  • Hello everyone and welcome to one of the first IndiGo B777-300ER video’s!
Many have been waiting impatiently for IndiGo to start long haul flying and the day has finally come 😃
The IndiGo B777-300ER still has the interior of the previous operator of this aircraft Azur Air. Prior to that the aircraft was flying under the Emirates colors from 2007 to 2019 as A6-EBX.
The plane has a staggering 531 seats on board, so one of the highest densities in the world!
This flight is a joint operation with Turkish Airlines, who is also wet leasing the plane to IndiGo.
The tickets are sold both at the TK and IndiGo websites so there is a lot of confusion for the TK passengers as they suffer a product downgrade. If you don’t need the fine print you wouldn’t know. So that is something that has to be worked on.
It also seems that TK passengers are served a hot meal while IndiGo ones have to pay and those meals are unavailable.
I still need to properly confirm this but the operation is unclear to me.
There is a single row of 7 Business Class seats but it was unavailable for IndiGo passengers to purchase, only on the TK website.
Come fly with me and see for yourself if you understand any of it and if you like the experience 😅
    Have a lot of fun!
    Enjoy!
Today we are showcasing you the following flight:
From: Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, India
    To: Istanbul International Airport, Türkiye
    Flight Number: 6E 017
    Aircraft Type: Boeing B777-300ER
    Registration: TC-LKE
    Flight Time: 06:09
Don’t forget to like and subscribe if you enjoyed our video!
Feel free to leave a comment with your opinion and feedback.
    Have a nice one!
You can also leave a Super Like as a tip for my work. I’ll invest it all on future trips.

I flew from Istanbul to Mumbai on 13 July. What a pleasant flight! Didn't feel like it was a 16 year old plane. Silent engines and smooth take-off and landing. We arrived 20 minutes ahead of scheduled time in Mumbai. Will definitely fly again with these people. By the way I was offered seat 25A at the window, next to the left engine cowling.

IndiGo really just buy their own widebodies at this point and operate them on longer routes with better services like WiFi, IFE, Complimentary meals etc. I would love to see an Indian registered IndiGo 777 or an A330neo as no airline here operates it. Its highly underrated.

A week back I was searching for a vlog to see how is Indigo’s B777 found nothing. So I was very happy to see your vlog today. Very good trip report and your captions are very informative. The amount of details you mentioned are amazing and also as I love plane spotting I liked all the flight details you put up. I m sure lot of hard work hours go into it as you have to make note of the aircraft types and the origin/destination details to put up in the video. 👍🏾 Coming back to the Indigo B777 I feel if the interiors are with the original 6E seats it will look good as they have re painted the aircraft they should also install their seats. Currently it looks confusing. Indigo is known for their low cost model so they should stick to it even in their B777 but offer lower fares. With these high fares it does not seem worth it to take this flight as I can get a ME airline flight for a lesser price at full service. As I stay in Chennai all flights are 1 stop and if Indigo is charging a premium doesn’t make sense. It’s almost $500 RT not worth it at all for the low cost model. If it’s $250 I ll fly indigo to IST.

      @shan2fly993 10 месяцев назад +1

Same situation for Bengaluru as well. Was about to book IndiGo until I saw what they offer for the price. Etihad didn’t have a big price difference at that point and I went with them instead. Instead of nonsense like changing terminals in Mumbai at the middle of the night, it was better to take an overseas layover for this one. Just my thoughts.

  • @nandhaa410
    @nandhaa410 Год назад +20

787-9 would be an ideal aircraft for them with around 400 eco + some premium eco seats. Even though they wanted to be a feeder for TY on North American routes but filling those 532 seats with no food or IFE or WIFI would be a struggle. I think Indians are now willing to pay a little extra for premium products.

I come for the flight reviews, stay for the technical details haha! Amazing video as always, I've been waiting to see how the new B777 experience from Indigo feels like.
I've flown 6E umpteen number of times in the domestic sector (will be flying international with them in just 3 months) and I've always loved the brand. Never had any weird crew encounters, my only ever uncomfortable experiences in Indigo could be the fellow passengers lol. Most 6E flights I've taken reach well before time, and I absolutely LOVE that. My only quip with the airline would be the food, but then again, what more can you expect for the price. Coincidentally, your choice of cup noodles and Coke zero is literally my staple every time!

Fantastic video! This is the first is the first ever video of the Indigo 777-300ER on youtube. I am 100% sure that this video will help you add many subscribers and accumulate many views. I have flown Indigo nearly 50 times and have never experienced a rude crew member. However, I always find Indigo crew to be really unprofessional and super-slow. Maybe that is due to the poor quality of training. However, sometimes i have found very nice Indigo crew and had memorable experiences with them. Looking forward to the next video1

I wanted to fly this so bad and be the first as I also didn’t find any! So I rushed to fly it, edit and publish it 😊
Look, I know they fly a lot.. And I know it isn’t fun to work for low cost carriers vs some of the better carriers with better conditions, but a customer shouldn’t be paying for that..
I know you “get what you pay for” but that doesn’t mean you should roll eyes at a simple request of mine… anyway, I don’t mind. Each experience and airline is different. For this amount of money I recommend to forget IndiGo and try someone else.
I hope you keep experiencing enjoyable moments with them!! Thanks for writing!

