I have this laptop. RTX 4070 with 13900H and 32GB RAM DDR5 and upgraded SSD to 2TB and OLED Touch Screen. This computer is a monster and is the best built computer I ever owned. This is the best laptop on the market because it's faster than nearly all computers but more compact than most computers.

I’ve had a bunch of laptops. I run currently 4 laptops at the moment. Lets scrap the entrainment of reviewing this and get to brass tax. This computer has an RTX 4070 in it which is the second or third fastest card available. This means it has lots of cuda cores to cool so if you play a game it will move air and make some noise, but not more than some laptops like a dell latitude work laptop loaded with many work monitors and security running on it. the thing is, all computers with powerful GPU needs to flow air molecules to transfer the energy into them and out the computer. But that’s only when you RUN the GPU. This asus has a 2 gpus, one is built into the intel 13900h. In the Nvidia panel you can assign which programs will use the RTX 4070 or shut off the RTX4070 all together. When the computer does not run the RTX it’s completely silent or very silent. When a game runs it will turn on the RTX4070 and it will make noise depending on how intense the requirements for the game is. The benefits are that this computer will make sound like most laptops, but it’s actually able to run literally anything when doing it when other laptops will make the similar noise when not being able to properly run any game at all. Some laptops make no sound and have very long battery life but can only run browsing, office and minor games. These are the AMD laptops with 4000U or newer U series chips with no gpu. Prior to this I bought the ASUS something 14 with the RTX 3050 and returned it because it just could not run the game pacific drive properly. The noise factor isn’t an issue with a little volume or noise cancellation headphones if you’re getting really picky, but again the noise level is approximately the same as all laptops except this one is actually working while others just aren’t cutting it.

I have a cable that shows the power draw. The computer draws between 50 watts and 95watts on the usb C port on the right side. The left side power supply is 200watts because it is a gaming do anything computer. Now i was curious to see if my frame rates would drop if I used the 95 watts input on the USB C over the 200 Watts decaded charger and I did not see a drop in frame rates. I haven’t devised a senario where i saw a difference yet. using either the 200 watt or usb-c 95watt input allowed the battery to charge while gaming but I suspect the battery will charge much faster with the 200 watt input. The max charge wattage I believe is around 45 to 60 watts which means that when running games i think thats where the 200 watt input will be very noticeable.

    • @remypascal4872

But what a stupid design at this version with just ONE sustainable USB (A) port, the other ONE USB-C lives not long enough because of the desolate sensitive construction... 🙄
And the keyboard keys are breaking at too much consumers while a normal, non agressive usage.
And RMA companies want 300€/$ for the complete keyboard with guilt shifting to the consumer. What a fraud... like with the Intel 13, 14th gen.

You must be engineer by nature... or architecture by nature... I'm learning a lot out of the your review.. from the laptop build and why is the design is as such, yes as that detailed you are.. thank you brother, you are unique.

Great review. A few questions is the top lid easily cleanable as I see it picks up a lot of fingerprints, is there PWM and is it noticeable, as there is no gsync or free sync is the tearing in game noticeable and lastly how is the grain on the digitizer of the touchscreen? Thanks.

Would have loved a normal 16" version of this with a 4080, even at lower tdp. The 16x is halfway becoming an open case test bench. There's a dearth of premium creator laptops that can game. This is about the only one. The book3 ultra is gimped. Same for the XPS 15. It is very disappointing how little available models there are actually. So many companies were preparing for "recession" and pared back.

Architecture as well? Plus video editing. This is really good for most professional users. Only exceptionally intensive users are the ones that need more, I would guess.
And for cooling, people can buy a cooling pad, with fans, to extend the laptop's life.

I have got that laptop and the laptop stays cool. Yes the fans are loud if you are using intensive work and is plugged in but as long as it stays cool i don't care. It has 4 or 5 heatpipes and the ram is upgradable to 48gb.

I liked this laptop, but my main issues were the intel CPU not being able to handle real-time audio production without constantly skipping, and the screen was just too small for comfortable gaming. Plus the dial is not really useful, as far as I could tell. If you could horizontally scroll with it, it would be a lot more useful.

    • @techniqualities

Thanks for feedback! I wouldn’t guess it’s not able to handle audio production.

You can use a Linux real time kernel for audio production, this CPU should handle it like a breeze

I wish RAM was not soldered, even if so not 16GB. With an i9 and RTX40 at hand a max of 48GB RAM is not amazing, especially at this price.

Are there ANY 14 inch competitors that have upgradable ram that can go above 48GB? I'm fairly sure there aren't, unfortunate. I'd love to have 64gb of ram, but it looks like this is the only worthy competitor compared to the m3 macbook pro 14 inch.
