 74 and you guys give me something very loving to watch. That’s hard to find on TV.😉 I am a very big fan of your channel and your whole family’s channel.❤️❤️🙏🙏
Great video guys!! I didn't submit any questions but really enjoyed listening to you answer them. I admire you for getting out of the corporate world so you could honestly enjoy Life. Not many people get that opportunity, or I should say take that leap for the opportunity, and I'm so happy for you guys that you had the faith to do it. God Bless and Love you guys!! 💕💕
I'm getting to know the Doss family and you all are amazing! Seems you and your beautiful wife are perfect for each other and that's a true blessing. Sending hugs and tons of prayers for you and your family 🙏🏻🙏🏻 each of you are unique and the same at times and it's truly a joy to see. May God bless you 🙏🏻-Tina in Kentucky
🤠 I enjoy the natural flow of conversation that is major plus of your videos. A thought on the well house. Murphy loves wells/water sources. That means when something goes wrong, you can count on other complications, like bad weather, making things harder. Consider making the well house big enough to work on the well while being sheltered. Keeping on PRAYing! ... for you all ... 🙏🙏🙏
We appreciate your total honesty and your new lifestyle is exactly how God intended us all to live. This was such a joy to listen to your future plans. Love the relationship you have with each other.
i just retired from work after 50yrs of being in the work forse now i can concentrate on my chickens and rabbits and I am glad to hear you will have coop and run ready before you get chickens i am still working on my coops after raiseing the chickens up first. praying for 2 does for you hugs and loves Erica
I really enjoyed hearing about your life a few years ago and how you meet. Thanks for being open with us. I live alone and am living the farm life again through you. I’m a farmer’s daughter but married a business man.
I love videos like this. It's really nice to hear your back stories and goals for the future. It's freezing cold here in Tennessee, too. I don't blame you at all for doing an inside video. Thank you for sharing your journey!
I hope you can build a home sooner than later, just because I'd like to see you get out of the camper. Shannon talking about the dream home reminded me of a home that I fell in love with when I was a young teen. It was a lodge style house. It was basically a big open floor plan. It had a kitchen and bathroom and storage room at one side of the house and a big fireplace at the other end. But the rest of it was just a big open space, no walls to break it into rooms. They did that with area rugs and furniture. As a teen, I just thought it was cool.
You two are amazing! You have come so far since you bought your land. I think you are wise in your planning. Take things as you can, or when it feels right. You have good people to ask for opinions on things such as buildings or animals. Stay warm, stay safe. Sending God's blessing from Maple Grove, MN!
Great conversation; thanks for sharing tidbits of your lives! Since I’ve retired I don’t want to be tied to anything other than my learning more food preps & new skills! You’re very caring people🤗🇨🇦
I must say, I truly respect both of you. The way you go about your new life style is spot on. As you say "One Day At A Time". Your backgrounds have taught you valuable lessons. Life is not a sprint race, it's a slow, consistent, logical process that puts you ahead down the road. You, Kyle & Shannon, will be successful building the life you want because you have "Common Sence". Your not materialistic, gotta have it all right now kind of folks. Thats why I respect you both. Cheers 🥂 to you both. It was nice to learn a little more about you so thank you for sharing stories about yourselves. It sweetened the personal side of your channel. ❤🐕🐐👫🐥🚜🏕🏘
Really enjoy your videos and love your passion for your goats and Hurk. Your both doing a great job 👍 As you say, one day at a time, Rome wasn’t built in a day.
I just want to say that I’m proud of y’all! You’re doing an incredible job of keeping the farm and animals alive and healthy! I know my vote doesn’t count, but I am for letting the boys go to your dad’s, Kyle! You can visit and you know that they will continue to be spoiled! Prayers for your sister and her family, Shanon! God is so good! Lots of prayers for y’all! Love and blessings from this old Bama girl!❤❤❤
Ya know, y’all are becoming like familyy to all of us. We love your lives and wholeheartedly appreciate your sharing with us. Much love to you from Northern California. Yes, loved the Q&A. ❤❤❤
I have retired now after 40 years of working a couple of jobs and I can totally relate to Shannon's anxiety. I have never been able to even see anyone from the places I worked. I can't tell you enough how much I love your videos. You guys are so entertaining and love how much you love your animals. Me and my girls have conversations with our pet cat and it was the same when we had our dogs that have since passed. I can't wait till the new babies are here. Take care guys.
I really can relate to not having stress from a demanding job. I was in nursing during the pandemic. I decided to leave that profession. I have enjoyed so much of life since. I spend more time with my husband and family. I am so happy that the two of you can now can experience less stress as well. One of my joys is watching you and some of your families you tube channels. So thank you. You are all appreciated. This of course includes all the animals. Must admit Spruce always makes me smile.
Kyle and Shanon, thank you both so much for sharing your journey and being so transparent and gracious to put up with our nosiness. Prayers for the fulfillment of y'alls hopes, dreams, and ambitions, and I am soooo glad that y'all started on this journey and have let us tag along with you. Thank you for sharing your faith and being bright lights in this world. You brighten many lives, and I believe that the Lord will bless you both for being such a blessing and being examples of how to live Godly lives and be good stewards of the Lord's creation. One day at a time, Kyle and Shanon, one day at a time! 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
Love you guys! This Q and A, was great. Hopefully there will be more. I look forward to all your videos. I will follow your journey, with all its ups and downs. You truly are a very blessed couple. ❤🙏
if Larry abd Harry goes to grandpa doss farms they'll be just as spoiled there. especially with matt around he truly loves the animals
Spruce is a complete goofball. He definitely takes after his Dad.
