I was in grade 11 in 1997 when the OG blue Foamposite Penny's came out. A kid in my English class came to school one day wearing them lol. I asked how much he paid for them? He said $250 CDN, which was about $180 US at the time. And I thought Jordan's were expensive at the time lol.
You can tell man knows what he's talking about. Just look at how he spins the shoe box lid at the beginning. Respect greatness.

I was waiting on you to do this review, I caught a pair on the day they released online, waiting for them to ship to my house. I appreciate your take on them were the same age basically I’m a couple years older than you are so I remember all this stuff as it came out I remember being a junior in high school when the first Foamposits came out and I live in Central Florida, so Penny was my guy, they were unattainable back then but now I’m glad I got a pair of the PE’s that were on the cover of basketball pro magazine. Back in 97 great job bud thank you.

This is my first pair of foamposite one that i really wear it (been keeping the Olympic foam in the box).
Agree the toe down view is not really impressive to me but the profile view is freaking amazing.
Surprisingly i found the leather going with the shoes quite well (althought i prefer nubuck if i could).
Anyway, although it is not actually the PE, but it is the closest that we have and it is still amazing.
I've had numerous pairs of foams (im from DC so yeah) and each pair has had to be broken in and didn't feel comfortable until I wore them about 10 to 12 times. I even have a pair of the low foam tennis ones but they fit completely different and I think it's because they're meant for tennis and not basketball. They're also muuuuch lighter than the pros or ones.
I had a bunch of pairs as well but it seemed like my slime green ones were the most comfortable

This is my first pair of foams. I picked them up from phenom since I'm in the Sacramento area. I had to take a bus and a lightrail to get them. Guess that tells you how hype I am on the shoe. I'm just loving the shoes that were once unobtainable but are now coming out. I'm still waiting on getting the watch the thrones. Love your channel and Sacramento needs more discord pick up games.
Love foams, just got the black “dream a world” and I’m crazy happy about em, they’re comfy as shit, and get better with wear, they don’t crease and they’re easy to clean. Solid ass release!

I copped my pair today.. I actually like the leather better on these. It looks good against the white and gives it more of a premium look especially for that price tag.. but overall it’s a clean shoe and they fire.. I haven’t bought a pair of foams since the Holograms foams a few years back

I got a pair when they first came out,my BMX bike at the time had metal peddles and it trashed the bottom of the shoe's.I wrote a letter to Nike and sent them to them didn't think anything would happen,about a month later they sent me a knew pair,that made me love the brand for life
I had a few childhood friends who would use that method to get new kicks, plus Timberland boots.

Those are dope, i used to play in foamposites on the indoor courts. They take a while to break in, but best indoor hoop shoes.

Foamposites are the MOST comfortable sneakers in my collection. The best feeling is when they finally mold to your feet, mine fit so good now I rarely have to lace them up.

Great review, I own a pair of 2011 Royal Blues and the NuBuck leather is deteriorating on the eyestays. I recently got the Foamposite Doernbechers and the leather definitely looks like it will last. I copped these as well and can't wait for them to arrive. I missed the smell of Foamposite glue!

I copped these along with a restock of the Orlando Air Penny 1s at our local Mom n Pop store in the Bay Area. I actually like the leather eye stays with the white. Now if they can just rerelease the Orlando Air Penny 2.

Love hooping in foams, if you play powerful these will work. With that said I use Kobe 1s probably 9/10 times when I hoop

Got coppers in my current hoop rotation and it really doesn't stray too far away from my other hoop shoes as far as feel goes
I agree the toe is a little weird but for a wide footer it really works out I just wish it had a carbon fiber spring plate like the alpha next % running shoes to alleviate some of the weight if possible

My pops bought me these back in the 90's and yes, $179.99 with tax came to $210 that was ridiculous back then. Love these shoe and the fact I didn't have to tie them was a first. Anyways got older and when I spotted the stealth edition for 499.99 I had to have them 😅

Awesome video and these things are 🔥. Totally agree about breaking them in though, these are my first pair of Foams and maybe it’s just me but they are a tight fit. I wear a 12 in Jordans and can even go down to an 11.5 in most air maxes but my toes are right at the end of the shoe. Hopefully it molds to my foot better the more I break em in as I love this shoe

Best shoes I've ever owned in my life, felt like Spiderman when I was running and jumping, never had the clunky feel to me but once I stopped wearing them for show and took em to the gym, I was even happier.

Air More Uptempos are my favorites but Foams follow closely. I wear a lot of Jordans but these do it.
I actually love the leather upgrade, aesthetically wise. Plus it will, imo, age well than the nubuck, which “powders”. Had my foamposite pro spiderman, and the nubuck is not looking good as it age.
FYI nubuck is top grain leather at least. This is synthetic leather. I wouldn’t necessarily call it an upgrade in terms of material. But maybe the synthetic leather will last longer. I would call it a downgrade and it’s a shame the price doesn’t reflect that. I still want a pair tho.
Coming from NYC, I wear a lot of times. I used to heavy footwear. Foams weight never bothered me.
Nike trying so hard to bring back Foams, I remember a point and time when these were just as popular as Jordan’s, maybe even more popular to a certain extent.

If it's your thing, plus you can style it, get what you like. Even when I do get something that is very popular, I will sometimes put them in my collection till later. A dope sneaker is always a dope sneaker.

Those are CLEAN! Hopefully they do sit and eventually go on a heavy discount so I can grab a pair. I did that with last year’s Social Status Air Penny 1. I waited cause they were sitting and I actually got them this year for a very nice 40% off retail and I couldn’t be happier.

I had the originals in college. I wish they'd left the larger black swoosh on. I'd get these and the all black ones too.
I believe they should've released two of every colorway since day one. One pro, plus one premium. That way, you can go get your favorite version when they drop.
Foamposites can be seen anywhere you go in the DMV area still even tho they haven't had many solid drops in a while
Hopefully Nike will bring back more of the Foamposites Pro colorways!

I remember when these released! I was 20 at the time and in college and broke I could not afford a pair of foamposite but wanted a pair so bad. Fast forward 20 plus years. I they have released and I could afford them but now I don't want to pay that much for them. I think if I was still hooping I could justify it but I don't and my wife already gives me the side for the shoes I buy when they are on sale or at the nike outlets. So I know she wouldn't be jazzed if I had these show up. Lol

Had mine for a month now (U.K.) and they are my first foamposites. Whe I used to play back in the day had a few players wearing the blue ones and busting my ass, thought they were aliens…always looked at them as futuristic shoes but I sues in flight, force, zooms, maestro ones…AJs and these were too expensive to buy especially when you need a new pair every couple of months…
So clean !
