- Welcome everyone to this Air Canada video, thank you for joining!
Air Canada is one of my favorite airlines to fly transatlantic as it’s one of the carriers with the largest beverage choice and best IFE. And those are some of the things I like the most on airplanes, wink wink 😜
Initially I was supposed to fly in Premium Economy but as I noticed a whole empty row of seats in the Economy Class I decided to swap there. Full flat!
This particular aircraft operates in a high density 3 class configuration and is one of the B777’s with most number of seats, so I’m glad to have experienced this flight.
I wonder why Air Canada isn’t more spoken of when it comes to top airlines but that’s what I’m here for!

Twenty years ago, 95% of ACs routes were N. America, Tokyo, and Europe. It so nice to see such a great expansion of routes. Even many more to new venues in Europe!

Despite having 450 seats it’s actually as comfortable as any other aircraft, just a very long cabin!

Just flew the 777-300er AC to Frankfurt and back from Paris. Enjoyed both flights as you did and food/service/departures right on time, even arrived back to YYZ from CDG 30 mins early yesterday.We did carry on and always will. Decent flight and will fly AC again as a happy customer.

Air Canada's pilots are one of the best for butter landings! I took ac b777-300 from YVR to LHR in a windy morning and I didn't even feel the landing how it was smooth

19:00, That's nice that you use flight radar to track other planes that is flying in the same or different direction above or below the plane to know what airline and where is it heading. The contrail looks so cool. Becoming pilot is expensive otherwise i will love to become one but yes a great time. thank you for taking us to a great journey.
It is expensive, many things are, but money has to be invested to make money and becoming a pilot is one of the investments.. I know it hurts. Some airlines offer cadette programs.

Excellent video. I fly AC fairly regularly. It can be hit and miss. I find that on the 777 the seats in economy do not have much padding and there is a lack of leg room. Domestic A320 seats are better. My last 777 Premium Economy flight was great, except for the jerk in front of me who insisted on reclining his seat during meal service. He even gave the flight director a hard time when asked to do so.

Etihad A380 is booked (but not the first flight) and the Emirates Gamechanger isn’t complete. There is so much to show that one day of filming isn’t enough so I’m flying it again to film the remainder.

Fantastic report yet again. Seeing all those mini Dash-8's reminded me of the flights from YYJ to YVR and return twice a year. Have you even been on a Cessna Caravan 208? Tiny little plane, almost seems like you're in the cockpit.

hi. Alex , well AC for me did turn out well i flew from delhi to vvc on their 787-9 . the IFE was great and food was wayyyy! better as indian foods hits good . and snacks? not much chioces in premium econmy but was worth it as it was my 1st 10hr + flight

this changed my view of AC may have to try them in the future.. not very many good review out there but this video and some of the comments suggest air canada is not all bad. did they have personal air vents at each seat. I am one of those people that is always hot even in winter and i need the vent to help keep me cool.
Prima verslag weer. Economic lijkt hier mee te vallen bij Air Canada. Hopelijk hetzelfde bij Qatar Airways. In november van AMS naar Bali in economic. Business was schandalig duur, vroeger ongeveer 1900€ en nu bijna 4000€ of meer. In economic voor twee iets meer dan duizend euro.
Bedankt Patrick! Alle vluchten zijn heden schandalig duur. Ik bedaal zowieso 3x meer als ik did voor corona. Ik kan bijna ook geen aanbiedingen vinden, vooral niet in Business of First. Maar ja, zolang mensen gewoon blijven betalen blijft did voorlopig zo.

At 4:05 Newrest, I work for that company they have inflight food catering contact with Air Canada at YUL Airport.
I really admire the airline catering business, so much going on behind the scenes.. So many meals and numbers.. I wish I could visit and film a catering facility soon!

Hey there! I travel for work and leisure and then record. RUclips is far from full time.. I’ve got my own jobs and family as priority, RUclips I do whenever I’ve got some time off. I however wouldn’t mind doing it full time some day, but I would have to be in the 400k subscriber range to make it work..

Great review video as always. So how did you miss your original flight to Amsterdam if you don’t mind sharing? Would the food had been better if you stayed in premium economy? Smaller business cabin seats means more economy seats I guess. I’m guessing there’s less lavatories too on that aircraft. Can’t wait for more videos.

Another great video mate! Glad you had a good trip with AC. Out of interest do you know why the spoilers on the 777 has one that does not rise to the same level as the others? Is it due to the wing curvature/design and therefore to prevent the spoilers fouling on eachother?

I traveled from Lhr to yyz once with Air Canada business class.
I think I’ve never tried them in Business Class.. I wonder if the beverage selection is equally as impressive!

