As an ex-law enforcement officer. I was trained to stop the threat. In particular, we trained on mass shooters. I can't even understand this reponse...it's heartbreaking.

As an Army Combat Veteran (11-c), I am truly disgusted with the rank cowardice I see in the video (soldiers would not be allowed to act this way in combat; huge double standard in our society) and I am deeply disturbed by how far American police will go to cover up these “back the blue” type of crimes; the cops have tried to lie since day one, and are actively in the comments trying to convince you not to believe your own eyes.
If American police are NOT ashamed of these videos, why did they need to be leaked by the press two months after the event? If these are sound tactics, why hide it?

Simply put, it is your job as a law enforcement officer to put yourself in harms way. Especially when innocent children are the victims. It’s took 15-20 min for officers to help and arrive in the parkland shooting so something was clearly wrong for not storming in. It makes me angry that some of these officers are still working

Numbers over quality is a terrible approach when forming a police dept. Just look at the video and see all the physically unqualified officers. Their actions indicate a lack of mental ability as well. We are much better off with 10 well-trained, paid professionals than 400 amateurs who piss themselves at the first sign of trouble.

He did nothing. From 11:26 till 11:56, from his first response to the shooting to be restrained by other officers, he appeared to be remotely affected by the whole situation. He appeared too calm to be a concerned husband. He is a police officer, shocked or not, he needed to do more. He was playing safe and waiting for other people to save her. Apparently, everyone else was playing safe too. They only care about their own safety.

This is infuriating to watch. I mean they had no sense of urgency whatsoever. They were scared of even going in the building. How is it that when it began, this coward is on another block outside of school behind truck when they already knew the shooter was inside the school? Makes no sense, none. I can't believe that EVERY officer punked out. This Mendoza didn't even want to go in the building at first. All of these officers had communication, you can hear dispatch all throughout the video. Rather then running in and taking fire from the shooter, they JUST posted up. They should've tried harder, there's 20 of them and only one shooter. They could've rushed that door, a couple officers might have gotten shot, but eventually they would've over powered the shooter.

@Sob Baget do you really believe that training doesn't provide any benefits? Then why do the various sectors of our armed forces bother to train troops? Formations and advancing movements. I've seen at least one in this video that had full body armor including helmet. Meaning every vital organ is protected except for the small area of the face. I dunno. It is what it is. It is a absolutely horrible event.
Additional comment, with all of the technology available a floor plan of all schools needs to be on file someplace that can be forwarded to officer/officers. Maybe state patrol maintains the database of the floor plan's. Wirh all the cell phones in vehicle computer they could be sent to the appropriate people.
Secondly I know that surveillance cameras are getting more prevalent. So like fire detection systems have a designated location that fire department can access to determine exactly where sensors have been tripped. A system needs to be developed that sends all the camera feeds to a location (probably the same location as the fire room) that then allows for a commanding officer to access in emergencies.

In one of the videos there was an officer in a white shirt that really seemed to want to advance and engage, even after being grazed by a bullet. He started back down the hall more than once and not one officer would go with him.

These news reports really make me want go up to heaven myself and pass away to see and hug these little children who could have been a high school graduate one day just like me graduating on June 3rd with the class of 2022 but I can’t really take my own life away to see these angels because I am only 19 and I still have many years ahead of me and a lot of people are proud of me right now for graduating at the top 50 of my class and going to college in August to study Computer Science.I would have had the courage to take down the gun man myself if I could that day instead of those corrupt officers.I feel like trash and it’s not fair I still get to be alive while these children didn’t get to grow.

The response time is a lot worse than I thought after viewing this video...How surreal and appalling...Now...I can truly understand the anger and frustration of the Uvalde parents and community...There is no way to explain this "procedural" police response...
Police officers remind me of City workers, why do we need 7 guys to watch 1 guy dig a hole? why did we need 400 officers there, they could have gotten hurt running over each other!
The chain of command excuse is bs any one of these officers could have pushed the fight if they wanted to. They just did not want to engage. Just standing around is unacceptable.
Yeah shocking... looks to not be organized, no urgency... What you should be hearing over the radio, is like, "left wing clear, right wing clear and secured, this side of the building is clear." "Where is the shooter, does anyone have eyes on the shooter? Shooter is over here..." Something...
Ok... A few thoughts:
Extremely unorganized. The cops did not do a room-by-room sweep, until much later. The doors were unlocked.
If there are cameras in the hallways, then there should be a live feed. If that is true, why didn't the police have access to that information? And use it to locate the room that the shooter was in? And direct a coordinated effort to neutralize the shooter?
They knew exactly what room the shooter was in. They also knew there were victims in there. That's what makes this all so much worse.

I was a 5th grader In this school I can’t believe this happened I was so sad I moved from Robb elementary i was carrying a Texas flag I moved to the state Florida and I bought a Florida flag and All the flags it helped me calm me down this was a very sad incident 🙏