Could not agree more. I love that goat. Great comic relief.😂
He's as noisy as his dad too.
You are Al so sweet! I met my husband in front of the gym at school. 6 months later we moved in together, 2. Oaths later got married, 2 years later first child, almost 2 years later 2nd child. Been married almost 31 years now.

Your neighbors were so right, living in the country is the best.
There is nothing wrong with thinking projects through as thoroughly as possible, trying to anticipate issues before taking them on. I am so amazed with the constraints you two have shown. Kyle is getting all glassy eyed talking about sending Larry and Harry to Grandpa Doss.
At least K&S could watch them on videos regularly (us, too!) and visit them any time they wanted to. They'll still be family.
I noticed the idea for Kyle was a heart breaker thought. We see how he love your goat children.
I would be too 🙂😥
lol
If Larry and Harry have to go anywhere, Grandpas IS THE best place. 😀
I love watching your petting zoo and all the animal voices Kyle makes. You are right time does fly the older you get.
I would love to see a line of children's books with the animals.

Fun vid!!! Kyle your beard is the best, trimmed shorter not like a mountain man!!!😊
You guys are perfect for each other!
I will be praying for a house for you so no more winters in the camper❤
I have two friends who built alternative homes . One person built their house over their barn, and the other built their house over a garage. They are beautiful! I love them.
Kyle and Shannon! I really enjoyed the the Q&A. Kyle doing a kids book is absolutely the way to go to really stretch the gift that God has given you. Get some more experience and I believe you and Shannon can build your dream home! Shannon I love all the funny looking chickens too. God bless you both and your farm. ❤
Aww a kids book The adventures of Spruce
Harry and Larry would love the Grandpa Doss life. Love you guys,
Kyle youre such a softy. Getting all misty eyed over the thought that some of the goatlets may have to go to Grandpa Doss.
❤❤❤❤. I totally feel for you .
So proud of both of you. Taking the leap and working so hard on your land.
No surprises. :) It's really good to hear about the change in stress and how happy you are now! So nice to know you!
❤ I have enjoyed being on your journey. you are about the age of my children, and I am always watching to see what you are going to do next, just like
I keep a eye on my children with out saying anything. I am a 75 year old great grandma.god bless you and Listen to what god tells you he will never lead you wrong
I love that Spruce.
Love the relationship you have
with each other.
i just retired from work after 50yrs of being in the work forse now i can concentrate on my chickens and rabbits and I am glad to hear you will have coop and run ready before you get chickens i am still working on my coops after raiseing the chickens up first. praying for 2 does for you hugs and loves Erica
This was great. Like you're in my living room just having a visit. Take care of yourselves. Not Harry! At least I could still see him.
Shanon you and Kyle have made me lol so much today. I ❤ this q & A . Stay warm and safe.
You two are amazing! You have come so far since you bought your land. I think you are wise in your planning. Take things as you can, or when it feels right. You have good people to ask for opinions on things such as buildings or animals. Stay warm, stay safe. Sending God's blessing from Maple Grove, MN!
It was fun getting to know you guys more!
Great conversation; thanks for sharing tidbits of your lives! Since I’ve retired I don’t want to be tied to anything other than my learning more food preps & new skills! You’re very caring people🤗🇨🇦
Love the relationship between you two. Love that you faith is stronger & share that Faith. Thank you.
All you need is time and more experience. It’s amazing how far you’ve come. I’ve enjoyed watching your channel so much!!❤
😊 family with the goats 🐐
❤watching the video ❤
Silly Sprucer❤️😀❤️😀❤️
Really enjoy your videos and love your passion for your goats and Hurk.
Your both doing a great job 👍
As you say, one day at a time, Rome wasn’t built in a day.
When you're ready for chickens talk to Cassie at Walker farm family. She is a wonder with chickens. 😊
Ya know, y’all are becoming like familyy to all of us. We love your lives and wholeheartedly appreciate your sharing with us. Much love to you from Northern California. Yes, loved the Q&A. ❤❤❤
You guys rock keep up the great work love your journey
Amen 🙏🏼 Shannon. Proud of your sister’s family.
I adore you two and Shady Acres and your pets. 🥰
🙏
I really can relate to not having stress from a demanding job. I was in nursing during the pandemic. I decided to leave that profession. I have enjoyed so much of life since. I spend more time with my husband and family. I am so happy that the two of you can now can experience less stress as well. One of my joys is watching you and some of your families you tube channels. So thank you. You are all appreciated. This of course includes all the animals. Must admit Spruce always makes me smile.
🥰❤️
Loved this video as I love you two. Love all the fur babies too. Please keep Larry and Harry. They are so adorable.😊😊
I appreciate the work yall have done and taking us along. I'm burned out from my job with many hats, so watching your videos helps! God bless.