I have a request for you to fly Air Canada B777 300ER from (Toronto) YYZ to (Dubai) DXB as an experienced traveler like Montreal (YUL) to Brussels (BRU) as you did.
That one I really want to do the problem is the departure timing, as it is in the middle of the night and the sun never rises! So hard to film and stay awake but I know it’s a must, so perhaps I’ll do it in 2024!

Emirates 100%. Most of them are way newer and have better interiors. Qatar Airways is nice but they made it public that they won’t invest in their A380’s while Emirates does.

@@TheLayoverAviation the last time I flew on ts (2 months ago) the seats were tiny (since they use a 3-3-3 config as opposed to 2-4-2) and uncomfortable. cabin was very, very dirty (they didn’t even clean the floor for what appeared to be at least a month) - I’m thinking that just the way that you buy the crew treats/gifts on your flights, I’m gonna buy them a vacuum cleaner

our flight yesterday (operated by smartlynx on their a330 with no ifes) was delayed by a few hours before it eventually got cancelled - we got a hotel voucher plus some other ones for food
hotel was only booked till around 11am next day and our flight was at 8pm, so air transats very helpful crew (sarcasm btw) did nothing at all about it and instead just told us to "sit at the airport for the rest of the day" - thankfully we could extend our stay
the check-in agent wanted to charge us $90cad extra for each checked-in bag - we refused since we paid for the checked bags included with our ticket - she brought her manager and she said "i'll let you go next time" (if it was an actual charge that we had to pay the company wouldnt let it slide (it'd have been $450cad total since we checked in 5 bags), so im guessing she just wanted to keep the money to herself
our flight was then delayed till 9:10pm (which was good since we had to eat at a restaurant to finish the vouchers anyways), but it didnt matter since by the time we walked all the way to the other side of the universe to get to our gate they were already nearly done w boarding
the seats on board are also terrible if you want to sleep (or even just sit), theyre very narrow and have very little legroom - they also feel very cheap and uncomfortable - ife is also terrible, barely any selection at all
they gave a $200cad voucher for our next air transat flight (not happening) as a "goodwill gesture" - it had no ref number or anything lol
i found an empty row at a window seat but was moved back since some other ppl boarded last minute and it was their spot (since there was a stranger in the window seat in the row we were in so my mum had to sit in the aisle - bro got a window seat and kept the window blind closed the entire time), so i didnt get to film the takeoff - thankfully he opened it for landing

The Boeing 777-300ER is the second longest and largest twin-aisle aircraft anyone has flown on (Other than the new Boeing 777-9X). It has 3 engine options; The GE90-115B turbofan jet engines, GE90-94B turbofan jet engines or the Rolls Royce Trent 800 turbofan jet engines. Air Canada is the largest Canadian operator of the Boeing 777-300ER. WestJet does NOT have the Boeing 777-300ER. On WestJet's fleet, they have the Bombardier Q400, Saab 140, Boeing 737-700, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737-800BCF, Boeing 737 MAX 8 and the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Air Canada's fleet has the Bombardier Q400, Bombardier CRJ-700, Bombardier CRJ-800, Bombardier CRJ-900ER, Airbus A220-200, Airbus A220-300, Airbus A319-100, Airbus A320-200, Boeing 737 MAX 8, Airbus A321, Boeing 777-200LR, Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and the Boeing 777-300ER.

@@TheLayoverAviationYou, too. Right now, I will try to find an Air Canada Boeing 777-300ER that's going from Edmonton to Toronto, because I've never been on a Boeing 777-300ER to Toronto or Edmonton before. I go on another flight next year.
You are wrong, The GE90-94B was NEVER a Option for the 777-300ER, it was only for the 777-200ER and the Original 777-200, If you put 94Bs on the -300ER, it wouldn’t rotate that early due to low thrust, It’s like the heavier 777-200LR needed the -110B and -115 as a option.

I travel 80% of the time on the most flexible fares precisely because I change plans all the time, so it is likely that this time I just cancelled and rebooked on time. I can’t remember now..

From my experience, Air Canada is pretty ok. But I don't understand how they won "most Family Friendly Airline" from Scamtrax. As a parent, Emirates is infinitely better, from much more IFE choices and more memorable service.
As you’re a parent you know, same like me. I kind of liked Air Canada, they like Emirates have small sized headphones for kids. Very few do that. The entertainment selection is good but yes, not as large a Emirates.
I also travel Etihad a lot when with my son. I’ll show that soon as I just flew alone with him 3 weeks ago and thought Etihad would be the best!
@@TheLayoverAviation Definitely Air Canada is nice but in no way "Most Family Friendly Airline". Lastly, this seems like a big weak point for Qatar Airways, on most flights they don't really give fun packs and (If I remember correctly) they have no dedicated family check-in.