Hi Alex, your intros are a piece of art! You have been flying on the aircraft, that used to fly mass Russian tourists on charter flights to mostly affordable international resorts - Hurghada and Sharm-El-Sheikh in Egypt, Antalya, Phuket and Pattaya. Many passengers and consuming alcohol before and during a flight, and large numbers have been duplicated on baggage bins so they have a better chance of finding their's row. With the lowest costs in mind, Azure never cared about using the entertainment systems they received from previous carriers like Emirates. This airline was always having troubles with scandals, changes of management, very poor service, and troubles with state authorities. So, Alex, you tried and tested the mud of flying a Russian charter airliner.
What upsets me, is that an airline like IndiGo with a state-of-the-art fleet of neo airliners seems not to care much about customer service too. Second-hand amenities are even worse than what Azure was offering on these "drunk" charter flights.
Thank you again for your amazing trip reports. You are the first RUclipsr I would pay to continue watching your trip reports if you run out of money or goodwill and desire to share your experience with aviation geeks!

    • @TheLayoverAviation

Many airlines have it as a strict procedure unless safety requires them to use full reverse. Many other airlines have the same, such as each Euro airline, Qatar Airways and more.

I think Indigo will have a tough time running this ultra low cost model on long haul flights. For an average Joe, they don't understand the difference in revenue models. They'll simply compare what services other airline companies provide on the same route, and would expect the same from Indigo. And unless Indigo price its flight really low, people won't mind shelling few extra bucks for the comfort that comes along with it. Comfort is really import on any long haul flight. Just my 2 cents.

A great video! I have subbed. IMO it is better to book a seat with a legacy/full-service airline if you are travelling for more than 4 hours by air. LCCs are great for shorter hops. Unfortunately, Indigo showed they have miles to go with such shoddy inflight service and amenities - best if they stick to the LCC model and not try to punch above their weight.
Edited to add that Indigo's cabin crew are known to be rude even when unprovoked. I have flown Indigo several times on domestic and Int'l legs and I have felt the same way.

Welcome to the club! I agree with your opinion. I rather pay a bit more for a more full experience.
If it at least were their own aircraft, with IFE or streaming, it would be miles better.
And yes, they were totally unprovoked. I only went to the galley with my boarding pass and asked for the blanket. And they yelled that they would come to my seat during the service.
      thanks for writing!

@@TheLayoverAviation Thank you and most welcome! If there was one Airline whose inflight service was flawless, it was Jet. It was a great Airline with some really shady s**t going on in the background, unfortunately.
I was once flying long haul via Emirates and a Norwegian flight attendant was very rude when I requested an extra bottle of water(I tend to over-hydrate on flights). She was immediately pulled up by the cabin supervisor who apologised to me. That no one corrected those Indigo flight attendants is shameful.

Indigo is the third airline to fly 777-300ER to fly from Mumbai to Istanbul, with the other being Turkish Airlines and now defunct Jet Airways, which is interesting if you think about it. And fun fact: I actually flew on this exact plane twice when it was flying for Emirates, one time from Dubai to Karachi back in 2016, and another time from Lahore to Dubai back in 2017. I would love to see Air India fly to Istanbul as they too have partnership with Turkish Airlines through Star Alliance.

Its interesting to know that there are Indigo flights to Istanbul from Delhi and Mumbai. I regularly fly from Brussels to India every year once or twice. Found Turkish Airlines- Indigo code share Flights from Brussels, via Istanbul, to Mumbai. Only problem is 12 to 15 hours transit time at Istanbul. I dont mind going to downtown resting at a Hotel and back to airport. I hope there is a Premium economy section as well, if I can find a not too expensive upgrade! Thanks for the nice flight report with all details! I wonder how you know which aircrafts arrived from where or departing to where! Pity, there are screens but nothing of movies , serials or dramas to watch during the flight! The Blanket looked gross!

If you get told to close your window on a TK flight, it’s likely because what they do is they crank up the temprature onboard the aircraft so the crew can work less and get the passengers to sleep as soon as possible. Cheesy move by TK.

Wowwwww I didn't expect you will make a video on indigo's B777 that quick. Its has been hard to find pics oThn their B777. From what I see your point, YES, it is hard to fill 500+seats in economy and only one row of business class is available. If they want to make their long haul aircraft more famous, they gotta add services like hot meals on board, WiFi, Blankets, pillows,IFE but with some exceptions. Like have less quantity in food serving or maybe for IFE, have free TV shows, but make people pay for movies & games. Their leasing plan is quite nice but the service could be much better.

Indigo is a no frills airline. They will try to save every last penny to cut costs, which is understandable. They operate two aircrafts leased from Smartlynx from my city to Delhi and they don’t even bother to paint the aircraft in the usual Indigo liveries, only name is painted and the rest is left white. If you want to get from A to B on time, fly Indigo.

Wow I wanted to see an aviation video regarding the indigo B777 to turkey and voila, I find your video! Honestly, I was really excited to see a bigger plane in indigo livery and wanted to see what sort of service were they providing in it because I have always wanted them to have a better customer centric service flying long haul.. but I am disappointed and a little confused to see what complicated joint system both TK and indigo have agreed to! No IFE, no hot meals especially for indigo passengers and those so called amenities- my goodness, I was horrified to see them!
No wonder not much passenger load is visible on this route. If I hadn’t seen your video, I would have been seething with anger at such a convoluted service! Thanks so much for proving us with this vicarious experience! It’s much appreciated.

Thank you for your video. I've been trying to find something, anything, that shows the business class seats in the 777 because I'm trying to book my in-laws on Turkish to the US but from Bombay the flight is IndiGo to IST and vice versa and I was told it is not the same business class experience as Turkish. The price difference is substantial and as long as the seats lie flat (albeit at an angle), my in-laws said that is fine but I wanted to see a review or even a photo but there is absolutely NOTHING that I could find. So, thank you again. (Even SeatGuru did not return any info but I'll try again.)
