Handheld PC is the solution I need... I am getting older, I have a full fledged gaming rig, I have more money to spend.. BUT, I am also getting more busy lately on which exclusive gaming time feels so luxurious ... really appreciate if I can quickly fire up my mobile machine and quickly spend my 40-50 mins to enjoy gaming during lunch break ~
Agreed. I have a full PC gaming setup but I rarely have time to sit down and play on it. Having a handheld a PC will allow me to enjoy games on my breaks allowing me up to almost 2hrs of combined gameplay during workdays

Same, had a steam deck then bought the ally…3 days later I sold the deck 😂 my opinion is the ally is by far the best handheld available, absolutely love it, now I want the x ….so going to buy it and sell the original ally 👌 just wish ASUS did a part exchange program but never mind, also I think the new armoury crate se is looking sweet when available to download and a big improvement to the original OS.

I definitely think the price is justified given that a full one TB drive alone is over a hundred. You're getting a bigger battery that's going to be expensive, more RAM which cost money and it's still the only handheld based here in the US with VRR. I think it wouldve went a long way for them however to keep it the same price since alot of people did buy the first model last year and they could use a PR win after their terrible warranty issues. I mean I'm really swinging for the windows here, but if they did a trade in kind of service and rode off a bunch of the old ones that would have been huge too.
It costs almost twice as much as the original ally where I come from. If it was a couple of hundred more than I would be more than happy to buy one but can't justify double the price for only a small upgrade
it would be nice to see what dock stations would fit the device now and if anything that was specific for rog ally/steamdeck would fit it with the extra width.

@@crift1041 Does the power profile always mean the device just sucks the maximum amount of power available, even if nothing is demanding it? I thought it would scale as needed.
@@Hayden120 it comes with preset power profiles and you can make custom ones as well to limit wattage. So when I'm just browsing the web I can set it to 7watts and it wont go passed that, but then when I game i can bump it up. When youre plugged in you can just leave it at max if you want but just depends on your preference.
HI I am so tempted to upgrade to the Allly X , My current the sd slot died after a year and two months ,and i turned it into a 4tb Rog Ally which would still work in the new one👍
You forgot to mention the MicroSD card slot was moved. Could be for the issue they had with heat on the first model, and also there's a third vent that's keeping the screen cool.
Its 799$, even with tax its like 947$.....unless you add a protection plan. I'm not gonna add a protection plan because I'm gonna swap the SSD, that's gonna void that warranty I'm sure.
I guess youtubers havent heard the word Steam Big Picture and they keep on whining about the OS without realizing that this OS is the most stable when it comes to gaming. You can practically do anything on it seriously when they crying so much
I have preordered Ally X to go away from Steam Deck. Given how long is SteamOS alive, everytime I turn it on, it has problems, crashes. When I was trying Legion GO I thought Windows 11 was not doing good, but now I'd say Windows 11 on handheld is as decent as SteamOS na Deck. Deck is not powerful enough to run modern games eg. Spider-Man remastered decently. 16GB ram is not enough even on Deck - Spider-Man is a perfect example where it lags just because Deck doesn't have enough RAM and has to swap on SSD. So 24GB RAM, bigger battery, 2280 SSD format, powerful processor, not too big display, Gamepass, Epic, etc. I hope SD slot problems will be fixed. It's very expensive, but I think it'll be a blast.
Windows really is trash for mobile gaming. All those ponies and the thing can't make it past 2 hours without dying. Steam Deck is still king both LCD and Oled
which is why if you want you can install SteamOS on Rog Ally if you want. And runs perfectly. OFC brings the way better hardware gains as well. With 15w and Ally X battery Deck OLED can't win on this either.

I mean I don't watch deck reviews because I'm not interested in that device but you guys what is your purpose and what are you doing here? What do you guys get when promoting the deck in every handheld reviews? Seeing your comments I can see how toxic your community is.

Deck can't even play all steam games, struggles in modern AAA games, needs to check if its verified or playable only 800p and has a lot of limitations. I can't imagine limiting myself on only steam knowing I can play more especially on gamepass, epiv and garena. I can't imagine not playing all my games. Not having VRR on a handheld is a big no for me and not having 1080p is also a big no. Deck is a big downgrade if your coming from ally.
@@nathanjuan6042 since I got an Ally my Deck is docked to the TV and runs only EmuDeck. I got the OLED model and after a while ended up docked to the TV for EmuDeck. Again. Rog Ally is simply a better way to play for me, even with the shitty battery. I feel like lot of people are missing out just out of prejudice.

Probably has the power profile set to that. Obv can be changed for different uses, I just think he didn't for the vid
